I like it, but it will be better if you can join it from distance, not only from Kun-Lai. :)
The feature is definitely fun. And while it's usefulness for encounters in the real world (of warcraft) has been discussed, I simply want to add, that there are raid-encounters, that reminded me a lot of what you are faced in the proving grounds. I'm thinking mainly of the Spoils of Pandaria encounter in SoO, but also every other boss with a lot of multiple targets. So, in a way, you can really train how to play your class in certain encounters, in addition to the obvious handling of your class mechanics. But that's about it. I would have wished for a more varied challenge for the dps, seeing how much problems a lot of players have moving out of ae-damage. The globules are nice as far as movement is concerned but the dps should really have to deal with a group in the way healers and tanks are. The healer challenge is really well done and a nice way to get a feeling for different situations and efficient healing. And while you definitly will have to learn to anticipate the waves, you really can learn how to handle your class well in stressful situations.
Thank you for the time to compose this guide, I have been having mana problems on the gold level as holy priest healer and came here for much-needed advice. However there is something I was hoping for more advice on: as holy priest, I find the only interrupt I have is my BE racial Arcane Torrent (seeing as stated above, the mobs are immune to fear). I noticed the guide relies heavily on interrupts, and even Arcane Torrent has a 2-minute cooldown so I can't rely heavily on it. What are other holy priests doing? Or am I missing out on something really obvious I have that I somehow missed?
Having issues in healer trial where Kavan the Arcanist, Mage Range DPS runs into melee range each group and stands in lava on the ground. Are these supposed to be smart NPCs or just generally stupid?
How do you actually do these challenges? What menus? window? location (waypoint) NPC you talk to?Is it in the guide and i just can't find it?
There is mention in this guide of using raid frames that you can configure to show which party member is being targeted by the Flamecaller. I use wow frames and I don't think it is possible to do that using wow frames. If I'm incorrect, please correct me on that one and advise me. If I am right then I am interesting in hearing which raid frames allow for this. I tried installing grid, but I did not see anyway to configure it to show which party member is targeted by the Flamecaller. I hope someone can help me with this.
At 550 ilvl Full Prideful, this is a complete waste of time when they reduce my lvl to 463. What the FICK does that prove? I go from doing 100k damage per hit to 13-22k. Oh my big challenge, and I sent a ticket to Blizzard stating where they can shove this waste of time.
I'm not sure if anything has changed with hunters since many of the guides were made, but I just spent about 3 hours trying for the silver tank scenario and can't even get past the sixth wave. As far as I can tell it's impossible due to the sheer amount of aggro her aoe pulls combined with her low dps. Here's my setup.Gear is maxed ilvl for proving grounds and balanced properly for proving grounds as survival spec. I'm not a nub, so it's all enchanted, gemmed, reforged, and pve.Flasked (alchemist buff too) and 300 agi food. Engineering gloves.Turtle pet. Misdirect/Mending/Distracting glyphs. Misdirect macro (the right one, not the one where you lose target).Thunderstomp manually controlled for packs. MD almost 100% uptime (keybound to mouse along with other essential binds for this), liberal use of all traps, blink strikes for teleport/thunderstomp on packs, narrow escape and binding for add control, etc.To put it simply, I'm doing things right. She just produces way too much aoe aggro now for a hunter to handle.Even with exploding, binding, snakes, frost (ice trap, I'm getting old), lucky ToTH proc spam of multi, rapid fire, eng gloves on, and even barrage for good measure, that is not enough to keep her from pulling aggro on the foragers. This is compounded by the fact that her dps is so low that the you're usually finishing off the last wave right after the next spawns, which makes regaining control a futile effort before she dies. The only 'effective' method I've found is to single target arcane shot /pet attack macro while using growl and distracting shot to gain control of the adds, however, her heal is so crappy she usually dies by wave 5 or 6 anyways.I've read a lot of bad comments about Sikari, and now really understand why. Terrible healing, terrible dps, and pulls more aggro than a nub hunter using distracting shot in their rotation, and of course doesn't kite adds to the tank. It's like every bad pug player rolled into one npc.
With this guide i just finshed my endless 30 healing challenge thanks so muchnow mastered dps healing and tanking :Dthank you to all involved
the content is based on you having a gear level of 463, also if you are using pvp trinkets in theres they dont help you much at all since pvp power does nothing in there
Would like to have seen a listing of waves for Bronze/Silver for DPS like there is for Tank/Healing instead of just Gold.
I think it is very important to note, that as of patch 6.0.2, you can no longer access silver, gold, or endless trials until you reach level 100.
is proven grounds not working?
