Get competent devs and you won't see a 20 year old game lagging 4000 dollar PCs.
Weak Auras causing problems huh, who could have guessed that letting people easily share and import arbitrary lua snippets via shift-clicking would ever be an issue lmao
Aw, yes. Blame the AddOn developers instead of the actual game. You want more FPS? lower your visual settings. Lowering your shadow settings is going to be your largest FPS boost **BY FAR**. No matter what you do you're not going to get super high FPS in Dorn with everyone and their mom running around.
Ive seen newly released games of the same genre performing 3x better on higher settings where they do world events with tons of people and fps is stable on average PC. Idk what Blizz do with their billions of budget and only adding more and new stuff which break the game even more instead of fixing the old part of the engine...
Just download Hyperframe add and choose a preset, it works wonders.
Anyone know if the potraits from Zperl also affect this?
This mistake happens occasionally, but if you could please correct "LUA" to "Lua" that would be appreciated. Lua is the Portuguese word for moon, not an abbreviation. Additional information about the Lua programming language can be found on its website: https://www.lua.org
now fix not getting coffer keys from weekly chest
its not fps issue its the RANDOM SERVER LAG SPIKES that make the m+ and raids unplayable
Can we stop with the addon fingerpointing? Yes, addons will slow down performance. No, optimizing/removing addons will not substantially increase performance in Nerub-ar Palace, which is in dire need of client-side optimization.
It's been an issue since DF dropped where certain particles or effects destroy fps. The only thing in common with all these occurences is the color blue. Jadefire Stomp and the ground effects on 1st boss in Halls of Infusion. 1st boss in Throne of Tides. The new void effects are causing it too in one of the raid fights and the halls at the end of City of Thread. Oh and also the web shooting on one of the raid bosses tanks my fps. I use a macro to set my render scale to lowest whenever it happens and then another to set it back after. /console set renderscale 0.333 and /console set renderscale 1.
Thanks for the article, it helps a lot.
Why not just post a link to https://github.com/tukui-org/ElvUI/wiki/performance-optimization-retail ? Credit should go to them. And while these optimizations help, the real problem isn't FPS. Even with good FPS, on a system that was running fine in DF, things do feel laggy in TWW. Almost like there's some extra visual/input lag, as if someone put an inverted Nvidia Reflex setting into effect?
MysticalOS said it in his 3rd video, if you're having frame rate issues in Dornogal and Raid only and wakauras addons etc have been checked, its a CPU issue. Full Stop. The problem with that is you can have a half decent CPU but because of the GAME ENGINE, you will have frame spikes/frame lag and overall bad FPS based on how the engine sorts workloads onto the cpu.5900x with a 2070 Super on 1440P, 200-300ish in open world, 40-65ish in Dornogal, 25-40ish in 30man raiding depending on fight. I shouldn't have to say I need to buy a 7800X3D for WoW, a 20 year old game, to run smoothly in its main content - M+ & raiding.
