This sounds like over-thinking - but I'm all for games in the same universe creating canon lore content!
The WoW team give directions to the HS team what characters they can or cannot make and what they should look like. I mean, important characters that have a meaning to the WoW story.HS team: Hey, we want to make a N'Zoth card!WoW team: Sure, but we will give you art directions!
The link to Hearthstone Top Decks is wonky. The www,www.cuckhead.com/wotlk before it might have something to do with it.
Slight mistake on the history: the Worgen Curse got into Gilneas long before the Cataclysm, the Adventurer gets infected, and then lives several months or even years (can't find an exact source atm) as a feral before being captured and 'cured' by Aranas, and only after that, the Cataclysm happens. The Wall didn't stop the curse.
I hope they don't bring back Liam in-game. They should add development with Mia, Tess and Genn instead of bringing back a storyline that, let's be honest, died inside the Vault of Eyir.
Looking at the comments here and on Twitter, it's absolutely fascinating that the community is so torn when it comes to Prince Liam.I myself hope to see him as some sort of evil resurrected ghost that will be used as the ultimate weapon against Genn! I should add that I want this to happen in Hearthstone, because for this to happen in WoW, lots and lots of things would need to happen.
I'm still of the opinion that most Hearthstone 'lore' is a joke that occasionally gets an equally jokey reference in WoW.
Tess Greymane is also revealed as Rogue Legendary card, and her artwork is also used as one of the four monster hunters, "the Tracker". Since you mentioned Liam, Genn and Godfrey, you should at least mention Liam's sister and our residential Uncrowned Princess.
Yeah, you should probably edit your article, Nulgar is right, the Gilnean Wall didn't protect them for the Worgen. I actually remember (but I might be imagining this) a few NPCs saying that the wall was a mistake, because it trapped them with the Worgen. But again, it might just be my imagination. What's true though is that from the first minute of gameplay as a gilnean, you see other worgens in Gilneas, and you only experience the events of the Cataclysm a few levels later.
Man, I'd love to see some Hearthstone stuff make it into WoW. A revamped Un'goro and a Suramar-style Gadgetzan would be the bee's knees.
You dont even card the card itself in the article? Or discussion on the card?
I was under the impression that any 'lore' in Hearthstone is more of a whimsical 'alternate universe' type of thing rather than actually being connected or canonical to the rest of the Warcraft universe. Things like the Karazhan adventure, major lore figures being killed and raised as death knights, and Gadgetzan being a bustling metropolis (though admittedly, Gadgetzan probably should be larger in WoW than it actually is) are all strong indicators to me that this is the case.
