Perc, just to be curious, isn't the Skull supposed to be a mace like weapon or is it a bit too heavy for that?
What do you mean since the legion launch? It hasn't launched yet?
i very much agree with others who have expressed similar sentiments... this looks like a raid zone, not a creepy building that i would feel more at home with hanging out with other locks. this just seems like it would be like a horrible family reunion in some lifeless park - there would be people clustered all over the place OUTSIDE - not a very bonding experience. it seems hardly conducive to gathering with other warlocks. you'd had to find out where they were hiding first! bleh... luckily legion is a little while a way to get this remedied. :P"And what power-hungry warlock is going to settle for a hovel in some guy's basement or a rotten, crumbling chapel when they can build a temple of hellish fire within a demonic rift unbound by the limitations of reality? One where they have near-infinite space to store forbidden tomes and dark artifacts and are utterly free to practice their demonic magics without fear of disturbing a reluctant host or neighbor?"i see your point Monlyth, but i would honestly prefer BOTH. i want a crumbling chapel (and other appropriately eerie buildings) and an area to go outside and run around a blazing fel-fire casting forbidden magic and sacrifice a gnome or two.
Not enough imps, Unless they are going to add them later they seem conspicuous by their absence ! Surely the little bas*%#=s should be crawling over everything in there causing mischief.Unless they have stolen all the dark books of binding and servitude and hid in the library (that they never showed crosses fingers).
There is one thing i've been wondering since watching the video as our order hall seems to be quite an open area will it be possible to accidentally fall off the edge like in outland or will there be an invisible wall around the edge, not that i really want to fall of the edge on purpose though .
Looks like blizzard figured out we like Scythe-looking-weapons, woot!
I really like the weapon designs but hate the chosen specs for them :( I love affliction and was sooooo hoping it would be a dagger or some other one handed weapon, I just dont see many warlocks in or out of wow weilding a giant death scythe, would have made more sense for it to just be a dagger, wand, or demonic book like the necronomicon or somthing.
The Warlock class hall should've been in a basement complex under Dalaran, Maybe even the sewers. A sect of magic users that dabble in dark arts, hidden right under the noses of the Kirin Tor feels much more better than Demon Hunter Class Hall Part 2.
It's interesting to see different opinions. I play a Warlock since Classic and I couldn't be more hyped about our class hall. It surely could need some more structures, such as book shelves and such but that's a minor point especially as it is still early Alpha. The thought of a dark cellar in Stormwind, Dalaran or another city does not appeal me at all. It's just the same thing we always have had. Sure it is fitting for Warlocks as some kind of outcasts of society to hide in dark places but it's time for something better, something more than just a damp cellar someplace hidden. The next paragraph takes into account how we acquire this lovely place in the twisting nether, I'll hide it for people who don't want to know a thing about, how we get this place. The green fire quest revolves around the Council of Black Harvest and their atempt of harnessing more power. The artefact questline will revolve around this illustrious band of Warlocks once again and in the end we conquer the Dreadscar by killing a pitlord which was in charge of the armies which inhabited the Dreadscar before and by this we will become the new Overlord of the Dreadscar. In other video preview, you can actually see the Felguards on the bridge to salute the passing Warlock. So in essence we are going to take the Dreadscar from the Burning Legion itself which is in my mind probably the most warlocky thing imaginable. No longer will we hide in the shadows to perfect our trade, but instead we're going into the offensive together with the Council. Let the Mages have their city (it's Rogue infested anyways) and let the lower Warlocks have their hidden Cellar were they can train, but we more seasoned Warlocks deserve way more than that. Don't get me wrong I like the Slaughtered Lamb in Stormwind or the Shadow Cleft in Orgrimmar, it's just no longer fitting. The class evolved, especially through the Green Fire Quests. And in my eyes is the Dreadscar a more fitting place to show this than any other place ever could be.If you're still not happy about our little piece of Fel Paradies, consider this: we get chained up Felguards and Imps as our training dummies. Chained up Imps and Felguards.
Personally, my main issue with the order hall is that it doesn't look like an order hall. It's a rock floating through space the twisting nether. I'm in agreement with a lot of people on this; the order hall for warlocks feels too open. Yes, it's "private" in the sense that only Warlocks are able to get there (in spite of the fact that this is something all the order halls have in common in regards to their class) but the space seems far too big in general. Imo, a cave would have sufficed, but this? It doesn't strike me as a thematic fit to the class's identity at all.
Demonology welding a bare skull for weapon? I don't know... some how, to me seems like something is missing... I guess i'll go back to affliction *sigh* haven't used that spec since BC...
Warlocks doesn't need to hide or something for their allies or such but I agree with many others, it doesn't look good for a warlock class hall. Mostly because it doesn't have any buildings at all and way too many demons and floating rocks. Seriously it looks like they are part of the legion here with the amount of demons around and zero comfortables. I can't even see a bench! Where shall I read my dark ominous tome? On the rocks?I don't mind the location. I just mind the huge lack of any sort of building. We are warlocks not demons, we still need to eat, sleep and sit once in awhile (Unless you're undead). If we don't do that it would still be good with somewhere to study, do experiments or collect interesting things we gather. Not something that looks like a dungeon or a place you get to through a portal in a dungeon or raid.
Warlocks are the rogues of magic... This is just ridiculous...
As long as my DPS doesn't stagnate again, the class hall could be an open pit with a barbie house in the bottom for all I care. Really like the Demonology weapon. As other have said, I prefer they support the fantasy of controlling, subverting, assaulting, and bending demons rather than becoming one. Why would any self respecting warlock want to be something that they themselves can manipulate so readily?I hope the story lines pan out in that direction. And if not, well, Don't break it to me quite yet...
