Cool, this will be fun for leveling alts, but I'm still going to turn it off as soon as I hit 120. 30% more war resources for getting ganked 20 times trying to do a WQ isn't worth it since we'll only be getting that buff when were outnumbered.
30% won't be enough. Maybe 100% would make Alliance players give it a second thought, but I'm sure it would still be more time efficient to turn it off even with 100%. I would suggest that they add some kind of bonus to the emissaries too. If you're on the underpopulated faction and complete all 4 emissary quests in war mode then double the emissary reward. That would be enough for me to do a double take.
Does the buff work in dungeons/island expeditions?, or is it just in open world?
I don't know where else to put this, but the AnyClip autoplay videos (even through adblocker) on the right side of the screen has GOT to go. It's egregiously annoying and starts the same video on every simple page you open. It almost makes it not worth it to come here.
It's worth mentioning, that this "while others (usually Alliance) will hardly touch the feature without a dedicated group lest they be ganged up on and hounded the entire time." - shouldn't be the case based on recent posts from Blizzard from hotfixes quite some time ago. The balance is 50:50 in warmode shards that have players of both factions. Some horde will find no alliance at all, but people who get to PvP, should be balanced, as I understand it, at a zone level - with the proviso that a full raid group walking into a zone might take a little time to balance up. YMMV. But do remember observation bias.
As mostly playing alliance chars I would not even be interested if there is a 500% bonus.I have >70% of PvP AVs and over 150k kills but PvP went down the drain for me with Legion and BfA does not make it any better. There is no balance and I blame Blizzard for that.
To fix camping flight points, everyone who lands at a flight point and zoning in via portal/hearth/summon has a 30 sec "enabling warmode" buff (cancelable) that treats the player as if they had war mode off (orange mode). To fix issues at any summoning stone, only when the character is IN A PARTY and using the "summoning spell" would damage taken be reduced by 90% and damage will not cancel the spell. While summoning, there is no way to fight back or heal. Yes, a class with instance heal spell could be essentially unkillable while next to the summoning stone, but the worst case is a stalemate for the pvper. (NOTE: all pets and minions should be pacified while summoning). To fix ganking raid groups, disable all pvp talents and bonuses while in a raid group. You can no longer earn honor or completely daily/weekly pvp quests while in a raid group in normal world. This would limit the benefits of ganking groups to 5-man squads. If you can't complete normal quests in a raid party, why should you benefit from War Mode?I remember in WLK getting constantly farmed trying to zone into Nax... For those that are actually using the raid group to raid, they should be more focused on the raid and not on the pvp. There is still that period before the raid when you are in raid group, but it hasn't officially started yet... I don't have a solution for that. Maybe enable the pvp talents (but not rewards) as long as you are not the aggressor.
Great job! Im horde and i always play with WM on, now that i see it will benefit alliance only i will turn it off, i will be ganing nothing and making the enemy get stronger, so no thx for me and good luck with everyone in the horde turning WM off now.
This comment will probably go ignored because it's easier to blame alleged mechanics.I play on an rp server and horde always has warmode and roflstomps us but faction imbalance and racials are only half of it. The other half is that the alliance community is just terrible. When I die and ask for help in warmode, alliance will tell me to turn it off or "git gud". It's never an offer of help or alternative, it's just insults and put downs.Beyond that, alliance players are too fearful and cowardly. Prime example is current state of IoC which is just a skirmish for WS or even battle for southshore. Alliance rarely plays the offensive. Horde is always one to send warriors and other heavy hitters into the core of the alliance mob to do the most damage. You can cry about imbalance and mechanics all you want but the only thing that will "save" alliance pvp is rebuilding our community (which is sooooo tooooo difficult oh em gee) or blizz just makes the underrepresented faction insanely OP so that 1 person can fight off 3 raids of horde.

Honestly, world PvP should be a leveling only activity. Disable it for max level and for XP-disabled characters. People can World-PvP all they want then, and also get more classes to max level to engage in actual end game content.
So, I'm an Alliance PvP and PvE'er, and quite good at PvP on all my characters. Confident of a win in pretty well any 1vs1 or 2 vs Me scenario, and I have War Mode turned off. The imbalance is so bad on my "shard" that it's consistently 40 man raid vs 1-2 Alliance players. They could make it 100% bonus and I'm still not going to turn bloody War Mode on. I enjoy balanced PvP, but when it's huge kill groups vs one person, nobody enjoys that and it ruins the spirit of the game.I say bring back Dishonorable Kills and penalties for repeatedly camping. Seems simple enough to me and the system has already been in the game. If you' kill somebody > 5 levels lower than you, you get a stacking debuff that lowers your health, damage done, and healing done by ~50% per kill. Kill the same person more than twice, same thing applies, and it happens to everyone in your group/raid. The only way to drop the debuff is to return to a rested area for 15-20 minutes. You decay Honor for time spent with the debuff or have a penalty to your next honor gains (similar to how rest XP works, but in reverse). Boom. All problems solved no matter what your faction is. It stops people from being scummy and works no matter what your faction is and doesn't require sharding changes.
I play Alliance in EU servers, and I haven't seen the imbalance actually, having War Mode turned on during my entire leveling experience, and continued at top level. Sometimes, yes, there is five (or a million) Hordes killing us off at WQs, but a few minutes later we've summoned enough forces to fight back. And sometimes it's the other way around...That being said, I mostly afk in safe spots and run laps around Boralus. I only venture out to do my quests and achivements and to mine nodes. Perhaps I should travel the world more.
I spent 3 years playing WoW on a PvP server because I didn't know any better and because I had friends there. That was the most miserable 3 years I've spent in the game. A fishing quest that should have taken about 5 minutes including flying time to the location regularly got extended to an hour or more because some anatomically or mentally deficient little boys thought it made them big and powerful to gank a mage who was fishing. On another occasion early in Wrath when flying was confined to Outland and Northrend I was present in Taren Mill when a ? Level toon flew up from South Shore on a gryphon leading a ganking attack that kept Taren Mill shut down for most of an hour. My guess is that the player on the gryphon was a GM abusing his position. Such actions were not unusual on the Dunemaul server.I transferred to a PvE server and to this day I am so thoroughly disgusted with PvP that I rarely do battlegrounds. I am eager to have exalted reputations with as many factions as possible but my reputations with the Warsong Outriders, The Defilers, The Frostwolf Clan and Vol'jin's Spear are all pitiful and I simply don't care. The idea of bringing World PvP to all realms is a non-starter as far as I'm concerned. I have only had War Mode on 3 to 5 times in the last 3 months and then only when absolutely necessary to prevent phasing. As soon as I'm done with the boss or other activity, I teleport to Orgrimmar to get the War Mode off. No amount of reputation gain, propaganda or probably even money can get me to think that World PvP is anything but a horrible annoyance. I will stick to my PvE server, thank you. Those who like ganking or PvP can play as they wish just don't force that awful situation on me. There are PvE servers for a reason. Let's keep it that way.I will modify my opinion of PvP under one circumstance. As I understand it very early on in Vanilla one could lose Honor for bad behavior. Many times in the past I have advocated for such a system. How about if 120s ganking a 100 or lower lose 50 Honor for the first instance/kill, 100 Honor for the second and 500 Honor for each subsequent instance/kill? I'm sure that the lowbies in places like Goldshire, Deathknell and other starting zones would appreciate the fact that their gankers' egregious behavior has consequences. As it is today, bad behavior to other players in WoW has no consequences. Only if the behavior rises to the point of embarrassing Blizzard are there consequences. Docking Honor for dishonorable behavior seems a reasonable thing to do.
