Used to make a campfire. Campfire gives spirit to group members within range and it also is used to cook food.

This item is not sold anywhere in Outland, it has been taken off the only vendor that had it once in Shattrath.

For some strange reason, I saw this listed on the AH for nearly 15 gold. I had just made a Gnomish Army Knife, so I no longer needed mine, so I tried selling my old flint and tinder. It went for 10g the first time listing. Why is someone paying 10g for something that sells from vendors for almost nothing?

Latest 3.1 PTR patchnotes say:

Flint and Tinder is no longer necessary for creating a campfire. You're just that resourceful!

So being able to cook in the wilderness is just a matter of 10 seconds and a 5 min CD now... I'd say with all the nerfs to the Campfire, they should've just removed the necessity to have a fire altogether. Though I'd prefer to have the old Flint and Tinder+Wood mechanic back.

I can confirm from over 50 checked Alliance Trade goods' vendors which used to sell it that they are not selling it anymore...I think that expands to all such Alliance and Horde vendors.

However due to my tend to keep similar "old" items for lore, i put mine in my bank along with some Flash Powder, ( i am a rogue) and also the items required to enter Onyxia's Lair at 60 (Drakefire Amulet) and UBRS (Seal of Ascension).

Gnomish army knife still says "Contains X Y , Flint and Tinder" even though its no longer needed.

You can also find Flint and Tinder in Darnassus, Coordinates (71,45)...for those of you without coordinates, the vendor is by the Ancient of War in the Warriors Terrace.

The General Goods Vender's name is Mydrannul.

wow it cost only 1 silver and 35 copper and you can sell it on ah for 894 Gold and 18 Silver. lol i dont think so
