I’ve certainly noticed the dps difference between my paladin cotank and my brewmaster but I’m not particularly worried about it. A priest in our group tried out shadow for the first time in years and was dominating the meters with next to no experience so it looks vastly improved. However, all this scaling difference would be fine if Blizzard had tuned the raid right. The fights are longer and have many abilities that hit harder than before. I really wish Blizzard could scale a pre patch like they used to, where raid bosses are hugely nerfed, killable in 2-3 minutes and we can have some fun now that the achievements are gone and we can get out different classes and specs ready for Shadowlands. Instead, we have to focus on reprogressing bosses.
How can I star this page the same way I star (favorite) guides and things like that to my profile so I can easily access it later?
R.I.P Melee DPS
I noticed along with the fun things I can steal now, Beast Mastery hunter is just vicious. Kill Shot hits so hard, and if I get someone in the range of it, I kill them. Period. It's so wonderful. Gonna miss being so deadly in the expansion, at leas for however long it takes before they become good again.
So the pre patch charts are counting in Azerite and Essences... kinda means none of this matters then?
This is mostly irrelevant due to essences and Azerite armor still contributing to overall damage and in some cases stacking with the class changes. I will say though, as a WW monk, this does not bode well =/Was the worst dps class in the game, only difference based on these meters is that now we share a room with Havoc but we called top bunk.
Improved the Most: Beast Mastery HunterChange: +1Not mentioned at all at improving: Elemental ShamanChange: +11, entering the top 10.Not mentioned at all at hit hardest: Demonology WarlockChange: -17, greatest drop of all DPS.Ya know what would have been better than showing the ranking change? The comparative DPS percentage increase/decrease to the top DPS (what is referred to as Score) - instead of having to compare two graphs. Eg. Fire Mage is 100% in Season 4 and now 79% in Prepatch = -21%Eg. Shadow Priest is 83% in Season 4 and now 100% in Prepatch = 17%.Ranking is far more arbitrary than actually comparing the change. You can actually see tiers of damage in the Prepatch data:A+: Shadow PriestA: Affliction, Arcane, BeastB: Frost Mage, Unholy, ElementalC: Marksmanship, Destruction, Fire, BalanceD: Survival, OutlawF: Retribution, Frost DK, Subtlety, Arms, AssassinationF-: The rest. What about the melee/casting distribution?Don't you think its worth even mentioning that the top two melee DPS at the moment is Unholy and SURVIVAL of all things.
I kept scrolling for Havoc Demon Hunter :(
I haven't played shadow priest since legion (also my first time shadow priesting) but I did have a lot of fun with it. But those who were more veteran than I really hated the voidform gimmick at the time. I played a little spriest in bfa and lost interest due to the post legion weakness pretty much all classes faced. For those that main Spriest, I have some questions:What did you guys have before that you liked? Was Bfa better/worse? Is what you currently have better/worse?What needs to be changed?Do you think you will be maining Spriest in SL?
I know some people are quite happy about havoc demon hunters being nerfed, but what nerfing was there to do anyway? Most of the borrowed power is going away or is already gone, leaving havoc as just a vessel of which the borrowed power used to carry it in the meters. I've played demon hunter for years now, doing the same bland rotation over and over. Why give demon hunters choices of talents and covenants when there is only one good one? Honestly, demon hunter needs some flair, something to add to the rotation of both havoc and vengeance to make it more creative. I might just be a salty demon hunter player frustrated about a simple rotation and who is constantly called a kid, but if that is my life I will live it.
Happy for some of my toons:BM hunter, outlaw rogue, resto shaman, arcane mage. RIP my DH in both specs, but they’ve been too good for too long anyway.
hopefully they make hpally at least middle or 2nd. kinda dumb to take a class that was doing fine and just throw them thru the mud like that. whoever is working at the paladin department needs to be replaced. they only made prot paladin good so far and just dont care for ret or holy paladin at all.
cool
Priest master class! At least for prepatch where it's hardly relevant. Either way it's great that they do a rotation. Gets kind of boring having the same classes/specs on top all the time.
Until it changes again, at least...
Now I'm just waiting to see how many people start rerolling to shadow priest, only to realize that these meters might change as soon as SL launches. Eh, at least I (hopefully) don't have to explain anymore why I'm fury and not arms.Edit: Just a reminder that I'm not trying to be bashing on anyone, and especially not those who will be going SP regardless of the meters. I might even do it, as I love the more "dark" classes and priest looks absolutely fun now.
Who need that melee dps anyway, yes? With better aoe cap, better damage and been ranged - all melee will be at bottom in raids and m+. But hey, we can make m10 and Heroic raid as melee, we will be fine, am i right?
