Interesting proc. It'll depend on its ICD obviously. But approximating rampantly, just to spitball what we'd be likely to see during the initial progression:
1.5% of 150,000 (raid buffed normal mode firelands dps) = 2250 damage / 4500 healing per proc
1.5% of 165,000 (raid buffed heroic mode firelands / probably normal mode deathwing dps) = 2475 damage / 4950 healing
1.5% of 200,000 (raid buffed normal mode firelands tank) = 3000 damage / 6000 healing
1.5% of 220,000 (raid buffed heroic mode firelands / probably normal mode deathwing tank) = 3300 damage / 6600 healing
So if it were the standard 45s ICD, proccing on CD, it'd be in the region of 50-75 dps and 100-150hps. Non-skill dependant.
The most easily comparable DPS weapon proc would be the
诺卡尔德,死亡之源
and healing weapon proc would be
巨龙领主之喉
, so it stacks up well compared to them... compared to regular secondary stats is a more complex question though.

Arguably this may end up being BIS for frost DW death knights.
Potential best in slot list just from looking at items and not running simulations.
Weapons: Horrific Cleaver which seems typical but I have a feeling that Horrific Deflecting Sword will probably be best in slot due to weapon damage, higher strength, and the proc.
Since the proc deals 1.5% of your damage health in damage I could only speculate a 10% increase in full to a full 397 gearset. Currently I am around 388ilvl wearing and having 140.7k HP. 10% extra would be ~154770. (Not including raid buffs at the moment) We'll round to 155k. So 1.5% of 155k is ~2325hit. That would be raw extra damage generated, with the ability of being able to dual wield it, it would probably have a low proc chance (i really dont think blizzard thought "hey a dk wont use it") In order for it to keep a good consistent usage sword for tanks it would probably need a 5% proc chance (speculation). I think 10% would be far too high. But for guesses let's look at 1% to 10% chance.
1% chance over 300 second fight would be 3 times = 6975 damage or 23.25 dps extra dps.
2% chance over 300 second fight would be 6 times = 13950 damage or 46.5 dps extra dps.
3% chance over 300 second fight would be 9 times = 20925 damage or 69.75 dps extra dps.
4% chance over 300 second fight would be 12 times = 27900 damage or 93 dps extra dps.
5% chance over 300 second fight would be 15 times = 34875 damage or 116.25 dps extra dps.
6% chance over 300 second fight would be 18 times = 41850 damage or 139.50 dps extra dps.
7% chance over 300 second fight would be 21 times = 48825 damage or 162.75 dps extra dps.
8% chance over 300 second fight would be 24 times = 55800 damage or 186 dps extra dps.
9% chance over 300 second fight would be 27 times = 62775 damage or 209.25 dps extra dps.
10% chance over 300 second fight would be 30 times = 69750 damage or 232.5 dps extra dps.
Having two of these swords would effectively be able to double (speculation) their chance of them activating.
Wowhead lists the proc chance as follows:
Apply Aura: Proc Trigger Spell
Value: 3
Proc chance: 15%
But perhaps that is just there for temporarily. If it truely is 15% and stays 15% (i doubt it) it would be insane.
15% chance over 300 second fight would be 45 times = 104625 damage or 348.75 dps extra dps.

Does that mean it's also able to be partially resisted by bosses?
I have a feeling it may behave as Formula: Enchant Weapon - Blood Draining did.
Thanks to my inquisitive and generous guild, I just tried out Dual Wielding with Blood Draining. Here are my findings:
* Blood Draining can NOT double proc like mongoose or berzerking does.
* Blood Draining on two separate weapons shares the same 10 second internal cooldown.
Essentially, there is no point using two weapons with this enchant, as the only gain will be a marginally higher chance to proc outside of the 10 second internal cooldown. Considering the proc rate seems high enough that it rarely falls off when in combat, there is no practical reason to use two of these enchants.
It may theoretically show that you would use the sword main hand and the axe off hand. Who knows but more than likely I do not speculate it having an ICD
Also another speculation is perhaps it may work like Enchant Weapon: Lifeward or Enchant Weapon: Mending
2783 total hits, and the numbers slowly started to stop fluctuating. 2367 of the hits did not proc it. On 416 of the hits, it did proc, meaning that it proc'ed 17.58% of the time.

