This item used to effect melee swings and was one of the most saught after enchantsments by rogues and warriors alike. It was nerfed to only ranged attacks and made to be a balanced part of the game.

It was also taken out of the loot table for a long while until they fix it for ranged only. So, many engineers that had the pattern before they removed it from the loot table got to price gouge all they wanted as many servers only had a handful of people with it.

At level 70, this item adds 1.90% to hit, and is still hands-down the best scope in the game when fighting monsters (especially raid bosses) that you might otherwise miss. It affects all shots and stings.

The Stabilized Eternium Scope adds 28 crit rating, or roughly 1.27% chance to crit with all shots. It does not affect stings, which do not crit. It also does not affect Distracting Shot, Concussive Shot, or Tranquilizing Shot, which do no damage.

The Khorium Scope adds 12 weapon damage to Auto Shot, Multishot, and Aimed Shot, but not Arcane Shot, Steady Shot, or no-damage shots. It's unknown how it affects Scatter Shot and Silencing Shot.

Good luck getting the cores and finding an engineer with the recipe, now that nobody goes to Molten Core.

Good enchantment for a hunter if you still need to reach your hit cap, but if you have, go with +28Crit rating.

Non-survival hunters have to juggle all kinds of gear slots to reach the 9% cap, in my case meaning obvious upgrades cannot be used unless I find an offset. This is particularly bad once you start removing the blue dungeon set items that have both hit on the item and 2-item 35+ hit bonuses (desolation, wastewalker, what else?).

30 hit rating would go a long way towards freeing up gear options, if I could find a crafter.

Well since T6 has 0 for hit you can get this scope to replace the 28 crit rating... BUT you can put all 10 agility gems in your gear and not 5 agility 5 hit to reach the cap making this more dps in the long run

If you can find a group for MC, the lava core is easy to farm.
1 Dark Iron bar is made from 8 Dark Iron ore and can only be smelted near the Black Forge in BRD.

this scope is actually better than the crit scope no matter if your hit capped or not, because this scope is 30 hit rating, the crit scope is only 28 rating, so instead of putting a crit scope and putting 3 hit gems in your gear, go ahead and put a hit scope on and put 3 crit gems in your gear and you get 2 more crit rating, yea its not much but then again every little bit counts.

Not true, if you are hit capped this scope is a waste of money. Lots of gear has +hit on it and once you start running Kara you will pick even more +hit gear. I don't really see a need for this scope anymore.
You can pick up Rigid Dawnstone or Glinting Noble Topaz easily at the AH.
If you are just short of the hit cap the cheapest way to give yourself a hit boost is Spicy Hot Talbuk. Gives 20 hit at fraction of the cost! If you need the +30 hit scoff a Spicy Hot Talbuk and get Surefooted enchanted on your boots. Job done at a much cheaper price!

If you really need +30 hit get Romulo's Poison Vial . It's a more flexible way of adding +hit when you need it

Are you serious? Thats the most absurd thing I've ever heard of, that trinket is terrible and anyone should feel bad for using it.

If you're not doing any amount of serious raiding, then you probably don't care about your hit rating, if you are seriously raiding, even if only T4/5 content, then you shouldn't have a problem with going a little out of your way to improve your gear.

Example: In my dream end game suit, I'll have 106 hit rating from gear and Glyph of Ferocity, before gems. This scope would put me at a comfortable 136, to which I could add a single Glinting Pyrestone and be at 141 hit, 1 under capped.

Also keep in mind that hit and crit rating have the same item value/weight, and since last I checked, 30 is more than 28, this scope is superior in the end than the Stabilized Eternium Scope.

To further simplify, I'll just say this; This is the scope that will grace my Thori'dal.

Of course, if your gear alone is giving you all or nearly all of the hit you need, then obviously a 28 crit scope will be better FOR YOU in YOUR SITUATION. While statistically superior, its a situational scope, as stated.

This scope can also be attached to a high end ranged weapon in level 40-49 bracket.
EDIT: https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=17753 and https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=19114 are the only weapons, actually.

+30 hit rating(roughly +4% hit at lvl 49) is a lot better than +7 damage for a level 49 hunter twink.

after the 3.0 patch this upcoming tuesday (october 14th) this will be a very nice option for TG warriors and rogues looking for more hit, as it means that you will be able to use up to 3 less hit gems

In 3.0.2 all hunters can easily reach the required level 70 pvp hit rating(5%) using the tier 1 MM talent Focused Aim along with this scope. The main problem will be finding an engineer with the schematic. This is a rare, but great scope to have for any hunter.

Is there a lvl 80 equivalent scope with hit? I've found the Crit scope, haste scope and damage scope but haven't found anything for hit.

Attaching this scope to a ranged weapon causes it to become soulbound.

This does not count for heirloom weapons such as Charmed Ancient Bone Bow, since those items cannot become soulbound.

