When we are all 200/+, nice !
I wasn't able to upgrade my unranked pvp items despite being Renown 22 and seeing the "Unranked PvP Honor upgrade unlocked" - hopefully this is something they are fixing with the restarts that are going through right now. (Edit: As somebody mentioned you probably just have to turn the quest in from your covenant sanctum. They should consider updating the tooltip on the requirement at the upgrade guy IMO).It would have been nice to see it unlock last week, but I still see this being useful. I'm using a couple of unranked PvP pieces like trinkets that could use being 197 that weren't worth spending conquest on. Plus, alts will appreciate the quick catch-up.
Woohoo. And it only took this long.
just like the last unlock for upgrading pvp gear, you have to get a quest from your covenant sanctum and turn that in to the pvp guy in oribos before you can actually upgrade.
Wouldn't it make sense it just make it 200 ilvl just like raid? Most people are going to be using this campaign gear for alts.... Blizzard logic to making it 197 ilvl. Funny and Dumb.
You can get a full set of 197 gear, with no timegate, from PvP - yet there is still only one wing of LFR available where you might get 1 piece of 184 gear every 2nd or 3rd week. I don't even do LFR on alts and this huge disparity between welfare gearing bothers me. You can also get a full set of 197 gear, minus accessories, from the campaign so literally what is the point of LFR?
Because why would they make an entire difficulty of a raid completely useless?
This renders the following loot rewards obsolete: world quests, normal dungeons, heroic dungeons, mythic0 dungeons, timewalking dungeons, LFR raids, and to a large extent normal raids. It's all a bit silly really.
LFR has always been advertised as a tourist mode for players that want to experience the full story without having to do actual raiding. The gear is a side addition, its not meant to be amazing. World quest loot has been sub par since release, why even mention timewalking/heroic/mythic release dungeons as relevant in regards to this upgrade as well. The xpac has been out since NOVEMBER, the fact honor gear is catching up now is not terrible.
Why would you get the same ilvl gear upgrading gear as participating in a 10 boss raid .. 4head
No. The campaign does not contain any gear for weapon, ring, or trinket slots. You can still get upgrades for these slots, and weapon/trinket are of course very important slots to fill out.
I disagree. Rendering all those swathes of content obsolete is a problem. That's why they increased rewards with each catch-up mechanism in past major patch releases. As of now there is no reason to do any of that stuff I listed. Now most of it we're all WELL past and not interested in doing, but imagine you're a new 60-- the most efficient and fastest way to catch up your gear itemlvl is now to cap out renown and grind anima, all solo stuff. Group and raid activities aren't rewarded until you get all the way to heroic raiding!
It’s almost as if some people don’t do all the activities in the game, and some gear is aimed at different people. Also, it will cost a lot of anima to upgrade that gear. I don’t know the full amount but over 2,000 just to get from 6-7 iirc for all eight pieces. I doubt it’s worth it, but if you don’t raid and do WQs and stuff only and you want to spend anima on it, go for it.
LFR is pretty much just to let the super casuals experience the raid. There has always been quicker way to gear alts than LFR
