This quest is quite difficult to finish solo.
Clerk Horrace Whitesteed is located in the town hall in Hillsbrad Fields but is surrounded by a number of Councilmen and Town Registry. Good idea to complete "Battle of Hillsbrad" at the same time.

i fonund the quest as easy as pie but i was lvl 32 when i got it hunnter soloedeasily pet takes aggro but be care full in the town hall mobs can reach lvl 25 and your pet can be VERY VERY stupid i died the first time because my pet decided to go and attak all the mobs they killed him fast and then came for me not a pleasant ending

Farmer Kabala is with the farmers and peasants at the southermost part of the Fields. She's easy to kill solo.

Citizen Wilkes wanders the road between the fields and the buildings. Just wait until he's away from the footmen, and he's easy to kill solo.

Clerk Horrace is in the Town Hall. You will either have to aggro him from the enterance, probably with adds, or sneak/fight your way into the hall. Bring a friend, it'll be a lot easier.

Miner Hackett wanders around Azurelode Mine, and you not only have to find him, but fight your way through level 26-27 Miners. Reccomended that you bring a friend.

this quest was very easy, three out of four are at the hillsbard fields, Citizen Wilkes is standing on the road , Clerk Horrace Whitesteed is inside the town hall (beware of his guards, killing one at a time is easy but you can end up fighting 3 at a time, which is bad ) Farmer Kalaba is at the big farm at the middle of hillsbard fields.

miner hackett can be find at azurelod mine south to hillsbard fields, hackett is inside the mine, turn right when available and then keep going straight and you'll find him

to bad that as a druid i cant where neither one of the rewards but the exp is fine

I currently have a level 28 hunter and I was able to take out Clerk Horrace Whitesteed by hanging out in the room adjacent to the main room of the building and sent my pet in to take him out while I sniped him from distance. Luckily he was standing near a table in the middle of the room, right on the edge of my visual range.

Everyone else in the room went for my pet as I took out the guy and ran fast after I killed him. :P

Completed this quest in lv 24 with help from a 20 hunter :)
the miner was the hard, since the mobs inside were lvl 26~28 if i remember right, but we could still quite easy take out 2 of them

This quest is ridiculous. I'm a 28 Shaman, and I couldn't even get close to the miner without aggro-ing everyone and their brother. The other three targets are easy kills. SKIP!

On topic I did this quest as a 19 warrior ...grouped up with two pallys and we pretty much blasted through it...wasnt to difficult, though I did almost no damage because of the level difference i missed constantly

Miner Hackett was a piece of cake! (Lvl 27 tauren hunter). Went straight into the mine, killing the mobs that I need to to get him...sent my pet in, and didn't aggro a thing. good luck! :D

Just soloed as a lvl 24 Tauren Hunter. Only two really difficult to kill are they are the Clerk and the Miner. My advice is just take your time, but kill all the mobs as you go you don't want them joining in the fight at the wrong time.

With the Clerk I did the same as Esch, sent the pet in. The Clerk was in the middle of the room and I could shot him from the ajoining room. The miner was again a matter of patience killed all the miners as I went through waited for the pats to come and they did , two lvl 27 Foreman, got those two then went in for the kill. Again just take you time, pick them off one by one and you can do it.

Pretty Happy now I've got myself a nice bow. Silly Hat - but it's a hat. Good Luck.

This quest was fairly easy for me at 22. The only part I had trouble with was:

1. MINER HACKET. DO NOT DO THIS PART ALONE, I DONT CARE IF YOU ARE 30.

He is surrounded by mobs and you have to be lucky to get him in an area with not many people.

You'll find wilkes walking on the dirt road that connects the buidlings.

The farmer is a blond lady who spawns among the trees of the orchard that's near the road. She's in the East end of the orchard. Easy to kill solo at Lev. 26.
Citizen Wilkes walks along the road on the north side of the smithy. He comes from the NW towards the smithy. Easy to kill solo at Lev 26 if you clear the footmen out of the aggro range and wait for him.
The Clerk is inside the white building with the wall around it. I think there's 2 footmen and 2 councilmen with him, so a party of three can kill him, but they'll die before they get out.
Can't remember exactly where the miner was.

