In his art I really enjoy the way he brings the character to life. I would love to see how he would portray my Main Colbey, the Ret Pally. Really wish I had gotten my mom's artistic skill, but alas I didn't.
Wow, these are really awesome. Seeing these portraits like this makes it feel like Azeroth is a living, breathing world. Being reminded that each person has a story and a life they have/are living. Fantastic! I would love to see how my hunter wears his life story in his portrait.
i like the details and how they come in life the characters!.if i win will be asking for a portrait of my female undead mage <3
I like the personality in his faces. Solemn, mischievous, cheerful, or deep in thought -- they look like distinct individuals. If I win, I'd love to see my draenei hunter looking pleased about her latest mount.
That profile of the troll in the rain... I can't look away. It's almost haunting how well he captured the sadness. I need to know why the troll is so sad. Also I want to hug him.
I absolutely love @Runesael's work! He's got an incredible style and makes grayscale images pop with intricate lighting and shadowing. I'm also honored that we mutually follow each other on Twitter. He's not just talented but also a super friendly online presence.
Congratz fellow Swede!:)Honestly what I love is the humor in some of the work and the color combinations. If I were to win I'd love a portrait of my holy paladin.
The detail on the faces is incredible. Either my Worgen or Blood Elf DK wearing the Challenge Mode armor. I'd love to see how he draws the face beneath the mask.
Your works look totally incredible. I really love them, they are just perfect the way they are. If I won, I would really love to have a portrait of my main character as an avatar and background of some of my social media.
Oh my gosh, what gorgeous art. I especially love the use of color and hard shadows, it makes the image come alive. I'd probably ask for a portrait of my shadow priest for her RP profile. :)
I love Runesael`s fabulous work! She captures the real essence of her art. It really comes from the heart. I hope to see my gnome warlock captured like that. Keep up the awesome work!
I love everything about the work, but mostly the attention to detail. I'd love to have my monk drawn!
While I love his art, his story behind the art was really inspirational. In a world filled with such hate, I'm so glad to see people being positive and making the effort. It takes courage to be kind. Let love light the way! I would love to have a headshot of my demon hunter being mischievous :D
I love the contrast between the bright, living colours of some of the characters combined with the dark background. Really makes them pop out. I would be absolutely thrilled if I had artwork like that of my main character: a grumpy Gilnean doctor.
I'll admit that it was the art giveaway that made me look at this feature. I've always wanted drawings of my characters, as I tend to write about them incessantly, or at least I used to when I role-played back in the day. These days, I'm just posting haiku and pairing them with pictures--either my own or others' (note: I am not an artist, but I can certainly appreciate the art and work of others; when I say pictures here, I mean, mostly, screenshots--or actual pictures I've taken--which are few and far between.) That said, I was SO glad I took a moment to take the time to read this feature.Rune, you are both an amazing person and an amazing artist. I loved looking at your twitter account--the cat pictures, the art, the people you retweeted. I think I added another billion people to my twitter follows. One of my favorite tweets of yours was of your early sculpture works. They weren't perfect, but they spoke of a love for little things--details, and that's something I can see in your artwork. That landscape of Corven is amazing--the little details on the tree trunk in the foreground there--it made me fall in love with the place. You write here the way I want to see all people writing--from their heart. Your comments about kindness immediately resonated with me, especially in these times and days. I noticed, too, that you get tired after doing art, and I think that's because you pour so much of your heart and soul into your work that when you get done, you've expended a great deal of yourself in the process. And that, more than anything, is something I would love to see someone do with my characters--especially since I put so much time and effort into them as people--not just pixels on a screen. So, that's what I'd want to see for my Channyn--your heart and soul expressed in loving detail based on my idea of her. Like you, I like to play healers in games; I guess that's just an extension of my desire to bring healing to the world, too. I'm legally blind; so, I know the pain and frustration of having a disability. I've seen people be dismissive and people seeking to understand, and I believe the world would be better served by the latter than the former. Your work is a lasting testament to the idea that people with handicaps can offer just as much to the world as those who do not have them, and that we can all benefit from the beauty, love, and kindness of others.Thank you, WoWHead for doing these. I think you've just made a life-long lover of these articles. <3
I like how there is sharp contrast in the colors of their colored works, yet the finished work is still smooth and isn't jarring to my eye. Good work!
I like that there's emotion in the character faces - with our in-game avatars, there's some customization but not much. When you take it to art like this, you get the chance to see it personalized. That being said, I have a somewhat haughty, occasionally silly blood elf mage that would love a portrait.
My favorite part of Runesaels work is his attitude and modesty. I think his genuine love for what he can do shows in his work. I'd love to see my druid (my first wow love) be drawn in similar fashion. Good luck to all and good luck to Runesael in his future endeavors!
I like how realistic it looks~If I win it's totally gonna be my Sin'dorei mage~I wanna see her cute bun hairstyle handled by Rune ;3
