pretty simple quest. go back to the area where the colored cauldrons are and drink the Diluted Cult Tonic which will give you a 10min buff. while you have the buff active kill the Damned Apothecary and/or Cult Alchemist and loot 10 Tainted Essences. once you have 10. right click on it near the cauldron and you will complete the quest.

Located at the SW base of Aldur'thar (under the 'A' on the in-game map). The cauldrons will award a 2 hour buff depending upon into which one you throw the mass.

Cyan / Light-Blue :: +100 attack power
Green :: +75 stam
Dark Blue (Purple):: +60 spell power

The name of this quest might be a Blizzard inside joke. Check out the names of other daily quests that you get around this area in Icecrown:

Did this bug out for anyone else?

I was killing the Damned Apothecary and Cult Alchemist and got 6 Tainted Essences.. at that point, they just stopped dropping, and they are still not dropping now.

I have no idea why they are not dropping "/

Cauldron coords are 49, 34.

Not the cauldrons on the plague wagons. Rather, the three cauldrons of different colors that are the objective of an earlier quest.
