Are the prizes out yet?
Do you see any winners? :)
Guys, if you mouse over the Community tab at the top of the website, the bottom option on the first section of the drop-down menu is "Contests". That page lists all the current and previous WoWhead contests. When the winners have been selected, the note at the bottom of this contest's entry will change from "Contest in progress!" to "Winners have been emailed!"Be patient folks, we'll know soon, don't worry :)
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
It's was been very interesting contest. I hope in future contests such this will be more.
When are the drawings? the end time passed already and no names hav been posted nor a date for the drawings at all
So to shed some insight since some of you are getting angry about a giveaway not having instant turnaround... which is not a thing I'd like to see continuing, because it puts a damper on these awesome giveaways :/When a giveaway is of this size especially, we take several days to determine winners. in the case of this giveaway, we have to check for fraud and identify the sources of winners, check for duplicate IPs, and so on. There are over 150k entries.Keeping all of this in mind, also keep in mind Wowhead has 3 devs on staff then Perculia as well as a part time writer (who does not handle contests). There's not a lot of staff to go around and they all have other tasks, where a huge patch arrived this past week and a major expansion is coming up.Contests easily take 1-2 weeks to resolve, sometimes more; they're something we do for fun on the side, a lot of time outside work hours, just to add to the community. So expecting a turnaround within 24-48 hours is pretty unfair.I personally work full-time on our League projects (LolKing and LolAnalytics), but I pitched in by doing the questions to this giveaway simply because Perc needed some extra hands; it was overtime for me :)

Thanks for the answer.
status changed to :Winners: To be announced; emails will be sentGood luck everyone and thank you wowhead for fun contest !
Perculia hey I won the contest and I was late with sending you my information are you still able to send me the headset and pets?
I can only speak for myself, but the frustration I feel isn't because the turnaround isn't instant. It's because for people who don't win, it's not always evident the contest or giveaway or whatever is over. We're left hanging. Plus, it's some consolation knowing somebody got a goodie. Part of the excitement in contests/gambling is when the non-winning participant can think "well, maybe next time". There's a contests page, but not everything that seems like it's a contest gets listed there (examples this summer: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7). We appreciate the contests, and realize it's a lot of work to manage them. Listing each contest on the contests page and posting "open", "determining winners", and "winners have been emailed" could be a part of that process.
We've always had quick giveaways that don't always make it onto the contest page - we've been doing more of them recently to highlight site features, and it gets people excited about our awesome tools. Things like scavenger hunts or beta keys take more work to set up, and fit in better with our contest tool framework. Contest pages require additional time to set up, artwork, modifications to an admin-only panel, and a bunch of little data things to sort out - vs simply contacting winners, giving them an achievement, and leaving a quick comment in the post with the name so everyone else can see. Since these are meant to be quick and simple next to something like the Legion Scavenger Hunt, we're keeping the process easy for the staff handling these giveaways. If we were forced to create a detailed contest page for every single small giveaway, I would simply do less giveaways.Frankly, it's discouraging to hear, after running giveaways for years, that we'd forget to pick winners after a giveaway and leave people hanging. Why would we want to scam you? What would we gain by lying about giveaways? Like Ashelia said, these are mostly for fun that we do outside of work hours and it's not a great feeling to hear that people don't trust us to pick winners after we spend thousands of dollars on prizes each year. We don't pick winners instantly because there's several steps that have to be done as Ashelia explained, and if you look at contests other sites do, it can take a while. Blizzard's Selfie Scavenger Hunt started in May, and in July they were still finalizing early winners, for example. It's normal that prizing will take a few weeks to sort out and to trust that the staff is working behind-the-scenes on it.The posts in your links have stuff like "Simply comment letting us know what your main spec is for 6.2 by July 9th for a chance to win!" - but if something isn't clear still on when they're over, we're open to change that.
I totally agree Perculia I find the contest that you guys do great for the site and to help people look up certain things. I don't understand why people are pushing and stressing over this. I mean you guys put all the hard work in creating and taking the time out for all of us. Again thanks you again for the great contest plus I really enjoyed doing this one. xD lots of hugs xD
Ive used wowhead forever but just recently signed up, i think you guys do an awesome job, im sure with such a large number of users and small staff this can be overwhelming. Just keep up the good work :)
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I in no way intended to say I thought it was a scam or a matter of trust. And like I said, I'm not frustrated by the winners not being picked instantly. Being left hanging isn't an issue of thinking something untoward is going on. It's more like, "whatever happened to that giveaway? wait, did I forget to check that email account at the right times?" Just a few comments ago, there's a person who won a giveaway but missed it. I don't think the giveaways a contest page for each individual one of them, just a listing on the main contest page (or perhaps a page with just a listing of active and concluded giveaways). It would also show to your users the great volume of giveaways/contests you do. You've done 8 this summer (7 giveaways and 1 full blown contest), and as a user, that fades into a hazy memory not long after submitting the giveaway comment (I would have guessed 2 giveaways and the midsummer contest). A giveaway summary listing would add some excitement for us (the whole, "rats, maybe next time" aspect), and would add appreciation from us to the wowhead team for your effort and the thousands of dollars of prizes.
