the most epic thing that has ever happened to me was when i downed Kael'thas sunstrider with a fireball tick, me and a shammy were the only ones left alive!, i even completed my T6 set that day!
Must have been the first time I got the Stoppable Force. That was indeed epic :D
Winning the roll on the Bloodfang Helm with a 2. (The other rogue rolled a 1)
My "most epic" drop ever wasn't a drop, per se. It was me finally being able to walk in to the Champion's Hall after weeks and weeks of PVPing on my Paladin. Remember way back when... before "honor points" were a currency? When you had to dedicate yourself to PVP to reap any true rewards? When there was no such thing as cross-realm battlegrounds, and everyone knew each other? Well, those were awesome times.I logged in that Tuesday afternoon, saw that I had finally hit rank 6, and proudly walked in to the Champion's Hall to look around at this relatively rare zone. I remember feeling so "cool" when my friends asked how I got in there.I miss the old days, way before BC came out. I have 3 gigs of screenshots, 4 years worth of WoW, I LOVE looking through them and remembering old friends and events. :)
Most epic loot I have ever gotten...well the one I'm most proud of more than any is my little pet Azure Whelping. Now most people don't consider pets like this one special or anything like that but for me this little guy really is. I don't care if he doesn't have a blue or even purple name, I'd like him just the same. Dragons have always been a favorite of mine and to have one following you around constantly is something I really really wanted more than any epic gear I could have gotten. As soon as I found out that it was an available pet I wanted it, and I wanted the blue one. The black, red, and emerald dragonflights were nice, but the blues had been at the top of my list. I originally looked for one on the Auction House(hopefully even able to find one), but at the time I was new to WoW and 1200 gold was all to far out of my reach at lvl 55 and as a ret pali who hadn't bothered to lvl his professions, all that more impossible. So then I decided that I would go get one myself, though I must admit the 1/1000 chance drop rate caused my hopes to drop it didn't discourage my determination. I grabbed some quick supplies and took the flightpath out of Orgrimmar and into Azshara. Now the Azure Whelping only drops off of Azure Dragonkin, and lvl 50-54 elite Azure Dragonkin at that. At lvl 55 with only greens and maybe one or two blues on this was going to be one hell of a challenge. For the next couple of days or even maybe weeks I would just simply log on and kill the dragonkins, dying a good deal of times and having to compete with one of the server's bots. As a seperate excuse I was waiting for one of my closest friends to lvl her priest up enough so that we could go to outland together, so that left me with alot of free time on my hands and since it was "lolret" at the time, instances were out of the question. I must have grinded atleast 3 lvls and killed over 400 of them before that little guy dropped. I still remember where and how unexpected it had been. I killed a Draconic Mageweaver to the south of the buildings, and moved my cursor over to reclaim the loot. Honestly I couldn't believe it when I read the item. "Azure Whelping" in white letters, the icon of a dragon on it. I was in such disbelief that I checked here on WoWhead just to confirm it. I twitched with joy in my seat and typed in /dance to my bloodelf for atleast five minutes before actually reclaiming my prize. I immediately equipped it and brought forth that of which I spent so long farming for. I loved how the little guy floated there in the air, his tiny wings fluttering and his small roar sound he made when clicking on him. I must have just sat there in excitement and "/dance" for another five minutes before deciding to head back to Silvermoon to show my friend. I always kept him on my actionbars and always kept him in my inventory, and I still do even today. For me he represents my determination and will to succeed. He is also to me a good luck charm and I will often take him out when raiding for just a little bit more of a morale boost. I love it when I get the occasional whisper from other players "Where did you get that? I really want one." My response "The lvl 50-54 elite blue dragons in Azshara, good luck. Its a 1/1000 drop and took me over 400 kills"
the most epic loot i ever got would have to be my T6 Gloves of Azgalor, cause right after that we went into Black Temple and i got Mantle of Darkness in the same night.-Saruto
the most "EPIC" drop i have ever had would have to be the T7 Gloves (Heroe's Redemption Gloves) i got them shortly after hitting 80 and the group i was in was not the best, we had a warrior that went afk to make a sandwich mid fight and kept getting hit by the walls of lava. so keeping him up and the tanks was quiet a feat. gotta love the noobs of wow. but after we downed the boss the token dropped for the T7 gloves and i was the only possible person to roll on it, and i won it with the almighty "1" out of "100"
Epic Loot from Zul'Aman, Not a Bear StoryI never got into many Zul'Aman raids because I was under geared and my guild had a fairly regular team. So when they asked me to fill in for a chest run I jumped at the chance. After several hectic battles where I managed not to wipe the raid and only die once we reached Hex Lord Malacrass. On his defeat he dropped A Tiny Voodoo Mask. I rolled and won!The Tiny Voodoo mask is my favorite item that I carry with me always(even into Northrend) and use to drop three voodoo clad gnomes at every opportunity witch usually draws a couple of laughs.
