Want a simple fix, have teams play on template characters to they don't have to worry about not having a "main" who is better geared and run it like a tourney where teams can ban certain specs. Make it about who is the best most well rounded team and not which team is the best at the busted classes. Another thing is the devs changing stuff in live to make a "better e-sport" should never ever happen. Like they said e-sports should match the live game, but don't go changing the live game like nerfing Shadowmeld to help an e-sport that truthfully is a small niche part of wow. The bigger issue is the busted design of mythic+ runs and what they force players to do for an edge, not that Shadowmeld is some busted ability.
So triggered seeing them call out Shadowmeld. Seriously, it's incredibly selfish and stupid to call out a fun and normal ability for 99.99999999% just because a couple of people don't like it in a niche competition that only like 100 people in the world watch at a time.Sorry MDI is not popular enough to ruin abilities ... at least I hope it's not. They need to stop their selfish whining and move on.
It would be absolutely ridiculous to nerf shadowmeld across the board simply because people abuse it in the MDI, change the way it interacts with the freaking affix don't destroy the ability that has uses and people like. The thing that I hate about the MDI is the fact that they basically can make a character for the tournament realm, swap covenants, faction, etc on the fly - it's all so pointless. They should play with the characters they have as they are, this might (and I stress might) lead to some more variety. Also, the UI for the MDI still is not great.
Are you viewers now considered slave drivers, because the people you watching are getting half minimum wage? That is something interesting and the whole shadowmeld speeches, maybe nerfed only in MDI as you don't see groups on alliance going "need night elf <class> <covenant>" with the <>'s being optional. I see covenant and sometimes specific class (usually moonkin) being asked for for 15s+ never a night elf. Also, why do you need a night elf anyways? You got sap imprison and mind soothe - they do pretty much the same thing and let you skip a pull you do not want. And they are not alliance locked, this looks like more of a way to make sure noone plays alliance at the competitive end (MDI) so they can roll their normal superior horde racials.
It is absolutely #$%^&*ed to nerf shadowmeld... Why would you nerf one of the most fun racials in wow, just for a lame tournament like MDI?How often do you see 5 NE group on live servers? how often pugs ask for "NE only"? Just make prideful mobs have unlimited aggro range and can detect stealth, problem solve. Nerfing it because of something that less than 1% of players would actually do? #$%^&*ed. lol

Honestly, Blizzard might as well let us actually choose what key we get. The gear is not good enough anyway, so if we can choose our key, we're not actually really being rewarded for it, except with a chance for potentially better items with similar or worse item levels. We'd still need to wait for the vault every week, even when valor becomes available. And if those who can run and time 15s consistently get to choose their dungeons.. well, they likely have a few groups they run with anyway, so they'll usually have whatever key they want available anyway.Giving us the option to change our key to whatever dungeon we want does not create a problem, but I reckon Blizzard probably thinks there is. Millions of people have been subbed for two months now, and even if we had more deterministic loot, we still wouldn't be done. But Blizzard doesn't want us to ever be done. Not even 79 or potentially 106 euros per player is enough for Activision Blizzard.
just disable mdi. it clearly makes people think thinkgs like meld are the problem :\
suggesting a nerf to a situational racial that is literally only useful for mdi (which is nothing like actual m+) is really silly...if SM got a nerf it should only effect mdi....please...i love that racial
Don't you dare take my shadowmeld away just for some stupid competition.Remove racials from MDI leave everyone else alone
The solution to make MDI more popular and more enjoyable is simple. There are 36 specs in the game and across all possible 3 games every team has 15 spec "picks". Just make it so they can't pick the same spec twice. This would not only make the MDI more dynamic and enjoyable, it would also give people who play non-fotm classes something to watch, to learn from the best and to insert better into the situation. I know as a prot warr I probably wouldn't see my spec represented but at least I could have seen someone play rsham (which is my alt) instead of disc disc disc holy disc disc? Seems like a nobrainer but maybe the MDI is not supposed to actually be fun?Just to clarify what I mean, let's see team A is going against team B in the following dungeons: SoA, HoA, PFThey can say "where is our vengeance DH absolutely mandatory and where can we afford to bring a prot paladin or brewmaster? where is the uncapped AoE of the fmage going to be the biggest benefit and where can we bring other specs with less losses? Should we stack our OP specs on one dungeon or spread them across all 3? Should we frontload our best specs and bet on winning both of the first two games or leave some strong specs for the 3rd game in case something goes wrong?"but nahvengeance, disc, fire, WW, unholy, boomkin, MMwhat did I miss?
Nerf VDH! How many times do we have to say it?
They should just ban Shadowmeld or nerf it, it's stupid that Warlock, Shaman, Paladin will never see play no matter how good they are simply because they can't be Night Elves. When a single racial ability is worth more than an entire class toolkit, it need massive nerf.
After seeing how triggered night elves are getting in these comments over the mere suggestion that shadowmeld get nerfed i want to see it nerfed even more. I for one am tired of every M+ being 4 night elves and a pandaren for me.