This scope still adds more hit than any other permanent gear buff in the game. The next closest item is the Titanium Weapon Chain at +28 hit on a melee weapon. So, hunters, if you're direly strapped for hit and can find an engineer who can craft this, get them to. The mats aren't *horribly* bad if you can round up some friends to old school it up for a few hours.

the fact is that when u are gonna make / use this probably on a big epix ranged, this mean your guild is running some 40man istance, and u alredy have many items that give u chanche to hit so maybe u wont really need this if u have +4%-+5% from gear

On Molten giants/destroys and firelords and all other trash in mc I have missed more then once and not just auto shots ive had a few missed aimed shots which it makes 3% chance to hit Majorly worth while cuz you never know if that aimed shot that missed was a 2k crit.

On boss mobs, you have an 83% chance to hit. On level 60s, you have a 95% chance to hit. Yes, you need a whopping +16% chance to hit to max out on boss mobs. This scope is better for everyone using a ranged weapon, but is in no way worth it for a melee class.

wow, surprised no1 has said this yet.

your miss rate increases with the level of the mob, up to raid bosses (which are classed as level 63)

to get a 100%hit rate you need 8.66%hit in total. any more than this is pointless and uneeded. This value is easier to round up to 9%.

weapon skill gives 0.25%hit (and 0.2%crit) per point over 300 I think, if any1 is interested (not 100% sure on this though)

now, as im sure alot of you are aware we shoot tranq shot on a few bosses, missing = bad news, so you should aim for 9% hit so that you are reliable as possible(tranq can still fail)

this scope is better than a +7 scope if you are lack 2 or more +hit (i.e. if you have 7 or less)

also, dont forget, slower weapons offer better dps, BUT +7scope on slower weapons offers a smaller dps increase.

so you chooce, yes it is expensive but also very useful if used correctly.

Above poster is incorrect. In order to test this, I leave a combat log up that only records misses. I don't have a screenshot of it, but with +7% to hit I ran all of AQ40 up to and including Huhuran, and all of BWL up to and including chromaggus. My combat log did not record a single miss.

Also, 1 weapon skill = .04% to hit and +.04% to crit, per point above the target's defense skill. Therefore, the miss rate on a level 63 mob should be 5.6%. I haven't had much time to test this, mostly because my +hit gear is integral to my build and I dont feel like gimping myself in raids.

Though without a saturated +hit rate, the +3% is better, but only if you're at +2% hit or below. Anything higher wastes the bonus, and most likely makes it inferior to the +7 damage scope.

Also, I don't use the Accurascope, I use the +7. Why wouldnt they just give hunters a 1% crit scope?

Im trying to get geared up for Kara and I am using Gladiators Crossbow. At first i was going to get a +28 Crit scope on it but the problem is that my crit chance is already high enough for raiding and hit rating is what I am lacking in.

So now Im thinking maybe I should get this scope but then it seems kinda wrong to put a hit rating enchant on a crossbow which is technically a PVP item.

I cant decide what to do! :/

The best piece of advice I can give about this scope is FIND AN ENGINEER THAT CAN CRAFT IT FIRST, then start collecting the mats. There is currently only 1 person on my server that can craft this and I got very lucky in finding him as well as collecting the mats. If you cannot find an engineer who can make it your wasting your time collecting the mats which are very difficult to collect, just go for the crit scope instead.

Update:

I have since found THREE engineers on Blade's Edge that can craft this and I currently have one banked. As it is, my hit is at 99 so my Chicken Crossbow got the +28 Crit scope.

There are some items I have my eye on that will get me the +hit I need.

So this will collect dust in my bank till a rainy day I guess!

Saw this drop off a mob just before Lucifron. It requires MC drops to make (ie. Lava Core). I don't know the exact requirements, have to ask my guildmate. It's more useful for Magmadar than anything else because you need tranquil shot to hit.

If you are a hunter and your spend your time raiding, you need +hit to ensure that you don't miss bosses. You need lots of +hit. You don't want to fire a misdirect on the tank and miss. You need this scope if you raid.

If you spend all your time doing PvP or grinding gold to supply your other toons, go with a +damage scope.

But if you raid, you need this scope.

Hunter hit % is 95. + 3 in hit is the best you can do without sacrificing stats on other gear. Why? because you CANT have 100% hit. Blizzard have tapped it at either 98 or 99%. So you ppl that say you have over 99% hit chance are either lyers or just plain stupid...

a hunter i think will be better with a +7 damage, but on every other class that can use a bow / gun it`s much better to have this on.
it`s a free 3% chance to hit instead of a useless +7 damage.

For all the noobs here who think its useless, @ 1600 shots in MC my Hit rate was 94.8%, and that is with great gear. +3% chance to hit is great, not only on Magmadar but all hunter will think about our great Aimed shot miss rate in PVP aswel.

i dunno what happens in melee and honestly i dont care but stop being useless to ppl who come here to get some info.

