It doesn't count if it isn't in-game, sorry. She looked like a major, selfish, wienie.
"This will be a long and brutal occupation for my people. Now excuse me whilst I hearth back to Stormwind."
I really want to be able to read theese novellas(just like I read Before The Storm), before BfA, without having to buy the game one more time. Thank you for letting us in on the story this way.
I understand that it does "count" in lore, but come on, how many people playing the game are gonna go dig and try and find out if that's what happened or not? Why should we have to do that every single time there is some kind of NPC interaction? Just put it in the game! If it makes the quest dialogue box longer, fine. People who don't like long dialogue are skipping it anyways, let's be honest here.WoW is, in the end, a game. The story about the game should be IN the game. Just my opinion.
99% of players, myself included, don't bother reading the novels - none of which have ever been particularly good. If it doesn't happen in-game, the vast, vast majority of the player base doesn't know, or care.
Night elves suddenly horribly weak and Horde suddenly ridiculously powerful.
so actually the light and elune stopped saurfang (and my character) only when tyrande appeared? or i misstranslated something?in this case, this still dont answer why i couldnt kill malfurion myself, insteand to watch saurfang going full dumb...
Just as well we have books and such for the lore, as even if it was in game, I suspect the majority would still miss it because so many people don't bother to read quest text, stay and listen/read dialogue as it plays out, and a lot of people wouldn't bother to play both sides and thus get both sides of things in the story. Books allow people to fully enjoy the story in ways it's not really possible to do so in game, we get to see both sides in a more in depth way and we get to have/read introspection that we wouldn't be capable of seeing in game. And yes, the books are canon, as are the audio drama stories.
Yeah Tyrande would totally die if she returned to Darnassus, it's not like Elune watches over her and watched over her even so many ages ago against Legion, but sure let's throw bs excuses because Blizzard can't write Alliance in intelligent way. Also, this is pure inability on their part to not be able to reflect all of this in game. You know what would be enough, if when someone returns to SW, they don't talk to damn Anduin but to Tyrande instead. No, we need to listen to generic bs from Anduin because reasons.

I swear that there is someone at Blizzard who really hates the night elves, I can't think of any other reason that their race has been continually treated like useless garbage that has to be saved by smarter and braver humans and has lost all interesting traits the race had back in WC3.
Thank you so much for sharing it. I still think it's ridiculous though, how so much storytelling and info is taking place OUTSIDE the game today. Immersion down the drain. Sigh.
