Thanks for the guides! It's sad that they are removing the Ahead of the Curve and the Cutting Edge achievements. I've been trying to get the Curve since it opened, but it's hard to find any group that doesn't need 870+ ilvl and the achievement i want to get... without a guild :/
Thanks for the hard work. Dayani is so detailed, for sure I'll use her guides to learn what we will face on 17-th.
some people have been talking about a mythic only boss. Which one is that?
Im really excited for the nighthold, feels like the first legitimate raid tier of this expansion. To me the others felt like filler without set pieces, previously i was more excited for the world bosses than the instanced raids.
Try to get to a group fighting Xavius.People quit on first wipe. If you stay, you have a chance to get it today.
The way I see it, AOTC in the early xpac raids is always pretty much reserved for hard core raiders and guild raiders. Mostly because its nearly impossible to PUG a raid unless you're already a very high ilvl, and the only way to get high ilvl is to have already done the raids. It's kind of a no win situation. Once Nighthold drops, people will "require," AOTC from an ealier raid for about a week or so, then it will change to AOTC NH... I've never worried about trying to get AOTC from the opening raids just because of the elitest mentality. I just wait patiently, run mythic and mythic+ dungeons, and gear up as much as I possibly can with out them. So far I am 855 ilvl and have only done lfr raids and mythic dungeons. Blizz has adjusted the scale a bit by putting "legendaries," in emissary drops. I got one this weekend from one. So I will keep running Mythic and Mythic+ instances, and once the newness of NH wears off in a couple of months, I will try and start pugging normal and heroic NH... I got AOTC from Hellfire Citadel after about 3-4 months. It was on like my first or second heroic run, but after about 25-30 normal runs.
Ahead of the curve is not hard to get at all,but sadly wihout a guild you won't really get a shot at it due to the toxic pug mentality, requiring you to be 15+ ilvl above the hc loot drops and having killed the boss already :/.The only real advice for AotC would be : find a guild. there's no other easy way
This'll be a useful supplement in addition to the other resources that the guild I raid with are linking. Hopefully we blow through a large amount of Normal mode.
It would be wise to let Elisande live, Perc.
I wish we could "star" (add to favorites) guides here on wowhead. Now I need to add it to bookmarks on my browser instead.
I guess I must a be a decently geared character because I easily got into a group doing heroic Xav. I was only like 865 maybe 870 at the time. I only ran normal raids until then, and mythic+. That is how I got my ilevel so high, I listened when they explained the strategy and we downed the boss. I think people set the barrier of entry far to low when doing heroic Xav, a 850 should not get into a heroic run by any means. Unless it is a carry group and you have some 890's running in the group.
I really like your guides, but can you please update them? Not everything is correct. Like Arcanetic Ring from Elisande only appears in Phase 1 on normale mode. Or the Adds from Tichondrius can't be stuned.
