Hopefully they start doing every expansion like this
Is anyone going to take the argument "Shadowlands wasn't rushed because the systems worked as intended." seriously? They had no time to listen to player feedback to change anything. You could argue that isn't rushed, but if they had more time to adapt to player feedback, it would have been a better product. The covenants were great, Shadowlands was great (imo the best expac so far), but it was rushed out ignoring player feedback.Shadowlands was rushed, and it suffered because of it.
I believe Shadowlands/Maw/Torghast would have been MUCH better without alot of the useless players feedback that we got during development.Let them do it their way and we could probably have another memorable expansion like Legion.
It doesn't matter if they have the frame (zones+art+quest lines) ready. They need time to rework anything that is needed to be reworked.Remember MoP? They had the entire Jade Forest done... and had to throw it away and start from zero. They would not be able to do it today. When they don't care about feedback, yeah, they can put out an xpac really fast, but they're always crap like BFA or SL.For now it just seems like a pre-order cash bait for their earning reports, like WC3 Refunded.Btw, for a company that declared that they were having plenty of problems to develop their products thanks to the pandemic and later the lawsuits (does anyone remember their employees saying that they were not working on anything anymore for sometime as an act against the higher ups?), they're doing fine if they're releasing it this year by "november" (according to the new leaks...) without any need of testing.
If Shadowlands had taken another six months to come out, it would have arrived in the same state it came. The way covenants work was intentional design.Besides, Ion said 2 months ago that they were working on Dragonflight while Shadowlands was still being developed.
