What's with losing Aldor rep and gaining Scryers rep? Bit weird, no? It's not much and I'll get it back quickly but it's the principle! My Aldor friends may think I've turned traitor! =O

Well, I handed it in and I didn't lose rep with the Aldor nor gain it with the Scryers. Phew! Must be just a rare Wowhead glitch.

You get it after delivering the letter, you gotta protect him from some naga's, and you can choose one of two rings, oh well quite easy quest ;p

When i did the quest... i never went up to the cannon or anything, i stood around.

1minute later, the quest was completed... LOL

The naga never came or anything, easiest quest ever, the 1minute of waiting might be a bit boring though ;)

There's definitely a bugged follow up quest. I just waited there, not even at at the cannon, and no Naga attacked. Nice ring :)

When I accepted the follow up quest it took a minute for the Naga to arrive, but when the arrived they showed up in force. Roughly 10 lvl 41-43 Mobs came out of the water and headed right for the Capitan. Fend them off and the ring is yours.

At lvl 39 and the Quest red I was hard pressed to think I could do it. But no guts no glory heh. I did what the npc said, Went up to the cannon and as they came up the beach I fired on them. Took all of a minute... quest complete :)

If you wanna finish last part and get ring just stand by him after you take quest!(Don't run to hill like me at first time or else 10 nagas will come out and kill you). After some time 3 nagas will come out. Kill them and quest done. Worked for me ...

I stood by shakes just like everyone said..lol...the 3 nagas came out and we killed them...but both times after a few seconds...4 more came out...i died both times...i was 40 warrior..

i will bring someone next attempt.

Do what the quest log says - go up on the ship to the cannon. As soon as you see the first 3 coming down the hill (don't get impatient because it seems to take a minute or so after Shakes shouts out orders), right click on the cannon.

My first attempt I was like the other sheep here and stood beside him. The guards were able to handle the first 3 - but then about a minute later, here came what looked like 8 nagas. It's a LONG run back. :/

I abandoned the quest and took it again. This time I zimmed right up to the cannon. After the first 3 were dead, it said the quest was complete.

Imagine my surprise that more nagas came when I wasn't looking (I was here on thottbot lol) - and killed old shakes. So I came here to post this and when I checked, he had respawned and I was able to talk to him and choose my ring.

One thing that I don't understand is old Lolo the Lookout (lvl 39) just stands there or strolls around and doesn't help the guards against the nagas. And he's a big ugly ogre! lol

Edit: As info - you CAN get to Faldir's cove from the wetlands also. :)

Forget going to the cannon, stay on the dock. I only had to fight off 3 lvl 41 nagas alongside a ton of NPCs after waiting there for about a minute.

Maybe everyone has different luck with this quest. The ring makes it definitely worth whatever trouble you have.

Just stay at the board and use cannon .

U can use it many times so dont need to fight whenever u see a naga kill it with cannon

I really liked all the Cove quests...but is swimming the only way to get there?

This was soooo simple! Talk to O'Breen, then run up the plank and turn right to the cannon on the deck. With the latest 2.3 patch it "sparkles".. use the gear when you see the naga come over the hill. I had four sets of two nagas. The cannon wipes them out. I would've hated fighting those dudes! Easy XP!

after this quest u can accept, "death from below", you will have to kill 3 waves of nagas, the first one 2 lvl 40 and 1 lvl 41, the second one, 4 nagas same lvl, and the last wave, 3 or 4 nagas too, i dont remember...

ive done it whit a lvl 48 priest patch 2.3 6600 exp. and 385 reputation with bb

There is another way to get to the cove w'out swimming: Fly into Refuge Point and run towards Stromgarde. Stay to the SE of the Circle of Binding stones and then stay to the SE of Stromgarde itself. Run into and thru the valley, up the hill, thur the cave, down the hill and then jump into the water. You will have discovered Faldir's Cove. If you're an Herbalist, you should be able to pickup at least 3 WIld Steelbloom in that little valley that you run thru. Have fun.

Taking this letter back to Captain Breen earns you 3150 experience and an increase to your Booty Bay reputation by a 100. It leads to a "Death from Below" which sends several waves of Nagas at the Captain, who you must defend.

After getting the q, run up and fire the aft cannon, taking care of the first 3 nagas. Run down, join the others and kill two waves of 3 nagas. 9 in total.
4650 XP (lvl 42 hunter), not bad!

Path to turn in quest starts at 31 65 and you turn in at 32 81. If you don't like swimming, bring a water walking pot.
