It's horrible .....
Seriously, I want the Black Empire to invade Azeroth with the sunken city of Ny'alotha rising as a full blown continent the size of Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor on the back side of Azeroth. Having a true, fully realized Old God expansion would be awesome.
I want Ny'alotha to be either a full continent, or an Argus-like patch (but better). Argus was very impressive in term of visuals, you really felt like you were right above the planet. Having Ny'alotha be under the ocean, trapped in a kind of bubble of air, would be so cool. Massive Qiraji structure laying in the darkness of the deep, with colossal, dormant tentacles running through the gigantic avenues of the city .....So Lovecraftian, so good. Blizzard rarely misses the atmosphere of a zone, I hope they don't mess up this one.
We should lose to N'zoth and he kills half the world's population and in the next expansion we use time travel to go back to key moments in time to restore the lost population and defeat N'zoth.
FYI the Puzzle Box came in at Cata, not Wrath as the article states....darque
If we're gonna go back in time to a key point, let's go to the times before first sundering, tell Aman'thul to not touch the body, but to simply conjure a big butt surgical blade and remove all old gods, tell titans how to defeat their fallen friend, and thell them Fel Sarge is coming, and defeat him too..After then, as like most time-travel stories, go with "if you mess with time, time messes you back." plot and whip up a whole new reality. That will give the game enough edge to re-write its reality. ^^
i read somewhere that n'zoth is the weakest of the old gods, & we've kicked the butts of all the other 1s, leaving him as the last 1, so i dont find him very threatening
My hope is that this rolls into an old god expansion. I don't have high hopes, but with void lords and the black empire there is a lot of content there that could be explored.
I will absolutely join N’zoth If it means fully destroying Sylvanas.
I'd recommend in your future Old Gods related articles connecting them to the Lovecraft Mythos as the Old Gods are based on the Old Ones. It's very clear that this city is a reference to R'lyeh from Call of Cthulhu.
I'd be for a full underworld expansion. Like a continent... but deep beneath the ground. Very deep. With colossal black howling chasms opened at many places in the old world that would lead directly to this new underworld which would link them all. After all, Azjol Nerub was once meant to be a huge zone that stretches beneath whole of Northrend. But in the end, we only got two almost irrelevant tiny dungeons, both situated in one place. How about an expansion that is entirely bellow the ground and Azjol Nerub is only one of the zones it consists of? So far, we only had one zone that had the underground theme - Deepholm. But I am sure they can make it look more creative... and scary even if they try.Just image how majestic imposing could the ceiling look. Or maybe it could be lost in darkness. And the darkness could be a mechanic in itself, like it was in the Legion dungeon Vault of Wardens. Hm, maybe not, it could get too annoying after a while...But I think that the theme would perfectly fit for the new expansion to be bellow the ground. It's kinda repetitive when every new expansion is simply an island in the sea. And there is not often anything very different on those islands. They even retconned the Broken Isles from Warcraft 3 so they were no longer risen from the bottom of the ocean, and they become just normal Island that were always there ever since the Sundering. I hoped that they would look like the Kingdom of Orr from Guild Wars. This theme I propose could be a bit different. Even though it might be too homogeneous for entire expansion. But they can still diversify it. Northrend is not completely for example, Outland is not complete wasteland. Even Argus had one zone that didn't look post-Armageddon.
Putting N'Zoth in the Maelstrom is asinine.
