No thanks, I don't want to run around in 8 year old content. It's fine to add it in addition to all DF dungeons though. You wouldn't want Siege of Orgrimmar to become the only Mythic raiding option either while DF raids are limited to heroic.Old content is bad. It lacks accessibility, it's not designed for modern WoW, mechanics are horrible and poorly telegraphed, the graphics are dated etc. Legion TW is already a perfect example of how even relatively recent content isn't up to par.No.
Thing is, does old dungeons really need to be reworked / updated with modern mechanics?Aside the dungeons that have been updated with MoP and WoD, the affixes might just be enough to keep the experience fresh - first 2 dungeons in mind, though they're long dungeons, are BRD and Gnomeregan.BRD in itself I think will loan itself really well because you have gauntlet-ish runs, careful pack pulls etc, also the flame keeper room would be rather interesting. But that's just my opinion, dungeons like WC might need updating but who know, the old dungeons that haven't had a revamp might just need something that the affixes bring.
I don't even think Cata would be that "bad" tbh. Yeah probably wouldn't do Grim Batol or whatever, but Blackrock or Tides are probably more suited than something like Bloodmaul Slag Mines. Also, complexity doesn't have to be a deciding factor on what makes it in, because while it is true that on average fights are more complex now than say Cata, there are still patchwerk fights like Myza's Oasis or the 3rd boss in HoA which have next to no mechanics whatsoever.
There were plenty of good mechanics in cataclysm dungeons. Heroic deadmines comes to mind. Vanessa was like a raid boss. Grim batol also had lots of challenging boss encounters. It's a shame they are going mop+ only cuz of the challenge mode dungeons
A lot of people might not realize this, but there are a couple of revamped Old Dungeons from both MoP and WoD that could be used in the format.MoP had Scarlet Halls, Scarlet Cathedral, and Scholomance.WoD had Upper Blackrock Spire become a heroic dungeon, sure, but there was also revamped Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul, and Razorfen Downs which were revamped in WoD as well but they never mentioned it.
the fact that we are going to only have 4 new dungeons in the first season is actually really sad. That is like the funnest thing in the new expansion tondo. Also, I really despise doing old dungeons and it has never appealed to me or anyone I know.
Ah, there goes my hope for Cata m+.
So no +20 ragefire chasms or stockades? Missed a pvp chance there! Now to see what dungeons drops cool trinkets in that pool of expansions that is even viable for m+. Sounds like season 1 or start or ever new dungeon pool is going to be rough for balance. Like really rough.
I think the bar should've been set at Cataclysm. Some of the dungeons like Heroic Deadmines, Blackrock Caverns, and Lost City of Tol'vir would work great in a M+ format.
There's obviously plenty of dungeons that would be unsuitable for M+, but I really wish Blizz wouldn't draw a hard line here. There's plenty of fan favourites they could do up over time. But maybe that's the long term plan.
I really don't understand this, they say they want to keep the m+ scenario fresh not wanting to farm a trinket like soul ruby every season, no we will have to farm all new trinkets. I haven't seen any mention about previous season loot. Will they allow us to keep upgrading season 1 m+ loot into season 2 ? Because this "fresh" idea they have for m+ is donkey balls. What's the point of having "new" dungeons if you have the regrind your gear again, just because a chest piece or a trinket has a different name doesn't mean it's refreshing.
DONT DO SHADOWPAN... nobody enjoys it
I am fine for a game play perspective, but its weird in a loot/gear perspective isnt it? Unless instead of getting NEW gear every time, we have currency to continuously upgrade previous gear?
Inc M+ BRD, all bosses must be killed lol
