I went to 29,47 in The Hinterlands, fished from 14:25 - 14:35 and got the following:

- 13 Raw Sunscale Salmon ( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=13760 )
- 14 Raw Redgill ( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=13758 )
- 4 Lightning Eel ( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=13757 )

I honestly found that the further out I cast (from the shore) the better chance of hooking a Salmon was but maybe it was just coincidence...

I was fishing with 225 skill and a https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=6532 which ensured I caught something every cast and I leveled up as I went. With the above catches you can make:

- https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=13932 - This is orange at Cooking 268
- https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=13930
- https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=33866 - save your eels for the lvl 70 daily quest reward recipe!

If you have your fishing and cooking up to 225 you should be able to hit 300 with both in about an hour or so...

I pulled a lot of sunscale salmon out of the moonwell in the Temple of Zin'Malor in Azshara. Also plenty of Redgill, Oily Blackmouth, and some Stonescale and Lightning Eels.

I think they removed the times for the fish. At 10pm server time I was fishing both nightfin and sunscale from outside scholomance.

Wanted to say:

I have fished at the entrace of Scholomance for the first time (251-258 fishing skill w/75+ Bight Baubles Lure)@ 6:15 est and I found the following to be true from the first 20 of highest batch to be accurate:
20 Raw Redgill
4 Oily Blackmouth
7 Raw Nightfin Snapper
6 Sunscale Salmon
6 Mithril Head Trout

Actually an excellent place to farm these fish is in Strathholme, as the drop rate is over 50% (confirmed by me). To find where to fish them up you must defeat one of the minibosses that you would normally to get to the Baron, head into their Ziggurat and fish in the plague infested pools. You will have to spam your cast key because they are small pools, and there is no way you are fishbotting the area as there is way too much animation in the pools.

I found a good fishing spot for these in Shalzaru's Lair near Feralas on the Isle of Dread. Usually about every other one or so.

I don't think they changed the times. I have been fishing in Felwood, which has a 17% drop rate, for the past hour (0200 server time) and haven't caught a single sunscale salmon. I would move up to Scholo but I'm already tired lol. Will try again tomorrow around 0800+ server time. If still no luck it must be the drop rate and will move to scholo or WPL.

Apparently this fish can be caught when the sun is long gone. I just caught one of these in Un'Goro (32,24) at 22:06 server time.

I suggest fishing in Moonglade. I tried other places mentioned and it was taking too long.

Very few casts in Moonglade and the fishy was mine.

If you're doing the salt and fresh water fishing achievements:

12 am to 6 am : Nightfin Salmon only
6 am to 12 pm : Nightfin Snapper and Sunscale Salmon
12 pm to 6 pm : Sunscale Salmon only
6 pm to 12 am : Nightfin Snapper and Sunscale Salmon

Plated armorfish appears to follow the same pattern as the Nightfun.

The drop rates are higher for each fish at their "peak" times, respectively.

Was fished from "deeper" water, which looks white ish (darker spots at minimap)

In Moonglade I caught five fish for the Limnologist and Oceanographer Fishing achievements.

I picked a Greater Sagefish school and finishing and around it in the first five casts I caught...

1. Greater Sagefish - Limnologist
2. Redgill - Oceanographer
3. Mithril Head Trout - Limnologist
4. Sunscale Salmon - Oceanographer
5. Nightfin Snapper - Limnologist

The next five casts brought two more Redgill and three more Nightfin Snappers.

More casts maybe required but it beats making an unnecessary stop somewhere else.

Also if you are a Druid like me don't forget your free teleport to Moonglade. I caught all of this not far from where you port in at.

been selling these for 60g per 20 REGULARILY in the auction. It seems I cant fish enough of them. I split the stacks into 5's and sell for 15g each. The auction is ALWAYS empty of these, and nightfins same thing, 60g a stack.

the moral of this story is, lazy non fishers pay the price later on for not starting early. I made 500g in one day fishing these

Its 11pm server time I caught 4 sunscale and 3 nightfin in about 10 minutes fishing time. I'll try again tomorrow to see if I catch nightfin during the day. I also caught 19 redgill and 4 oilymouth. I'm fishing in feralas. I'm not sure if I'm in the ideal spot to catch nightfin and sunscale.

The best spot I have found for these is in Un'goro Crater at 75.1 56.8. I just decided to try and fish in Un'goro to try and get my fishing skill past 260. Read on a guide to fish at the cave in Ashara at 260 but could only catch about 1 out of 10 casts. At this spot fishing goes up about 1 out of 7 at 260 and I catch the salmon on average about 1 out of 5 casts sometimes two and three casts in a row. Dont know if the time makes any difference but game time was 12:30 P.M. game time.

Found Suscale Salmon at around 2pm ST In Felwood at 38,49 just a little South West from The B on Bloodvenom River. Drop rate was higher than expected I went From Feralas to Felwood Drop rate to me was about 1/3 I was fishing on the Log.

This fish can only be caught during daytime hours (server time) and is most plentiful between 12pm Noon and 6pm server time. Good places to find these are the Hinterlands and Winterspring.

Was fishing for about 50 min. in the river right next to bloodvenom post in Felwood.

Caught 100 fishes.

53 raw Redgill
14 Raw Sunscale Salmon
14 raw nightfin Snapper
10 raw mithril head trout
9 oily Black mouth.

The time was between 22.00 and 23.00
So Sunscale salmon and Nightfin Snappers dosen't seem to care much about the time of the day.

i seem to have had good luck with this in feralas, on the coast. also, there are schools of wreckage so that is nice. and it does seem to hold true that if u get sunscales in the day u get nightfins at night... who knew?

If you look on top of your screen there's a Fished From. Click on that and it gives you a listing of where the fishes are fished from.

I mostly chosen Western Plaguelands for the 50 and above quests and got my Frostsaber Cub at 55 so it eats fish and there ya go.

Swim up river until you can fish directly in the pool under Bloodvenom Falls. In the time it took me to burn off one lure (10 Min) I caught 18 Sunscale Salmon and only 12 Redgills. It's all good though since the other fish in the area (except the lightening eel) are all used for cooking or alchemy and are therefore good money fish.

I got an 11-12% drop rate for these in Feralas from 7:00am - 9:00am EST over 1,000 casts. It was roughly the same for the Nightfin Snappers too. So, if you're lookin' for both, Camp Mojache is a decent place to go.

Well I went fishing for Sunscale salmon today in The Hinterlands. fishing 249 +3 for Blumb Family pole, I brought 10 Aquadynamic Fish Attractors. When I was done using them, so approx. 50 mins fishing. I raised to fishing 269, and caught 43 Sunscale, 67 Redgill, 8 lightening eel's, 12 oily Blackmouth and 20 Mithril Head Trout. I went in the afternoon 3:42 until 4:50 pm. so I find this a good spot for Sunscale Salmon. going back tonight to fish for Nightfin Snapper. I will edit this post after I am done.

Finally caught Raw Sunscale Salmon in Eastern Plaguelands at /way 66.8, 57.9, after around 5 tries. I previously was fishing in other inland waters in Eastern Plaguelands but nothing.)
