I would love to see some 1 min CD to reset both eclipses, so we could have control for specific situations.
God, please don't let it end up like WoD. I absolutely hated that mechanic. It would be nice if we just used Starfire as the spamable AoE spell instead of part of the single-target rotation.Like, Wrath could grant you an Eclipse that makes your next Starsurge do more damage, and Starfire grants you an Eclipse that empowers Starfall.
Everyone has their own opinion, so I'll throw in mine as well (:I like the "pendulum" playstyle, as it is unique. Balance druid is one of the top classes by rework count ^^ There were atleast 4 unique takes that I'm aware of - WoTLK, (didn't play cata much so not sure), MoP, WoD and Legion (same as BfA). WoD take was the worst, as there were little to no player control over rotation, it felt like guitar hero - you were fed what to click and just clicked it. Yes, it made rotation easy, but it wasn't fun. Personally for me MoP was the best take, yes you had "unfortunate" situations where you had to cast st spells in aoe situations, BUT you had control over it. Legion take was "fine", but if you want builder-spender gameplay erm... you have pretty much any other class that does it.
Umm... I'm assuming they mean Lunar Strike not starfire (the dot).
as someone who leveled the old-fashioned way as a Balance druid back in 3.2/3.3 I really liked the old playstyle, didn't think too muhc of Cata so I was Bear/Tree, then Cat/Bear for MoP, & WoD I was Cat/Tree, in Legion I absolutely HATED the Moon mechanic, it just felt like you had to interrupt your rotation to cast a really slow spell, the faster variants hit like a wet noodle compared to Starsurge, rest was cool, BFA I like, it just feels really busy.Point is, proof is in the pudding, keep an eye, & provide feedback when you've actually TRIED it, & not at a target dummy.
What if you could control the eclipse exclusively by balancing your astral power spenders?
That doesn't sound very useful. Casting Starfire without a huge amount of Haste feels like an eternity. I use it only for aoe/cleave or when it's empowered. And, of course, Balance Druids have spent the last expansion training our fingers to never cast the same spell twice in a row.
why dont blizzard re-work or remove the eclipse systemits '' controversial '' ( their words & myn ) and seems to be very boring and hard to work around in the current state of the game. Listen to what the players want and give druids big AoE damage through starfall and strong dots ( which multi-dotting procs instant starsurges ) It just seems when blizz '' sticks to their guns '' ( original idea ) the game ends up like BFA
Feels and looks like they might be reaching back to WoTLK. Back then boomers could spray out damage at the top of the meter consistently IF they were set up correctly. If you had a good grip on your build and how to use it, the damage output was unquestionable. And Boomers utility was unmatched. It would appear we are heading back in that direction. For those of us who exceled at doing this back then, we are going home troops. Back to where we started. Been a Boomer since TBC release at the portal, I do not consider this a bad thing.