I found Hackett at 31,52. It looked like he should've been at the previously stated coords based on the fact that there was the second, level 30 named NPC there, but he was at 31,52, barely wandering. Maybe it was a bug, but check it out if you can't find him.

You actually have to go INSIDE the mine, to get him. Use the lower entry (ground level), turn right and keep going. Before you reach end, there's a big cave on the left. Kill 1 by 1 to clean up the mobs, he's right next to the other VIP there. You can pull him without aggro the other lvl 30 (he calls 2 lvl 28 helpers!). I soloed it easy @ lvl 30.

Citizen Wilkes wanders the path & you are bound to run into him more than you would like to.

Farmer Kalaba walks around in one of the fields.

The Clerk is in the large white building with the wall around it; killing off the footmen & councilmen is no problem until you get to the last room, where the Clerk is. You can clear the 2 guys just inside the doorway, but as soon as you enter the room you'll get rushed by the Clerk & 3 of his friends.

Then if you're like me you run all the way outside & have to start all over, because everyone respawns.

I didn't find the Miner yet, but I will... when I come back with some friends.

go south of where yuo find the other guys to the azurelode mine. when you go in the lower entrance (follow the path down) go to the right. there is a room at the end of the tunnel. it is miner hackett with a few miners but you can pull him out fairly easy

If you get Miner Hackett I was in a group with a lvl 27 and i was 25, If you are a hunter then pull the left side of the 2 guys and move back into the little room by the exit. Kill the 2 guys and then heal. Then go back into the big room and get the others, then get Hackett.

I have no idea how this quest becomes yellow at L26, considering the necessary target in the mines (Hackett) is L29 (red) and dependent upon level, has adds by virtue of aggro radius.

I definitely recommend avoiding this quest until L28 (unless you're a hunter or some other PvE advantageous class.

Most mobs are gone, making it easier to kill the main targets.

There are two entrances to the mine. Make sure you go through the south entrance so you don't fight a bunch of needless mobs. Enter mine, turn right and Miner Hackett will be at the end of the corridor. Level 29 surrounded by 26 and 27 miners with 28 foremen patting around.

This quest is pretty simple until you get to the miner.. not only do you have to deal with the pansies running away in fear, but this time they call for help, so get ready for a ton of aggro and a fast repop.. you might just ding a couple times attempting to find your way to the miner, and then ding again on your way out. Waaaaaay too many mobs. Ridiculous.

Was fairly easy to get the clerk with a shaman, even at lvl 21, just use searing totem, place it outside the building and draw them out one at a time.

Really easy quest until Hacket. I did it as a 23 shadowpriest. Almost had hacket dead but I could only drop him half way. Always missing my dots. When he turns orange I'm going to go back for him.

yes, the miner has a really long spawn time and it takes a while longer cause he spawn randomly inside the mine, and if anyone else is also looking for him, pray they want to group up cause this one guy can make you wait for a really long time!

Killing humans sure is fun. The best part is when they try to run from you. Muhahaha. Clerk Horace & Citizen Wilkes can be found in the main buildings at the Hillsbrad Fields area. Approximate loc is 31,45. Farmer Kabala was in the fields doing what she is told, work. I found her amongst the orchards hiding at this loc: 35,47. Miner Hackett was more of a pain to find. Go southwest of the Hillsbrad Fields to a mine entrance, Azurelode Mine. You'll be fighting your way to the back of the mine and there you'll find the Hackett. If you're a hunter be sure to use Track Humaniods, it will make your job easier in the long run.

My results:
You gain 2300 experience.
Your reputation with Undercity has increased.

The Bow vendors for the most - as a gun-toting hunter, they were all useless to me.

Pick this quest up at the same time you get Battle of Hillsbrad. You'll complete it as you proceed through the series.

(1) You will probably find Citizen Wilkes at the same time you are killing the two farmers in the first Battle of Hillsbrad quest. I believe he spawns in front of the house where Farmer Kalaba is, but he wanders the Hillsbrad area. You'll probably kill him several times over the course of the first four Battle of Hillsbrad quests. Can be soloed -- several times if necessary.