After 40 days played with 9-14%hit my RANGED attacks, ranged dmg spells and ranged debuffs havent missed not even ONCE in pvp and pve.

---there is no such thing as 98% or 99%cap---

Bosses need a minimum of +9%hit and even 1%miss is noticable on a 2hour run, a 2%hit is noticable almost on every single boss fight you'll engage at.

HOWEVER: the scope isnt useless, especially on slow weapons like the smiting xbow where as you can see here --> url=http://www.elxdraco.net/wow/huntercalc a +7dmg scope adds almost nothing. But when you are on a high end raiding guild, when you wear your fire res gear or nature res gear or in 1.11 your frost and possibly shadow res gear and you wont have your standard +hit tier 1or2 +hit items on, that 3%hit scope is FAR from useless.

and stop reading guides, look around you and see whats really happening

This would be good for a good gun for a class that doesn't use guns or bows as their main form of attack. Like, i'm a rogue, so I stuck this on my gun, which I crit for like 330, I often use my gun to try and kill them damn alliance that like to run away when their near death; +3% chance to hit would be a big deal as compared to +0% chance, its that +3% that I will kill someone instead of losing them to running.

This scope is mostly intended for Molten Core, where the mobs are 61-63. Your accuracy rating is for mobs your level, and decreases above that level... so this allows you to hit level 63 mobs much more reliably.

Ranged attacks cannot be blocked, dodged, or parried, whereas melee hits can be mitigated by all of the above. Their base to hit is no higher than anyone elses.

This scope is FAR from useless.

The 3% hit applies to melee as well as ranged weapons. With the lifting of the cap on +hit% to offhand weapons, rogues would LOVE this scope.

Blizzard removed the spawn for this recipe, so ONLY expsting players can make it. I'd probably pay the 700-1000 gold for one, if I could find someone on Hyjal that would make it.

A very useful tool for a few hunters.

In AQ we use a meat shield approach for nature soaking, while tranqing.

Using full NR gear we lose alot of +Hit and this gives us a nice option on a spare weapon for that hit regain. I use on my Fahrads Repeater.

This +Hit is only for ranged. Which is a pity since there are no enchants for ranged weapons that can help melee users. Such a shame it was modified, but no use crying over spilt milk...

The mats required for the making are stupid though, most guilds who will start needing it will be AQ/Naxx and wont be going MC on a regular schedule. Bit of a pain.

although they are easily obtainable from some MC runs.

Anyone looking at using this on their standard weapon, I strongly suggest you not waste materials on a venture. Hunters can easily get +9 hit from zg enchants, a few rings, and talents, not to mention the +hit already on our set pieces.

This scope is pretty badass. People who think otherwise don't know what they're talkign about. Hunter missrate is about 95% or so, so this would help a decent amount. +15 bow or guns with gear would mean you'd have that same missrate vs a lvl 63. It'd be nice to lower that miss rate to 2% that way you're almost sure you wont miss tranq shot. Add voone's vice grips 2% to hit gloves and a tarnished elven ring, and you've got 101% if it is in fact 95%. You'll sacrifice a bit of dps, but it'll be way worth it in the end.

This has to be the ultimate rogue scope by far though with their missrate. PCB or Satyr's Bow + 3% hit = <3

I can make this on Eonar-EU (Pereidh, Horde), cost of components is total BS though. The Lava cores alone are going for 99G each on my server, and dark iron is 3G/bar.

Level 50 Scope that increases my chance to hit by 3% so out of every 100 misses I get to hit it 3 more times...Think 10% would be more in line for this item.

You have obviously never played a hunter to 60 with good gear. With talents and gear I have up to 17% to hit. Though I usually only wear about 8% (+3% from talents) = 11%

Out of my last 31266 Autoshots, I've only missed twice. that's a 0.0% chance to miss. If you don't believe me. Here's the screenshot.

I also have this scope, but I'm waiting for Crossbow of Smiting from BWL to equip it. Currently using Dragonbreath Hand Cannon (Ebonroc, BWL)

This scope is the reason why hunters should NEVER get priority to +hit gear that is also good for Rogues and Warriors. This enchant alone is equivalent of a ring, neck or bracer slot.

Some earlier posts from 2005 mentioned this to work for melee hit and the 50+ rated post here explain really well how it was changed to only affect ranged hit in Vanilla:

WoW Classic is running the last Vanilla Patch 1.12. Meaning that we play on a version of wow. Where the scope has been already changed to work only with ranged attacks.

This is also underlined by the item tooltip: "Use: Attaches a permanent scope to a bow or gun that increases its chance to hit by 3%."

The grammatical structure is mentioning that only the bow or gun is affected.

The Schematic: Biznicks 247x128 Accurascope started dropping with the Dire Maul Content Patch mirroring the "fix" time in Vanilla.

If this were to work for Melee it would be super cheap, better even than Drake Fang Talisman and absolute must for any Melee. Since it's not working for Melee you won't find it on any Melee BIS List.
