Only took about 4 days for a response to all the forum posts about it. Better late than never at least
With all of the reports of missing items, duped gold, or missing gold... coupled with people being unable to buy specific items or sell them, this whole thing has been a fiasco.
Hey, it's sh*t but better now than with Dragonflight release right?
i hope they fix it . we know they working on it. next months will be a hell for they kudos
What could possibly go wrong with 1m people trying to buy at the same time, when 100s trying to post new ones, in a sequential database, on an old system with old code...? oh... (Yet system programmers have been developing lock, update/fail, release code as standard sub-routines since at least the mid 1990s. Large commercial companies use automated-load bombing framework programs, to stress test transactional databases with millions of users. They have lead test designers & test teams to develop & run min-max test plans to run alongside the auto-test with human test-breakers to do the strange things (like item-sniping by half-price under-cut posting 1 item, scan repeatedly, buy 20 from person not paying attention, cancel 1, repeat; or, Goblin buy-out of 4000 to reset price, fail, repeat until successful). Large commercial companies have a DB Manager & analysts on 24-hour call-out to manually un-stick the records on the rare occasions the live stuff still glitches, because customers will complain if they cannot buy your goods. Guess that's modern IT departments for you. I can see why old-timer commercial IT folks are frustrated that this happened across so many items & has a 2-3 day ETA to fix the data, unless they mean it's to perma-fix the fault(s) that are causing the issue?).
On the bright side, someone in the EU is going to be delighted when they do finally unstick Feasts and they can buy out 230 of them that various people not paying attention have posted for 1s...
Well, it has had some issues. That first day was total wild west time. But hey, it allowed me to sell nearly all the old crap that was littering up my alt and guild banks, so I'm happy.Sure, a few things might have gone MIA, but I consider them acceptable losses considering I now have so much space in my various banks.
You know the 1 thing that they did "right" in their plans to implement this whole thing? They raised prices on vendor crafting supplies so that you couldn't take advantage of the incoming low price of AH mats to vendor flip crafted items at the end of the expansion. Good job on priorities here blizz, can't have a few crafters make gold before the next expansion... (And yes, I bought the next Epic Edition with legally obtained gold from being a true crafting/vending/AH using goblin.) Example: Penumbra Thread
Blizz-" Let's merge all the AHs into one giant mega AH. What could go wrong?"Bots-"Hold my health potion."
As of now my auction house is officially closed.
If they just left the AH alone, everything would have been fine. Fix things that need fixing, stop trying to revamp or spiff up things.
3 days? What am I supposed to do without the Auction House for three days? I need to buy my legendary. As a result, I can’t do anything. There’s no reason to even play the game.
