Looking forward to adding the Dragonflight CE to my collection :)As I recall the Dragonflight pre-order string was found in 9.2.5 PTR, so I don't expect the digital Pre-order until 9.2.5
good, if they open pre orders, that means they have "release by" date, which means they run into the "might have to officially delay" problem, or worse, the "release it even though it's not ready" problem. They're going to buy themselves time with SL S4 and WOTLK classic. SL is going to get real dry over the next year.
with pre-order starting they have to give a fixed date of the latest possible release date. if this is already set to be in 2023 it would overshadow the announcment of the expansion entirely and nobody would give a sh*t about it. with not opening pre-order they can set focus on the expansion itself. I would guess that pre-orders start when E3 would have been (june) or gamescom at the latest (mid august)
Idk how people think it is coming out this year at all, on average expansion is announced then about a year later it is out(Legion announced August 2015, came out August 2016, WoD was announced November 8th 2013, came out November 13th 2014)I'd be glad if it did, just doesn't seem likely
Shut up and take my money.
I have completed dragonflight already.Elite Tier Gaming here boys.
The fact they did the reveal without any ETA, even a vague one like Q1 2023, heavily suggests they aren't even at the point yet where they have an inkling of when it will be ready. It's gonna be a while, folks.
Not really that's 7 months more they can work on plus all the time in SL they said they've been focusing on what comes next with no big systems being added and literally re doing 4 old dungeons already in the game there's not much new content that would take too much time for as little as we are getting this crap better release by like January at the latest because according to them they cut so much stuff to have more time on the new xpac which again isn't bringing much also how sad is it that the big feature of this xpac is another dragon mount but this time with complicated flying mechanics!Firstly, Theres going to be 8 new dungeons, but only 4 will be part of the M+ rotation in season 1 alongside 4 old ones, the other 4 will be available in all difficulties up to mythic. Second, I wouldn't say complicated, just something actually interactive which is actually a good thing as it takes out a handful of peoples gripes with flying. Plus the customisation collectibles etc means its not just your ordinary mount. Do I think itll be released this year despite this? No. No big new system no, but the revamp of talents and crafting aswell as a new class and race, it'd be nice if they took their time, listened to feedback for once and go from there :)
The CE will probably be a new type of dragon body and extra customization for dragonriding.
They didn't talk about when it would release either which might, together with no pre-order, indicate that it's going to be a while..
Yea.... no, i need to see Alpha, Beta, the bad stuff, them changing the bad stuff, the promises made in blood before i preorder another wow expansion. Hopefully we will get all those things but in the mean time why don't you lot stop being Blizzards unofficial PR division and trying to generate maximum hype and good will for something we know basically nothing about.
Why I'm want a mount if the dragonriding mount from the expansión itself Is way more capable? I see now all mount just downgrades now specially since look like they áre gonna be slower than dragonriding tooThe pets maybe
Could very well be that there won't be any pre orders for Dragonflight if WoW becomes part of the Xbox Game Pass. Given that the Game Pass gives you access to all Microsoft titles at day one it wouldn't make sense to sell an expansion which you will require the game pass to play anyways. They will likely have the usual mount, pet, and cosmetic bundle sale but won't sell you the expansion itself and that's why they are holding back on it.
this was actually the most shocking news of the day on tuesday tbh ...
I could still see it being released this year tbh, but I suspect they are giving themselves more time on that. With the change in Overwatch 2's release schedule, WoW might be more free to release late if Overwatch takes the Q4 release slot as it were. In previous years this expansion would have likely been announced at Blizzcon in November and we'd be getting the beta in a month or two. If it is still releasing this year I wouldn't be shocked if there's a relatively quick alpha because I suspect the expansion is further on in development than we know. I also think one of the interview's or Holinka on twitter or something said they want to fully release info about the talent revamp soon (before the alpha I think) so they can gather lots of feedback. I think of everything the talent revamp is the biggest challenge so the sooner we get that the better. I'm sure a 2023 release could only be beneficial but I wouldn't be shocked if they go for November. Partly depends on 9.2.5's release I expect, if they can they probably want to avoid a massive drought a la WoD to Legion