I don't know how much self-healing warriors get and it might be better than nothing for them. But as a prot-paly I'm not sure how willing I would like to give up mitigation and mastery stats for this, especially if Sunwell / Frozen Throne Radiance makes a comeback.
It shouldn't. There has been no mention of that. Plus remember what caused the need for those two things.
Sunwell: At some point in TBC development they realized they dropped the ball. Illidan was not a compelling end of expansion boss and he wasn't part of the Burning Legion. It was like boycotting Arizona tea to protest the state, but Arizona tea is made by a company with nothing to do with the state. Second, Wrath was behind schedule in development and Blizz knew it. So Sunwell was created to fill in the gap till Wrath and to give a better end boss.
However, Blizz designed the classes at 70/TBC to assume a max iLevel below Sunwell. This meant Blizz needed Sunwell Radiance to counter this error.
ICC: Similar problem. iLevels and gear progressed farther than Blizzard intended. OS+Drakes was meant to be a fun extra. It proved so much fun that Blizzard decided to experiment more with it in Ulduar as a full mechanic. By ToC Blizzard accepted people/raiders loved Heroic Raids and Normal Raids.
However, they didn't intend for the extra iLevels needed for three tiers of loot each raid instead of just two. So once again at the last expansion Blizzard ran into the problem of having players wearing gear far better than they ever intended to be available at 80.
With Cata they hopefully learned their lesson.

It's actually a good weapon for all tanking classes. Don't forget that as stats are right now for prot pallies and warriors, we can already hit ctc cap in firelands gear (don't even need heroic tier). Since secondary stats are going up on all the pieces, the loss of secondary stats on the weapon probably won't make a difference.

This is a fantastic tanking sword.
It doesn't have any secondary stats, but the proc more than makes up for it. Using the heroic Mandible for comparison (143 dodge, 112 mastery), the dodge and mastery on the mandible result in about a 0.5% additional raw damage reduction assuming you're in 378ish gear (it's less if your gear is better) but still under block cap. For a boss that strikes for, as a guess, 250K raw damage every 2 seconds, this works out to be a reduction of about 625 damage taken per second. That 625 dtps is equivalent to 625 extra hps that a healer would have produce if you didn't have the stat points on the sword.
Now look at this sword. Assuming about 200K tank health, that's about 5.2 to 6.8K healing every proc (depending on which version of the sword: LFR, normal, or heroic). For a 15% proc rate and about 1.4 melee hits (including abilities like Crusader Strike, etc.) per second, that's around 560 to 730 hps healing.
So at first glance the two are roughly equivalent, but here's the thing: the proc scales, but the stats (dodge/parry/mastery) don't. Once you're at block cap, extra additions to dodge/parry give significantly less benefit and are subject to diminishing returns as well. For example, if you're already block capped before equipping a weapon, and you get something like the heroic mandible and are able to effectively reforge 100% of the mastery to dodge/parry, the raw damage reduction is only about 0.3% (reducing the 625 reduced dtps to 375). The proc doesn't suffer from that problem, and keeps getting better and better as your stamina increases. It's to the degree that, if you're at block cap, the LFR version of the sword is better than the heroic Mandible, despite being at a lower ilvl.
As additional dodge/parry/mastery become less and less valuable, this proc is ideal. If Blizzard doesn't nerf it (note to Blizzard: please don't), I suspect this weapon will be the Mirror of Broken Images of this tier: a piece of gear that will remain really useful for a long time to come.

