So that's why i had this weird behavior from my twitch app for the addons
This is good. Hopefully this will do the same for Betas and such.
Shared assets FTW!
But... what will happen when the ptr and retail games are not on the same drive? My retail is on my ssd drive but i don't have enough space there for the ptr...so i have it on my other hard drive.
Hmmm.... I'd never install the ptr on the same drive as my main wow install to begin with...Sure, makes sense in terms of shared assets, and perhaps reducing download size n all... but still... unless Blizzard is offering to buy me a bigger ssd then... no benefits for me.
What about the Wowhead_Client? I can't make it work :(
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
My addon folder is not in the retail folder. Is that bad?
Warning: the game deleted my log files when it made these changes
>Starting in Tides of Vengeance, all your WoW installs will have the same root folderActually, this part of it will probably not go live in Tides of Vengeance. So far, all 8.1 is doing is moving the folders down a level (into _retail_ or _ptr_ or _beta_) in preparation for that change. It's not actually combining them all yet. You probably could manually combine them all yourself, but as far as I know, the actual client isn't combining itself yet.My guess is that will happen in Patch 8.1.5 or in some future Battle.net App update (which could happen at any time, technically).
$5 says they'll also create a _classic_ directory in there as well in the future.
