Burning Crusade was definitely my favorite. I was already drawn into the huge world of Azeroth, and the first expansion just, well...expanded the world (along with fine tuning some of the problems that were in vanilla). The introduction of arenas changed my whole reason for playing WoW too. Oh, and Illidan is pretty awesome.
I'd have to say The Burning Crusade. I had only started playing a bit before that, and the expansion seemed pretty mind blowing at the time.
WotLK was my favourite expansion. Atmospheric instances, filled with chilling cold locations, old talent tree at it's best, nasty bosses with wide selection of mechanics, fixed rotation, 10&25 both per week. And, of course, DKTanks 0/71/0 !
My favorite expansion of all time was easily Wrath of the Lich King; after the scorching success of Burning Crusade, WotLK continued the dramatic raid-style confrontations like Lady Vashj, Kael'thas Sunstrider, and Illidan, but upping the ante with arguably the most tragic and infamous character in Warcraft lore, the fallen crown-prince Arthas Menethil- and making the ENTIRE expansion centering around ending his reign of terror, only achievable by the Horde and Alliance *working together*, a pretty foreign concept at that point!Whether you took your shivering level-70 across the Seas to land upon the frigid wastes of Borean Tundra or to climb the craggy cliffs of Howling Fjord, you immediately faced resistance. Arthas' seemingly endless armies filled the continent: scheming undead insects, bloodthirsty viking-esque warlords, wraiths, skeletons, skeleton-DRAGONS, ghouls, flesh-giants, banshees, lost-souls, liches, and the infamous death-knights made infiltrating a landscape, which was totally under his icy, iron-clad fist, seem laughable. OH- and did we mention that Malygos, the Aspect of Magic, went insane and was now vengeful against all who wielded magic? (No pressure.)As you went, building alliances and allies, clearing dungeons, killing minor (and major! Kael'thas went down hard yet again) lieutenants of Arthas and Maly, setting up fortifications with the newly reformed Argent Crusade, and trying to stall Arthas at every turn, the storytelling and game-play in WotLK was fully realized. Even if the Argent Crusdade took five months off for a silly tournament (mounted combat! whee!) when it came time to finally knock down Arthas' front door, it was an incredible moment. I haven't really had the feeling of being more immersed in WoW since then. The other expansions were pretty good, with even some great moments- but none felt the same, overall, as the polished product that was Wrath of the Lich King. :)
Personally, if we are talking about story line i would have to go with MoP, dungeons: WotLK, Costs: MoP, Talents....Okay fine, MoP wins.
I think I rather liked Cata. The story line behind a lot of the zones were easy to get lost into. My preferences were Uldum's "Harrison Jones" theme, and the evens in the Worgen starting zone.
Well, the favourite one is definitely Cataclysm expansion. It's just because of so many improvements in cosmetics, design, usability available to player comparing to Vanilla, BC and LK. The plot was funny too, eh (GIANTIC DRAGONS EVERYWHERE)
I would have to say my favorite expaction would be cataclysm. Its where world of warcraft started for me. Playing in Azeroth for the first time was just so amazing! ^_^
As much as I didn't think I'd like it, MoP was my favorite. Faction grinding, for certain factions, became actually enjoyable.
If contest still goes on - Im on it!
Wrath of the Lich King. I was already a bit of a Herbalite so the addition of Inscription made it so much easier to make gold and buy stuff, plus the Traveler's Mammoth NPCs made me a huge hit for raids thanks to the opening of the gold earning potential. Things were overall fun. Warlocks got a bit nerfed from BC but after a while I got used to it. Second fave would be Vanilla, 3rd BC, 4th MoP and 5th will be WoD. I hated Cataclysm and left for the entire expansion.
My all time favorite expansion has to be Wrath of th e Litch King! Still wishing I could re do all the main story lines ¡!
Visual update with Cataclysm was really nice. But the atmosphere, soundcrack and quests from Wrath of so cash.I'll stay with Wrath! Best expansion ever.
Even though I started playing in 5.4 and I love Pandaria, WotLK is probably the most epic experience WoW has to offer.
Mine is Wrath of the Lich King because of icecrown citadel's battles and new DK class. Pretty soon WoD will be my favorite because of the garrisons and stuff.
Favorite expansion was Wrath of the Lich King, the last expansion where pvp was almost balanced (not counting death knight)
Cataclysm! It was the first time my Paladin was ever always up to date on every raid tier. Usually I stuck to PvP, but Cata is when I really started getting serious about raiding. WotlK had some of the best lore in the game, though. I actually don't know if I can choose now...Damn. Good luck, guys.
I loved Burning Crusade. It was the height of my involvement in the game, so it will always be the expansion with the most memories for me. After BC, my playing tapered off a bit. Life took over. I hope someday I can get back to playing with the kind of fervor I had then.
My favorite expansion was Burning Crusade for sure. The portal event before the realease was epic!
Burning Crusade, i liked rainbow gear and cool new mounts! And FLYING!