Just got this last night from Deathwing
And it is pro.
As a Prot Pally I checked the healing it gave and it was indeed higher than it should have been for 3% of my health (1.5% doubled).
I had about 201,000 health (stam flask and scales of life), and the heals were doing about 6900 each proc. It should be 6k, but what the warrior said was probably right with

for Prot Paladins adding a bit.
I roughly tested it, and there was no ICD, just a proc chance, one time I had 3 heals come in a row, other times it didn't happen for like 10 secs.
It also felt like it happened a lot, like averaged to once every 3.5 melee hits or so (would be faster doing CS and other attacks) so like once every 6-8 secs.
Also, I want to point out that this will make Stamina do more, I took off

, and the proc healed me for about 6500, instead of 6900. I lost about 11k health and that roughly equated to less than 400 health proc difference. Just to point that out.

And I would say it definitely is a 15% proc chance, if not more.

For everyone wondering if this is a tanking sword and if it's worth trading a sword with defensive skill for this one, I'd like to remind you that if you are tanking Dragon Sould and you have reached Madness of Deathwing you are combat table capped, as if it wasn't the case you are doing it wrong, and is enough to adjust your gear accordingly to easily drop the Bethilac sword (or the axe, or whatever you had) to get this one and still be CTC capped.
The dps is insane and just goes through the roof, while the self healing is impressive, especially when you reach Madness as you have buffs for extra damage, extra HP, extra healing... and the proc is affected by buffs or talents that gives you more received healing.

As a prot pally, I recently went back and tanked Heroic Baleroc with this, and with the increased HP on the fight, the proc alone did just shy of of 4.5K dps (19.8% of total dmg done at a total of just under 22k dps). It would probably do more if I had any hit at all (I'm assuming it can only proc on hits that connect.) Ended the fight with it at 6K hps (rest were overheals). On a normal fight it only seems to account for 5-10% of my dmg, but it is still pretty fun.

I decided to try dual wielding this as a blood Death Knight, both Rune-forged with Fallen Crusader (Chance on melee hits to increase strength by 15%, and instantly heal 3% of max health, critical heals from this rune-forge are possible)
Best case scenario:
Death Strike heals 7% health
Drain life activates from main hand swing, heals 3% health
Fallen Crusader enchant activates from main hand swing, critical heal 6% health.
Regular offhand melee swing hits, activating Drain life, healing 3% health
Fallen Crusader enchant activates from offhand swing, critical heal 6% health.
Now granted this is a very low chance of this scenario happening, but it is possible as both the rune-forge, and drain life ability from the sword have no CD, making it theoretically possible to instantly heal 25% of your max health within 2 seconds or so.
Granted, most people will instantly say DUAL WIELD BLOOD TANKING IS FAIL, LOWER DEATH STRIKE DAMAGE MEANS LOWER BUBBLEZZZ, allow me to clear this up now, Death Strikes heals/bubble are completely based off how much damage the death knight has sustained in the last 5 seconds, their maximum health, and mastery (which only influences the blood shield)
So, now that I've gotten that out of the way, the only real downside to being a dual wield blood DK, is the loss of threat, however, if you are using the lichborne spec, for the extra CD, you can easily swap around some talents and get the 3% increased chance to hit/25% increased off-hand damage talent from the frost spec, in combination with the glyph of runic strike, instead of the glyph of heart strike, providing you with a very decent steady threat ability, as this will give runic strike only a 4% chance to miss, as it can not be dodged, or parried, and also generates a high amount of threat. As well as using the Fallen Crusader rune-forge, which gives the extra strength (which provides a small bonus to parry percentage), which also helps make up for the threat loss. This will take away most of the threat issues if done properly.
Anyway, onto the point, with two of these, as a dual wield blood death knight, theoretically, they could heal themselves for 12% to 18% of their maximum health every two and a half seconds or so, just from auto attacks. (This is of course ignoring dodges/parries/misses) Also, more melee attacks will be landing (because obviously more auto-attacks then from a 2 handed weapon) this will typically lead to many more Blood worms spawning, which will be even more self heals.
So two of these swords could be incredibly powerful for a Blood death knight, and could substantially lighten the load for the tank healers.

