I haven't participated in this, but I will admit that I am now encouraged to re-examine my gold situation in game. Before, being miserly, I always have enough gold because I rarely spend it. Now, I ponder the least amount of effort required to purchase play time with gold.I have 4 level 100 garrisons and I think I am bringing in 30K/mo. from that, but I haven't really done the math. Assuredly, if just logging in and running missions and selling salvage gets me 30K blizzard will have to nerf.
If I can buy it at near 20-25k yeah I'll pay my subs with tokens from now on. Money is not an issue for me but still it would feel like wasted money
I am somewhat addicted to buying these - can't believe I get to pay for 'free'. At least free to me, if someone else is paying for it! Paid up through end of the year, have to force myself to not buy more, since don't really need them yet!
Well, as stated, you can get 7500 a week by soloing 25H Cata raids. That's... maybe a 3 hour commitment per week, accounting for things that might have difficulty like Spine of Deathwing. 30k a month isn't overly difficult, I could manage it almost 100% passively with enough treasure hunter followers. :P
I got to sell at the lucky 31,215 gold high. Funny, that at the time I worried I could get more if I waited. It was worth it tho, got me my first passenger mount Reins of the Travelers Tundra Mammoth and the heirlooms I didn't have plus the heirloom mount. Will make running alts much nicer. The $20 was not bad, I love WoW just don't have much time to play but when I do I enjoy it.
I honestly expected the token to go for more than it does. I was thinking more around the 40K mark. Maybe it will change over time but 20-30k seems like a steal for those buying it.
The current trend of the wow token sales looks like its costing blizzard a fair amount of gold, i wonder how long they will continue this systems without making some changes. They surely cant continue giving away large amounts of gold with every purchase as it seems they are doing at the moment.
This price fluctuation is exactly what I expected with this bizarre AH model Blizz introduced.Only the genius-morons at Blizzard could fail to figure out why PLEX worked so well in EVE, and introduce their version so badly. I expect the price to circle the drain like it's now doing for quite awhile. We might have seen an increase once gold buyers hit their limit, but with a US-wide "market", I don't expect that to ever happen. I'm not sure with the current gold faucets in-game that the price can really get below 20k (also Blizzard has put in an artificial price floor), but I also doubt it'll get above 30k again. Gold buyers can buy 10 a month. The average token buyer has no need for more than one a month. That Demand mismatch might be what causes the price to go even lower. That is assuming I'm wrong and Blizzard hasn't put an artificial bottom on the market (Currently I'm betting it's 15k, only because I expect we'll see for sure if it's 20k very soon) still delivers more gold for less cash and does it faster.(All price predictions good for limited time based on Wow's out of control inflation)
I thought they would probably go up since so many players have boatloads of gold. At the same time I had doubts about it. I bought one token for cash to see how he system worked, got my 30k gold, and was surprised when I checked a couple of days later and saw that they were just above 20k gold in the AH. I now believe that they will never hit 30k gold again.
Can you get the graph to show volume sales too, i.e how many tokens are up for sale and how many are being bought.
People really underestimated the amount of people willing to buy into the system for the gold. Said it before, will say it again... people love spending money on impulse.
can i change to Eu price Tracking WoW Token Prices On Front Page
This is a great addition, thanks!
