Sorry, even after reading those, Sylvannas is still as one-dimensional as she can get.
Their incompetence for not implementing all this info in the game in the first place.
It's not that we didn't want to read, but it wasn't available yet... So Blizz, still your fault.
Oh, so it's the players' fault for not doing the extra-credit reading assignment. I see...
The story in game should all be available in game.
Probably a bit irrelevant since it's other company of video game journalism, but are you going to cover PCGamesN interview with Senior producer Michael Bybee? That they are not going to do to Sylvanas what happened with Garrosh, and she isn't just Garrosh 2.0? The other interview cover the same subject.
They honestly want us to think that Teldrassil wasn't a big deal "Go read the Novellas. She is just morally grey". So from the look of it they are going to do a redemption story for Sylv. All those innocent people that she burned alive were garbage and deserved it.Oh and look they finally said something about Alliance's view about Teldrassil burning. They gonna make another tree? Why I have a feeling it is going to be somewhere in EK. If night elves are going to leave their sacred 10k year old homeland for a bull^&*! "peace" I am really going to lose my $%^&.

I don't want to be that guy, but with paying for their expansion and a subscription every month, I expect to get the full experience - which should include the FULL story. Sure, have books and such outside the game, that's great, but nobody should have to go elsewhere to understand one of the most prominent characters right now. Blizzard has demonstrated their poor storytelling again and again. I'll not even mention the amount of lore inconsistencies that's present all over the place.
If the story was well written it wouldn't require numerous interviews to explain the major plot points. And nobody should be expected to read novels or comics to understand those plot points. If a tv series said you need to read some novel during the off season or you'll be lost next season, it'd most likely lose any credibility.
"He also discussed the challenges in telling the story of the pre-patch, spread out among many mediums."Maybe don't slack off and put the damn thing into the game instead of leaving it to some writer to cover up developer's lazyness?"Tyrande's heroic actions"Does he mean the massive amount of failure after failure that they put Tyrande through YET AGAIN?It's amazing how Blizzard standards for proper portrayal of Tyrande is to have her be useless and fail at everything making everyone else look better than her. Let's not forget A Little Patience, that pinnacle of narrative, made entirely so Varian would look better than a 10 000 year old Night Elf general, who ended looking like a spoiled little girl, getting told to be "patient".Seriously, these interviews are such desperate attempt at doing some damage control. The massive influx recently of them kinda confirms it.
I think it shows a problem when they have to repeatedly assure us that more story is coming and that it will explain everything. It should not have happened in the first place, no?
Why are they going out of their way to white wash what Sylvanas did? It seems like they are counting on players not having read the stories because the stories, specifically Elegy explain how the burning of Teldrassil was not simply 'destroying the home of the night elves', it was a massive genocidal attack that wiped out most of the race and it was done by the Horde. They also seem to think no one is aware of the lore from WC3 trying to compare Teldrassil to Nordrassil? Wtf? Malfurion set off the wisps to kill Archimonde as he climbed Nordrassil with the intent of draining it. Sylvanas torched Teldrassil and all its inhabitants with the intent of genocide. There is NO comparison. There is no going back from this, but these bastards will find a way to stuff the BS down a night elf player's throat again and tell them what they like is supposed to be the Alliance. I can see it now, the nearly extinct night elves, under the poor leadership of pushovers like Tyrande and Malfurion will 'build a better world' by leaving the land they called home and moving in with their 'new Alliance friends', for the interest of peace ofc... Wiping out the race would be a better alternative, maybe they should just buck up and do it instead of this slow poison.
