There was a leak of the Jailer's original appearance a few months ago (someone posted a pic they took at Blizz HQ) that made him look like Extreme Titan Santa. I'm glad they went in this direction.

I call BS. They changed his appearance in response to the leaked picture so people would still be surprised about it. That being said, I think it looks ok. Maybe it’ll be cooler with some special fx or something..or maybe when they add the crown..
Hmm, so he's really just an ordinary bog standard dungeon boss looking edgelord humanoid... Hopefully the story will flesh out his character so it feels like he matters and lends more intimidating weight to his role than his appearance doesI'm still dubious this is the actual Jailer... It's got to be just some joe schmoe from the maw. I mean he doesn't even have a crown, nothing at all like that silhouette
I've recently read a book from Neil Gaiman about the Norse Mythology. Seeing the Jailor, i see some connections to Loki:- Loki was chained in the underworld until Ragnarök and his insides were put out, and the Jailor remains a hole in his chest.- Loki was a half giant and one of his kids was hel. And in WC helya is also very connected to the jailor.- In WC Loken was the chief jailor of yogg-saron and maybe the reason of all his and sylvanas fight of unchain is to "heal" the curse of flesh.- Maybe the next expansion after Shadowlands is Ragnarök of Azeroth?Just some ideas. But maybe i'm totally wrong...Have fun!
Well that's disappointing. He just looks like a white/grey human. Not intimidating at all :(
he looked way cooler in the features video. Now he kinda just looks like a try hard edge lord dom with a bald head. Did they remove his crown because they were worried people might confuse him with the lich king or did they think that ugly scowl was cooler.
Old Model / concept art was better then this. Boring bald beardless regular looking human. Looks like the took the default human model and just recolored it and did some changes.
People need to read the actual post. It said the model shown is a LESSER Jailer. That means there are more than one Jailers and there is probably one that looks far different and more intimidating, however, I don't think the Jailer is evil because it is part of life.People are assuming he is evil, but perhaps he is being controlled by something greater.
Not sure if related, but I see the jailer has an open hole in his chest. Then I go to my battle.net app to log in and see an ad for defeating the Soulflayer in classic, and it has an open hole in its chest, too. Is there any correlation, or is it all totally coincidence? (I'm not a lore guru)
