There is no version of these with 25000 health that you can only see when your faction controls Wintergrasp it seems, nearly all (all, I think) other element types have a 25000 health version in Wintergrasp.

Edit: As of 3.1 there is now Mature Lasher. These have 25200 health and you can only see them when your faction controls Wintergrasp, just like the other elements all have their own 25000 health big brothers.

When you are grinding this I found it very usefull to enable NPC names. You can find them much easier now :)

Probably the best for farming Crysallized Life, which is still not saying much.

The high rate of ganking does spice up the grind.

In case anyone wondered (like I did) if it's possible to herb those when you have killed them, I can tell you that you can't herb those when they are dead.
So no double 'Crystallized Life'-drops, which you could experience at some mobs in TBC (with motes, obviously)

Great for farming Eternal Life; the crystallized life drop rate is pretty good, and they often drop greens, which can sell for your repairs. And the respawn rate is very good.

I killed at least 55 of them as a ret paladin. Every time I attacked one, my first attack was always a crit. I have less then a 25% crit rating, so I think it's safe to say the living lashers are "sitting down". That is to say, the first attack a melee person does will be a guaranteed crit.

I've found that a good way to farm these is go from the entrance to The Steppe of Life around in a circle, then go kill a Shadow Revenant or 2, then go back and they should respawn by the time you get to them again.

Edit: Tab also helps immensely when farming these. They look like big three leaf clovers.

We can skin these guys now, WOOHOO! :D No more grinding herbs hopefully, let's see what the drop rates from skinning them with Herbalism are now.

These can be "skinned" by herbalism but the earth elementals cant be mined .. why? Unfair imho

Out of all the NPC's used for farming Eternals in Wintergrasp, these have the lowest drop rate for them. AOE grinded about 25 of these and only got 3 drops.

Okay, I know some of you have wondered about the crit...melee will destroy these things for a two major reasons:

1. Though their names are in red, they do not aggro you if you walk over them. I personally use ctrl-v in order to see the name plates, and have never been attacked by them. Therefore you can run into one, stealth, then kill. Or pop trinkets, then kill. No rush, no worries.

2. If you notice they are embedded in the ground or "rooted" if you will. Now, this counts as a character who is sitting down (NPC's that roam south of Venomspite are a good example) or a player in PvP who is sitting down (usually to drink). Now, this means your next hit is a 100% chance of a critical hit! Therefore, if you sneak up on these creatures, don't just auto attack, use your specials like Ambush, Ravage, Crusader Strike, Mortal Strike, etc.

Anyways, hope this helps melee and encourages you guys to farm a bit more :D Happy hunting.

*A note, I am not sure if you can get a guaranteed critical strike with spells...but you can with melee.

As of 3.1 I believe, these both have the 25k HP versions that 100% drop crystallized life and aggro when people get near.