OK people posting about using these as a dual wield blood DK....stop being damn ninjas. You are the types that ruin LFR for the rest of us because you roll on gear you shouldn't be using. There is no such thing as a dual wield DK tank. Go sit down next to 2H enhance shaman and melee hunters in the retard corner.

OK.. hardcore calculations:
I'm doing this for an average warrior tank AKA 200k hp buffed w/o CDs
200k hp = 3k hit 6k heal
with ancestral vigor (shammie healing buff) 220k hp = 3300 hit 6600 heal
with field dressing (warrior plus to self healing) 3300 hit 7920 heal
(if you're really crazy) Last stand = 30% more health = 286k = 4290 hit 10296 heal
and finally, if you get REALLY ANGRY (enrage) = 4719 hit 11325 heal
15% proc chance means every 6.66666 (7) hits you will proc on average
thus: fully buffed you get 1 heal every 18.2 seconds or 622.25 hps/259 dps on yourself... that's like a priest mastery heal (heal over time). which is VERY nice considering you're providing it, also the dps is not
bad
considering you pull about 10-12k tops (assuming you're average and not special) that gives you a 2% increase on dps.
All around pretty decent wep.
If my math is bad.. whatever.

I did some testing on a dummy and made the following observations:
- No ICD, can proc on back-to-back strikes
- Can proc off of white hits
- Can proc off any melee attack whether it involves the sword or not (shield slam for instance)
- Does not appear to proc of AOE's or bleeds
Pretty much works as advertised.

I started using it as a prot pala FC. It helped me overcome the Vengeance nerf. My old strategy was to face as many enemies as possible and use Hammer of the Righteous to damage as many enemies as possible, with Vengeance I was able to down them very fast. Now, I just try to be mobile so I am only against pursued by one or two melee with tge sword and my health goes down slower than before.
Later, I found some creative uses in PvP ret spec. In some circunstances in arena or bg I get involved into a 1v1 versus blood dk or rogue using recuperation. With

Can proc of the Avenger's Shield bounces on a paladin, not sure about the Hammer of the Righteous but I am 100% certain that the bounces by Avenger's Shield can steal life.
Edit: the proc doesn''t have any cooldown, can proc 3 times in one avenger's shield.

I must be the minority opinion here because honestly, I'm a little disappointed. Yes this is BIS non-heroic (and the heroic is BIS for heroic, dur) for a prot warrior tank and I won't pshaw the chance to get one, but ... it seems they tried to make one weapon for 1H dps and for tanks and kinda screwed the tanks in the process. Upgrading to this whopping 403 from my piddly 378 only gains me minimal strength and stam and I actually LOSE parry and mastery. o_O It just seems that every other class/role has a BIS weapon that's "WOW!", "OMG!", "WOOHOO!" and we get ... "that's nice. kthnx."

Did anybody try to go for Single Minded Fury with two of these equipped, and with all gems/enchants for Stamina + using Rallying Cry to increase damage/healing too? The idea is to deal Fury DPS damage plus drain more damage based on a great Stamina, and receive lots of healing through both swords and Bloodthirst. I wonder if the freak resulting will be usable for any thing, like DPS, tanking, A mix of both, or some sort of DKBlood for PVP. It's worth to try and see what happens just for fun.

This weapon should still be useful in MoP due to the fact that it heals you based on a percentage of your health. It could be very useful for soloing old content.
Edit: I just tested it in patch 5.0.4 at lvl 90 and the sword only proc's for a heal of 5k.

The healing of this sword is low. I am tanking with a Paladin and compared it to Seal of Insight. After testing it in DS and on Gamon i came up with this: The healing of Souldrinker procs are twice as strong, but after each fight it had
always
healed for half of what my Seal of Insight had. This means that my Seal of Insight procs up to four times as often.
As concluding: If you are a Paladin tank and
Really
need the healing, you are better off changing to Seal of Insight and getting yourself Hand of Morchock.
This is an example for Prot Pala, and should no be considered by Prot Warriors.
