I think Blizzard has the opportunity to be able to reduce mobility in the game through talent trees. Reducing mobility means having less spams in the game and then in turn inserting the Gcd back into the main attack spells, everything as it once was.
Great analysis Tettles, thank you!Like you - I totally agree the Starfall issue and its attached CD has been a problem ever since its introduction and sadly for now at least shows no sign of going away in Dragonflight. Hopefully the rest of the build might make up for our overall lack of power in AoE situations when we're outside of our CDs as is the case now in current content - but we'll see in testing. The other red-flag for me is the increase in AP Spend needed to trigger Pulsar - from 300 to 400 - this represents a 33.3% increase needed to trigger and feels pretty bad, especially for M+ scenarios as being so heavily reliant on CDs to keep up with other classes...Pulsar has been an absolute must since 9.2. Again - all subject to testing on how the rest of the build makes up for this nerf to Pulsar - but it does worry me.Both the ongoing Starfall CD problem and the Pulsar nerf are my two biggest worries for M+ content.Jury I think is out on whether pairing the choice between Incarnation and Convoke is a good idea as both are solid Single Target picks.Looking forward to playing around and testing for sure! But...a few worries.
Why Moonkin Form is optional
The bottom left choice node seems simply pointless when it's after Stellar Drift
So nothing on the loss of utility from having to choose between Mass Entanglement/Ursols Vortex. If the moonkin who has this platform says nothing about it being a poor decision, doubt they will change it.
'If we need to catweave, you can catch me logged into my Hunter, where I will remain.' Yeah, I'm already not convinced he should be writing this. At least, I can count on the fans saying something.
I dislike how the builds look - I don't play a druid but the thing is that... eugh... in PvP druids will be ultimately obnoxious. Resto druid with skull bash? Overhealing moonkins? I will hate it on my mage so hard.
I don't really play any of the classes for which the new talent trees have been revealed yet so my question is: have they actually introduced any new talents, particularly active ones? I am curious because as far as I am concerned any meaningful overhaul of the talent system needs to include the removal of boring passive talent nodes which might as well be baked into the baseline spells they modify and replacing them with fun active talents, you know something really visually cool like Fury of Elune. Either that or they need to add new spells for every spec in 10.0 because frankly I am sick and tired of the same 2-3 button rotation that we've had for 15 years now with no fun short cooldown spells to spice up the rotation every now and again.
Starfall needs to be addressed and fixed / changedit's current state is a bad omen for how balance is going to play out, and they've gotta try to fix it.Other than that im content for the most part. all will be told when the beta drops I suppose.
I'm not happy with having to choose between Mass Entanglement and Ursol's Vortex. I want both just like it is right now. They should fix it so you have both.
I LOVE dot builds. I'm thrilled at the prospect of being a balance warlock. Unfun? Different brains enjoy different things, I guess 🤷♂️
Just a note to OP, the link at the bottom for the season 3 guide goes ton the Feral page, not Balance
