Interesting ideas for the talents. My own 2 cents:A lot rides on how much damage the moonfire stuff actually does. Traditionally the abilities to up bear's arcane damage scale terribly. I'm all for having laser bear be viable but we need to see.Surprised the writer went with the maul focused talents on the right side of the bear talents rather than the straight up damage reduction. Currently maul is seen only as a strict rage dump and many times it's not worth touching as you would rather bank an iron fur than just a small nudge of damage. Personally I am looking to shift the tooth and claw, vuln flesh and vicious cycle points to the right into layered mane and reinforced fur and then put them into the earthwarden side and then push for pulverize and rend&tear. If you're a tank, tanking should be first and that means being the chunkiest chungus you can be. With legacy coming back, pulverize, CD reductions of bark skin in both bear talents and general druid, I wonder how much major CD defensive time we can have up for how long. If we get a solid trinket in DF on par with blood scale, I think druids might have near 75% up time on major damage cool downs.Oh, and if you're investing so much into the berserk cooldown, incarnation is almost mandatory since it ups the time that you're in god mode from 15 seconds to 30 seconds. Given how strong the ursoc fury legendary + incarnation is in shadowlands, I don't think any bear can reasonably pass it up in DF. I'm seeing a lot of 'buff for shifting' talents and imho those are garbage. Druids in general just don't power shift all that much. When I was nightfae with convoke and balance affinity hotw i did it a bit but generally speaking I even run around as bear because that's my form/class fantasy. I don't shift, I don't like shifting very much unless it's necessary (removing a root) and I will probably avoid talents that require me to shift to get a benefit
I've really enjoyed all the trees but bear a little more. I personally skipped most of the maul talnets for what I consider my m+ build and I love those moonfire talents and can potentially make your bear into passive support healer doing alot of damage. I hope they consider making a few of the spec nodes freebies like survival instincts and infected wound and let the enhancement of those talnets be what you put points in.
Really hope Infected Wounds not having Thrash included is an error and will be corrected during Alpha or Beta (fingers crossed!). 🤞🤞
Wait, are Berserk and Incarnation 2 separate spells now?If not, can you just pick Incarnation without picking Berserk? By the looks of the tree you can...
I can't understand how you can say this is amazing but needs tuning. The class side alone just guts us of abilities, baseline guard and off spec, only to choose what to bring back, with the type of filler 1/2/3% stat that the devs removed originally for being boring. This is literally another great pruning sold as player choice, with NOTHING new. Great that it's all old favourites, loved me a good laser bear back in Legion, but otherwise there's nothing that we haven't seen before. In your tree, you also give up 2 of charge, interrupt, hibernate, or cyclone. Depending on the run, that probably won't be a huge issue, but we're still losing a LOT just to have some choice. I don't see how that's a good thing. Since along with this, we lose incap, dispel, rejuv (great for grievous weeks), mighty bash, typhoon and renewal. (I am aware that some of these are a choice of one or other now). The only real gain is innervate (which should be baseline for all druids anyway), and vigil (which could be awesome tbf). Spec wise, there's nothing particularly amazing other than adding to laser bear. The berserk altering talents are an interesting idea, but having them before UF and RotS means you'll take them everytime. In another expac, these will be gone and back to the current iteration once everyone chooses the same cookie cutter build(s) for w.e content they do
Seems strange to cut a lot of what I would consider base guardian/druid skills into optional talents. To get back to a current druid I feel you have to give up a lot of talent points. It's NOT interesting gameplay to have to swap talents and keybinds per fight. Not to mention it seems like im going to need another keyboard for all these 'new' skills.Clearly some strong talents that are mandatory, after these are taken there feel very little left for customisation, or even getting back lost utility.Sadly I think this is a big fail by Blizzard and I hope, but doubt it will be looked at.
Rage of the Sleeper needs to be changed for PvP. The long duration CC-immunity is really abnoxous in Rated BGs right now and Guardians are basically outclassing every tank.
Personally the build it looks like they're trying is just turning bear into a support/utility off-tank... with very little attention paid to actual damage reduction and threat management. my build doesnt look like this setup in the slightest, and as someone who currently mains bear and main tanks for every raid since the start of SL as well as the primary go-to tank for Mythic+ groups in the guild, the fact that you dont take Incarn is an absolute joke and whoever made this build obviously knows next to nothing about how bears are played. Especially going into the expansion where you have to talent into your dispels / interuupts / soothes etc. For you to not taking your dispel or interuupt in this build shows that the only thing you want a bear to do is handle a taunt swap, hold the boss for a few seconds till the main tank takes it back, then go to healing the raid. It's a spit in the face of people who main bear that see this and think that blizzard actually took the time and effort to learn the class/spec and put this back-alley piss poor sorry excuse of a build together.
