Well when you give 4 weeks in a row of garbage melee affixes, 10/10 times the guy who can jump away easiest is going to be the best.$10 says the DPS rankings show 90% ranged also.
pretty balanced i would say? no it not for me the jumping around tank is just stupid it should not work like this, it should not be a thing, it goes against to what tanks stand for i my opinion
Strange that Vengeance has not been nerfed yet. It's far ahead of every other tank at the moment. Hopefully the nerf will come soon. Especially their damage output, but also to Demonic Wards and Thick Skin.
Saying that prot warriors were dominant the whole BfA expansion is pretty bold, seeing that they are the 2nd lowest played tank in 15+ fo season 1 (only bear is lower, but there are just very few bear tanks in general).Prot warrior only rose when they got better gear later in the expansion, and the additional ring of azerite power, which was a very big buff to them (unlike for DKs, which plummeted after season 1).
Have started leveling VDH especially for keys and torg (torg as a shadow priest is extremely boring tho). Hope blizz won't nerf it :D At least not so soon....
Also, Havoc sucks rn, so people started to play Vengeance
The beauty of the Vengeance spec is in my opinion slowly moving there from a Blood DK is that they have 3 viable builds and 2 strong legendaries. You can decide between Crowd Control, Survivability or a mixture of the both. Add in the mobility and you simply have a strong all around specialization. You also bring a group to raid wide damage buff for magic damage. A vengeance playstyle also feels smoother since the GCD changes where as others do less so. So that could perhaps be another thing that adds to its popularity. Really not a fan of the stun on my BDK being GCD locked. I honestly don't see them keeping all these perks into the next season(s). As that would mean the other tanks have to be buffed and it at least hope the snap threat gets dealt with, if blizzard wants to make it more interesting for tanks on that front, i rather be made aware during a fight i am losing threat rather than herding everything together at the start, even though tank threat issues can often be reduced to bad group coordination. Do take note, it takes some time to learn. As the difference between a good and bad player is noticeable than again this is also goes for Blood.
flavor classes of the expac is always a thing for tanks heals dmg. nothing new
First of all, it is TOTALLY UNFAIR to compare SL Season 1 with BfA Season 4 since at the start of every expansion in first tier, players don't really have enough stats and are not progressed high enough into player power systems (azerite/corruption/covenant). Here's the links which you very conveniently ignored when you wrote this article about EACH SEASON in BfA and you will see early in BfA, Warriors were NOT really that dominant and that makes the very first line of your article WRONG.Links to +15 or above timed runs during BfASeason 1: https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-bfa-1/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=15:maxMythicLevel=99 (DKs almost half and Warriors actually 2nd last)Season 2: https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-bfa-2/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=15:maxMythicLevel=99 (Warriors 33% closely followed by DKs and Pally 22 / 20)Season 3: https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-bfa-3/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=15:maxMythicLevel=99 (The closest 3 tank specs probably every been and Monks were actually above Warriors)You already provided link for Season 4.
The biggest problem of Meta Tanks is, that most people don't know how to play them. As a healer I tend to avoid DH tanks in my group. As comparison, a good Tank (any class) needs 1.5-2.0 M heal, a really bad needs double. This leads to massively decreased healing resources for group healing which then easily lead to wipes.
