Just put that sentence in bold on all your marketing and the subscriber total will soar!Millions have been waiting. And now he is back in a position where he gets to make decisions! HELLL YEAH!
Christman come early? Welcome back metzen
A New Golden Age has begun at Blizzard!Jesse McCree is gone and Chris Metzen is back!ALL HAIL THE SECOND AGE OF BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT!
Single player 100+ hours open world RPG in the Warcraft setting could be huge tbh. Doubt they will put resources into it, but it sure sounds like hell of an idea.
I don't want World of WARcraft with war between two factions anymore...I want WAR with MORE factions! People not getting along, alliances broken, old enemies banding together to form a new pact. Make it messy like the real world! Have a group of Forsaken accept Sylvanas back and kick them out of the Horde to form a new faction. Create a faction just for warlocks who get kicked out of the main two factions. Have more areas and cities get attacked and change hands. The RTS games had way more life because the world would change, political tensions, cities destroyed for good, betrayal around every corner. This is not Animal Crossing super friends dungeon raiders. It's The Walking Dead Mad Max with demon space goats instead of Zombies. Plus talking zombies.
Welcome back Shaman!
Been playing since Vanilla and never got into the lore and story that much, but tried to follow it somewhat (hard when you don't regularly raid as a lot of story conclusions are locked behind boss kills). But in DF it's gotten to the point where I am just skipping most quest text and even cutscenes because they are just so melodramatic and cheesy. And seems like it's too often about regret over past mistakes and "trying to understand". Don't know that this announcement will change anything but I'd welcome a change in the tone that has crept in lately.
While I have a HUGE dislike of Green Jesus, I'm looking forward to see if the team he's lead will make wow head into a better direction than BFA/Shadowlands did
Kinda wild that Blizzard managed to completely whitewash this dude's history. Did everybody forget that he was an executive at Blizzard when the majority of the @#$%ed up stuff happened? Did everybody forget about all of the sexual harassment happening under his reign? Did everybody forget that multiple victims came out on twitter saying that they directly talked to him that they were being sexually harassed and that he chose to ignore them? #$%^ing hell people, are our memories (or morals) that bad?
Excellent. Now the story and world building will move into the right direction. Now we need massive changes in the gameplay which has suffered greatly under Ion reign. Away with the catering to tryhards and few hardcore guilds. Bring back 10m Mythic, remove lockouts and day 1 crossrealm. Remove Timer design from M+ and redesign it completely. There are MASSIVE problems and a good story cant fix everything. We have had 3 expansions in a row with Ion now and so far it hasnt improved with a few exception in class design. But Dungeon and Raid design needs huge changes or the game will be dead soon.
Just one W after another for Blizzard huh?The reality is Blizzard is done. They have little talent left, they have very bad leadership and management and they have very little names left in their companies that are recognizable by their community. Metzen being one of the last big names they have. Making Metzen anything does not make or break the company. The company is already done. WoW has for the most part been blessed with good content. But let's be honest, the trading post and twitch cosmetics will not be the highlights of your WoW experience when you look back what you did the last half year in the game. But while they are not the highlights, they are the downward spiral we are on. Part of it. Also messy design decisions like the Evoker legendary rarity, the gold paywall of crafted items (and legendaries in Shadowlands), the bad optimization and design of dungeons for m+, the completely missing customer support, there is just so much. and it all get's worse be the addon while we copium ourself into believing if we hold out a little longer it will get better. Blizzard will find their footing and if we just buy the new cosmetic from the shop they use that money to make our dreams as gamers come true. But why should they? We just paid them so they think they did right by us.I think Blizzard is as a company in a state where they cannot, not even as a lucky punch, produce a good game any more. All they can do is fall over their own feet trying to produce a mess. Diablo 4 should have been a really easy game to make. It was super clear what people wanted and what people enjoyed. Look at PoE, at D2, at D1, Torchlight 1. And it was clear what people did not want, Look at Every Torchlight that came after the first one, look at D3 before RoS, look at D Immortal. They could not for the life of them make this game good. The graphics are nice, the sound and voices are nice, and a couple other heavy crafted things. What is not nice are the management related things. Like the shop, like the gameplay that is crafted to feed the shop, like the decision to open world - so people see what others bought in the shop. The greed of making a multimillion dollar title and having to massively profit from it is ruining Blizzard. And every big name has realized that. Metzen maybe has as well. Maybe not. I don't blame him for staying there. But to think him being appointed anything will bring the AKB tanker around and bless us with another good addon like WotLK would be naive. It is just a sign that Blizzard has no more names left
