I didn't find one single crap of this monster in the area mentioned in the screeshot. ACtually I didn't find it anywhere in this map!

The reason you weren't able to loot it, most likely, is the NPC's attacked first OR did more damage to it before it died. The loot information is from those lucky or fast ones that managed to attack first or did more damage. This is the only answer that makes any sense. Find it rather odd that it drops clam meat being an insect...

i have the quest and i was the only one that attacked him (besides the NPC's ) and i wasnt able to loot him.

In order to attain badge quests(logistics, tactical, combat) from Windcaller Kaldon in Cenarion Hold, you need to take unsigned field duty papers from him and venture to one of two camps in Silithus in order to have one of the named NPCs there put their initials on them.

After reaching the camp belonging to your faction, you wind up having to fight a large insect. The Alliance face off against this, a wasp the size of a giant, and the Horde have to kill a Hunter-Killer, which is either a huge Reaver or Tunneler. Can't remember exactly. It can be a tough battle, but you'll more than likely have quite a bit of help from other players looking to turn in their own quests, as well. This is a good thing, because the NPCs you've been sent to speak with are rather weak and need considerable support or else they're going to die. The dead don't really sign papers very effectively.

As far as the bug featured here goes, it has a rather unpleasant poison cloud that deals heavy damage over time and an annoying whirlwind snare. The Abomination likes to chain these abilities together, which will often lead to you being trapped inside the cloud, unable to move. The bastard hits pretty hard, too, so be careful if you're fighting with minimal player support. I suggest a group when trying the quest. Anything less than a few others with me and I usually run, especially if there's not a healer with us.

Killing this boss is very easy, because you have an army fighting with you.

Just keep the MT up by healing or bandaging, and watch your own health and you'll be fine.

I soloed this as a 60 rogue, you don't even need to heal Blackanvil, he's got someone else who does it to him, it was so easy, just took a bit of time. Absolutely no problem

It is rather easy to solo (with NPC assistance) this thing. Just load up the dots and fear it whenever it is going after the dwarf leader or the female dwarf that heals him. If it is attacking anybody else, let it keep attacking. Just keep its hits against the leader to a minimum. And if it goes after you, just lay off the damage and try to keep yourself alive till it goes after someone else.

For a Dwarf Priest this is also solable. The main strategy is to keep your mana up to keep the Captain alive. At the very begining of the fight put fear ward up on the Captain and his healer. Then throughout the fight keep Greater Heals on the Captain. Do not spam them or you will piss off teh abomination and it will come after you. Just keep yourself in a bubble and greater heal the Captain with a 5 to 10 second gap between heals. For good measure throw on some dots on the abomination.

If the captain looks like he's going down, throw on a renew and spam him with some greater heals, and the moment the big bug turns your way Fade out.

With a little practice, this isn't a problem.

this is a handy tip for melee fighters and rogues, melee fighters to avoid the poison cloud stay outside the circle when u target the thing and believe u won't b out of range and for rogues get 5 combos and kidney shot and when it's on it's last quarter of hp keep eviscerating and use a interrupt spell to stop the cyclone

done this event twice and havent got anything out of it, havent been able to loot the corpse or anything...whats up?

me and a few ppl kited it around sithilus for about 10 mins, was hard due to the stuns, and the dps from the npcs was about average ok i guess. no loot=, unskinnable

- And you can't heal him

I've killed the abomination about 12 times, and every time the Captain dies.

Anyone have any ideas how to solo as a dps-poor class?
