Found one on a Bash'ir Harbringer.
Seems to open one of those miniboss prisons in bash'irs landing.
So just reduces farmtime on the small keys.

How do you get the special key from the Bash'ir or the Harbinger if you don't have a quest that spawns them? I have a quest from Netherstorm that requires me to get the Mark of the Nexus King from the mobs in the stasis chambers. But how do I get the KEY for the stasis chamber, if the only mobs that carry them require a different quest to spawn em?

This opens an Ethereum Stasis Chamber, releasing a random Ethereum Prisoner (Group Energy Ball) (click for locations), who may drop a Mark of the Nexus-King if you're lucky. An Ethereum Stasis Chamber Key serves the same function.

The Skeleton Key is not soulbound, but cannot be traded on the Auction House. How to get one:
• Participate in the assault on Bash'ir Landing when the Aether-tech Apprentice says it's about to go down.
• Keep the Skyguard Aether-Tech alive 'till you kill The Grand Collector.
• Buy an Accelerator Module from the Aether-tech Master for 35 Apexis Shards.
• Summon and kill one of Bash'ir's Harbingers (or maybe even Bash'ir himself) by activating a Proton Accelerator Controller.
• Loot one of Bash'ir's Skeleton Keys if you're lucky.

I was lucky enough to have summoned Bash'ir himself today who in fact drops the key.

I thought I did all of the Consortium quests and had all of the keys. Where is this for and where or what are the crazy requirements to get it?

If this is what i think it is, its a key from a quest that lets you open a door in Mana Tombs(Heroic) that lets you fight Yor (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/npc=22930/yor#A::A)

Wrong sorry this is rumored to drop off a Elite in the last stage of the Bash'Ir event however it isnt know if it exists yet or even has a use for something in game

If this does exsist you would be able to open prisons forever so i doubt that very seriously unless it only works once.

Edit: i am going to assume that it has multiple charges or somthing like that more info appreciated.

Odds are it would be a 1 shot use like the reg. prison keys

think u can buy a perminate one from the consortim people if u get exalted

You can get that never breaks for Yor's chamber in Mana Tombs.... not a generic chamber key that never breaks, imagine how broken that would be.. with an infinite key... given around 5 hours with it one could be exalted with most outland factions and probably have their epic flying mount

lol you guys are funny, have you guys ever completed the event in BEM, it happens every 2 hours and most of the time its hard to compelete and you woul dhave 5 or more people rolling on it. from what i understand, this has 1 charge it just saves you the troble of farming 5 keys to open one chamber but giving you a chance to get the mark from the elites :P so still heroic MT is better to get keys cuz 5-8 drop but this is kinda a free try.

Myself and 9 friends decided to do the Blade's Edge Mountain Event in which you protect the Skyguard Ranger dudes for what seems like forever :P Anyway, by the last phase most of us were dead, and it JUST completed as the last of us died.

Talked to the vendor, can check out the Meta-gems he sells, but you can also buy an Accelerator Module for 35 Apexis Shards. What you do with these Modules is go to the tube-like tunnels around the Landing, and use them on the Lever looking things, which in turn summons a Bash'ir's Harbringer.

This is just one big ethereum dude, easily 5 man-able, just has a very annoying spell reflect. Upon killing it, they drop a green item and an Apexis Crystal.
On our groups 10th or so kill, we had one of these Bash'ir's Skeleton Key. MT took it to the bubble prison thing just at the back of the landing. (Now i myself have not done the quest line that involves prisons and keys, but this didnt look like it was linked in any way to those quests.) Anyway, out came some big Magtheridon looking thing called Trelopades and dropped the Demonic Bulwark shield.
Thus shows everyone where our key came from, and what it did :)
