I like how the artist has kept the original design aesthetics but just added details indicative of the class.
For some reason the Shadowlands artists seem to have a real aversion to color.
I like the original monk design - it's a nice, streamlined samurai design. Nearly all the others are improved by adding the color, though.
I don't know why we have to have such gleaming, glossy over stylised armour sets - its obvious none of them would be useful in battle if only because the weight of them combined with the sheer size that means walking through a door might be problematic, & it would make them unwieldy. I know its a game but really .... I am a hunter and like all hunter sets I have ever seen, no .... Leather, sleek, made for the most moveable class in the game, a class that is supposed to have an affinity with animals which become our pets via love, you notice the little hearts that occur as we tame an animal. Also and nothing to do with this - Zereth Mortis = already boring and I want to be able to tame hunter pets in zereth. Now back to armour sets - get some new designers who dont think big armour is the only wayt to go ... also as a female character I want better protection for boobs and thighs and note on the Sylvannas cinamatic - she has three straps crossing over her rt boob. Maybe you should try it with your man boobs - I winced the minute I saw this .. do you have such little knowledge of female anatomy that you think this is feasible or desired? even Sylvannas needs a break. Obviously I am having a bad day already and I haven't even gone ingame yet. <sigh> I am not meaning to diss on anyone but so sick of the stereotypes coming from women and men for women and men. Just be sensible ... it might actually become a better game. oh yeah - sick of meaninglessly being attacked by small things either flying or on the ground - ease off, its annoying and unnecessary most of the time especially when there were none around at first and then they magically appear or fly in as you are just mounting! I will probably think of other things later ... growl, growl
sorry - more a rant than anything else and probably (overall) not appropriate to the topic, but I feel better now ... lol
While they look tenfold better, the problem is in the design themselves, even with their respective colors, many of them don't look like they belong to their respective class.
man the hunter armor still looks bad just because of that helmet haha
All good except druid looks like a Christmas tree. Druid always gets the worst looking gear sets, so still a slight upgrade.
What we could have and what we actually got.
These redesigns make the Blizzard offerings look downright embarassing.
Yeah all valid points - Doesn’t make sense yadda yadda but it’s WoW ..give us some bad ass cool colors and nobody cares anymore about being thematically true
I don't know why the armor design team is so scared of color. The fan set is just so much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Give this artist a job Blizz
amazing. every single one of them. I could even tell which class is which ,by simply looking at the coloring.
i would grind out alll the things for all of these sets. good stuff!
grats to the artist but maybe don't remind people of that hood
IMO this edit took away the first ones theme and made them another class set with stereotypical characteristics
Cool artBUTthis is just the sets with some extra bling. Maybe a complete re-design would make them pop out more but as they are now the sets are just lacking that something
Amazing what a splash of color will do but it seems they were deliberately aiming for the faded antique look imo - so while this looks cool it also sorta breaks the theme as they're all no longer easily identifiable as belonging to the same tier of sets. And tbh the class colors are overused on the tier sets so even though this is some cool fan art i still prefer what we have.