I had just finished getting my Accomplished Angler achievement, and the only fishing one I had yet to get was Old Crafty. I play and alliance character, so it was destined to be no walk in the park. I set out to the Valley of Spirits, and was able to arrive there hiding safely behind a rock without too much trouble.I started fishing, and as with every other fishing grind, I got into a zone of catching and casting and such. Over the first few hours, most Horde characters that saw me let me be...I was only killed one or two times in that first few hours. After 600 or so casts, the "This item will bind to you on pickup." dialog came up. In my fishing groove, I hit my keyboard button to cast my line again, before I could react to the drop window. I looked over at my fishing buddy stats, and I did indeed catch Old Crafty. The problem, was that when I recast my line, it dropped that loot window, and he was lost, into the dark nothingness of oblivion, for all time. I could have cried. It was all I needed to be done with fishing. From this point forward, I decided that using a mouse-only fishing style would eliminate this error in the future. I cast my line for another 6 hours or so that night, until 430 am or so....I went to bed that night without the achievement. The next day, I logged right back into the same spot I was at. I fished for about an hour or so, before another player decided to camp me. After he killed me twice, I waited as a ghost by my corpse to see if he would leave. He stayed for another 30 minutes, so I just revived, hearthed, and did my daily quests to pass the time. I went back to my spot a few hours later, and was able to fish relatively unharmed for another 6 hours. At this point, I'm somewhere around 2200 casts with one catch, so I'm thinking he may have dropped on one of the casts I wasn't able to click in time. A friendly rogue showed up, and we partied up to hopefully ward off attackers. We chatted a bit, about fishing. He had told me he just started his fishing career that day, and had succeeded quite well for only a few hours of work. Within 50 casts, he caught the elusive fish. I cried a bit, then he politely used his Hearthstone. I went to bed that night without him, yet again. The following day after that, I logged in, and luckily, there were two other players attempting to catch him themselves. I had explained to them my plight, and they had guild members whispering to me about doing an Old Crafty dance for us. I fished on and on, for a couple hours, watching my casts for Valley of Spirits rise. Out of nowhere, he dropped for me right around 3100 casts. I cried. I finally got that achievement. I was so happy not to be between that rock and the wall anymore. Now, because of all that, I don't have too many reasons to fish anymore.
My most epic battle was against Prince Taldaram. We started off with bad server lag and 2 dps died right away. We got him down to 30% and the last dps dies to his Embrace. Paladin tank and healer left, we get him to 5% and the healer dies. I blew everything I had and killed him with under 200 hp left and no mana. ><
My most epic loot ever was the Carrot on a Stick...this quest for this was long to get with the mallet and jintha'alor and all that pre stuff...but when that hydra emerged and we kiled it i was so happy running 3% faster lol.
Took me a while but I think my most epic drop was when I was going through DM for the first time. I'm a hardcore horde player, I'll make an alliance to play with friends but that's it. I had never heard of Dead Mines till a guild I was in offered me a run, I was a Blood Elf hunter at the time. Had a hard time getting there but I was enjoying going through the new area and looking at everything. To my great surprise, I got Blackened Defias Leggings, I was shocked to see a set at such a low level.I was then told about the set, and how the hardest one to get was the blue off the last boss. We keep going, greens weren't dropping too well for me and the kind lvl 60 running me, but then to my greatest shock, we killed VanCleef and the chest drops. I couldn't believe my luck, I literally jumped out of my chair and screamed in joy. I got two pieces of a leather set I had never heard of before and one of them was the hardest piece to get.
