I kinda hope we can learn more than 2 professions.
Crafting orders sounds like a GREAT idea, hoo boy. Might be able to actually use some of my old mats on that one.
Would like to know how this affects previous profession items and if they are going to expand on optional crafting reagents for old items.
"Soulbound items crafted for you, whether you know the profession or not!"Make that soulbound item BOE instead? Or have an entire new AH-like system to make a soulbound tradable. The idea of having an item soulbound to that profession in the 1st place was for the uniqueness for having that profession, a slight advantage of learning that prof. And now this... likewut...
This revamp is so beautiful!
I really hope this Is backward compatible, so i can do good old stuff too not just resent expac
Seems decent :)However, what crafting professions really need is viability in both progression and endgame. Alchemy flask duration and engineer brezz and wormhole are sort of mandatory for your mains in 9.2, because their perks outvalue others by a mile. During progression double gathering (like skinning+herbalism) was sort of mandatory, because those mats were worth a ton of bucks. Give us a reason to push crafting professions early, like having access to gear Ilvl which is on par or even exceeds current pve gearcap, without blocking it behind an invisible wall like rep grinds or materials from timegated content or having the unique status. Make them worth spending your time on.
I'm gonna be blunt and honest, crafting quality seems to be an absolutely awful idea in a game where min-maxing is a default mindset. They need to tone it down, not introduce more.As for the crafting orders, seems okay but I have a feeling it'll either be a dead feature a couple of month into expansion or legendary crafting v2.0 where you'll have to either tediously level up certain crafter for your BiS or spend enormous amount of gold on this highest-quality exclusive item to be made by someone else. Maybe if they'll look really close after it, tweak and prune and don't abandon at the end of an expac it could work. Otherwise... seems unlikely.
Player housing when?
They don't need to reinvent the wheel with that proffesions revamp, just don't make them useless after 1 week after expansion launch. All i ask.
Crafting will still be worthless if we can't even get close to normal / heroic raid ilvl gear with it. I don't think that it will change that much with scaling, probably the upper end will be something like we have currently. Why would anyone put so much effort into something for lfr quality gear?It would be cool if professions could be relevant for gearing (w/ enough effort). The current 262 ilvl optional reagent may be a good example for that but the unique part ruins it. If we'll end up with something like this then it won't make a difference.
Gathering professions should become like fishing: everyone can learn them. Either let us learn all of them or let us pick 1 or two, but stop making them take up one of our 2 crafting spots.
Can’t freaking wait mannnnnn. Gonna open up the shop and craft shifty goblin rockets and whatever cool devices they give us this go around. Definitely excited dude.
