It all depends on your realm and what method ends up being cheapest since there's several routes you can take. You can choose to smelt ores via miner, transmute ghost iron ore into Trillium bars, all depends on what combination you're going after. For the sake of keeping it simple, I will show you what method I use because of my realm's prices, I would recommend finding all the prices on your realm to determine what works best for you.
Each Sky Golem requires 2 primary materials: 30 Jard's Peculiar Energy Source and 30 Living Steel. It takes 30 days to make a Sky Golem due to the daily craft limit on the Jard's part. Each Jard requires 10 Ghost Iron Bars, meaning over 30 days you'll need 300 Ghost Iron Bars. Each bar costs 2 Ghost Iron Ore, meaning each engineer will need 600 Ghost Iron Ore to cover the Jard's crafting part.
For the Living Steel part, I personally do the Transmute: Living Steel route instead of the Riddle of Steel route because on my realm Spirits of Harmony can be used at a vendor to buy materials like Ghost Iron Ore or Black/White Trillium Ore and cheaper prices than buying the ore raw. I usually do not farm my materials out, instead I watch the AH for ideal prices.
Continuing on my Living Steel explanation: Because I do Transmute: Living Steel, it requires 6 Trillium Bars per daily transmute. This means that I need 180 Trillium Bars total if I wanted to do a transmute each day to match my engineer's materials. I also make sure my transmuters have the Transmutation master buff/quest done to make sure that I get bonus materials every so often. I can either sell these excess Bars for a profit, or I can use these for other crafts. The bonus is 20% chance to get a bonus on transmute, so consider 1 craft = 1.2 materials.
In regards to the Ore amounts: I choose to smelt my Trillium. This requires 2 Black Trillium Ore and 2 White Trillium. For 180 bars, this means I need 360 Black Trillium Ore and 360 White Trillium Ore total per engineer.
So our grand total in ores needed between crafting the Jard's daily and doing the Transmute: Living Steel option via smelting for Trillium Bars would be 600 Ghost Iron Ore, 360 Black Trillium Ore, and 360 White Trillium Ore.
Blizzard
In order to fix a technical issue preventing players from leaving the Comp Stomp brawl, we’re changing the brawl over to Arathi Blizzard for the rest of this week.
We plan to then run a week of Comp Stomp starting Tuesday (Dec. 3).
Sorry for the mix-up!
