A lot of amazing info, very interesting! I was watching Sco for quite a bit, but only in between CS:GO games on FaceIT.It is worth noting that the only reason why FaceIT is ranked above Sco this month is the fact that they are currently in the final stages of the CS:GO Major (which is basically their world cup). If not for that, Sco would have been #1 on Twitch, no doubt.
Interesting.
I believe Method did a huge solid for Blizzard. As a mythic raider myself, this stream oriented race helped the game more than the devs could do at this point in BFA. I tuned in most nights and was engaged in the strats and the human emotions that came with the success and failures. I am very grateful that the Method team did this, really much appreciated and hope to see them and a few other guilds do this in SoZ.
This event definitely, showed the mass love for PVE raid content! :D Gratz to method for creating such an amazing community event!
I agree that it would be nice to have other guilds stream it. Especially an NA guild both for the competitive tensions and the likely different hours. My work day suffered terribly due to Method's chosen hours :)Anyway, great article and neat statistics. Thanks for writing!
Wonderful article. I think that Blizzard paid a lot of attention to these numbers as well and we'll see FINALLY an official endorsement for PVE live events. Numbers don't lie. Wow is still huge and can become even better if the hype around exclusivity will finally come back. What Method did wasn't just gaining a world first, was breaking the barrier of PVE as a form of Esports and live entertainment. The future is bright, fellows.
I hope this does lead to more stuff being streamed in terms, especially more raid attempts. As I mentioned in Stream, I'm basically addicted to this game but I put it all on the back burner to watch Method, and Sco in particular throughout this entire race. I was invested in their win as a viewer and I don't generally get that invested in something like this.
Method finished 8.0 before alliance could even to warfronts.
I followed. "I was there" when they killed G'Huun. I was riveted. I was rooting for these people. Very entertaining. I'd love to see more of it!
"No one cares about the mythic race" they said"Raiding doesn't have a big enough audience to be supported by Blizzard" they said
I still not get why people watch Twitch, it seems to be the most boring thing ever for me to watch someone play videos games, but hey maybe I'm too old at 30 to understand!
Was amazing to watch (Watched Sco personally, loved his raid music). Hopefully this will encourage more of this sort of thing in future.