(2) If you haven't killed Farmer Kalaba already, you will find her in the middle of the field where you are killing Peasants for the second Battle of Hillsbrad quest. Can be soloed.

(3) Whitestead is in the main part of City Hall. Kill him when you are doing the fourth Battle of Hillsbrad quest for Councilmen. The notes above are right in that you will need a group for this one, as there are seven mobs in City Hall. However, a full group isn't necessary if you are either high enough level or skilled enough; I duoed this as a 31 Warlock (with VW) and 29 Mage without a death. A group of three at lower levels should be fine if you have crowd control.

(4) The fifth part of Battle of Hillsbrad has you kill Miners and a named Foreman. Do Miner Hackett here. I saw him in the same room as Foreman Bonds once, but his location may vary. You do not need a group for this; a duo is more than enough and it can be soloed.

Any and all of the quests that deal with Hillsbrad Fields have become insanely annoying for me and my questing partner, and this one is no exception. Citizen Wilkes and Farmer Kalaba were relatively easy: as previous posters said, you'll probably encounter Wilkes multiple times during the Battle of Hillsbrad chain, and Kalaba was easy enough to kill (a couple of times :) while we were taking out the Hillsbrad Peasants.

The other two, however, have become the bane of my existence. Clerk Whitestead is in the middle of the town hall surrounded by half a dozen other mobs, including a named 30, and the respawn rate and links/adds in the room are insane, definitely beyond the 25 warlock with voidwalker and 22 shaman that were trying to take them on. (P.S. They were also beyond the 27 mage who decided to run in, aggro the entire room at once, and die in about 3 seconds flat, thus dumping all the aggro on us. :)

I've heard that Miner Hackett will spawn in multiple places in the mine, but I had the good luck of finding him in the same room as a named 30 who will summon 2 29 guardians as soon as you think you have the fight with him in the bag (what fun!). Needless to say, they scattered my various undead bones all over that mine in a matter of seconds. I'll give it another try tonight when my questing buddy is on again.

In short, I will be very, VERY happy to see the back of this quest.

I found Miner Hackett in The Azurelode Mine... If you come from the top of the hill above the mine and jump down onto a platform with a hole, you will find you are attacked by a sentry and possibly a foreman. I reccommend this because you only have to kill one sentry before going into the mine :) Then Follow the mine until it splits in two, and take the south break. Here should be a wooden platform with a lvl 30 guy who will someone 2 Dun Garok Soldiers when hes about dead. Kill him first, and then I found Miner Hackett in this room next to the platform... good luck!

Here's where I found them:

Clerk Horrace Whitesteed: 29,41 level 30 inside City Hall, had a level 28 coucilman guarding

Citizen Wilkes: 32,40 level 25 found me outside City Hall

Miner Hackett: 29,55 level 29 in the Azurelode Mine just across the road from Hillsbrad, took the lower entrance, just east of Foreman Bonds level 30 (Bonds spawned 2 level 29 guards when I killed him, so watch out if you do)

Farmer Kalaba: 36,46 level 25 in the field full of peasants just off the road

I was level 31 so soloing was not a problem for me. Might be for 28 and below.

I deidn't have much trouble at all soloing this as a lvl 27 Pally. Did get killed once when fighting Miner Hackett due to excessive mobbing. Other than that, pretty quick and easy and good XP.

You'll probably kill Citizen Wilkes a half dozen times before you even get this quest. He wanders up and down the road between Farmer Getz's place and the town hall. He's also very nosy, and will jump into any fight within 100 yards of him.

Miner Hackett Has been at none of the locations that anyone has posted on this page.Apparently he moves around.That means that you are ALL wrong when you gave locations.You may have found him but, since he moves around, again, you re wrong.Furthermore,noone cares how anyone has done this quest.If you can't do it,so what! If you can.........again,big deal.The only thing anyone needs to post in regards to any quests is GOOD coords.If not, then just shut up.

Level 28 Hunter solo.

Outside you have a wall along the road with a footman at the gate. Clear him.

Then a paved walk to the steps with 2 Footmen that you have to pull one at a time. Clear any mobs close to this walkway.

One mob inside the door: solo pull.
Turn left to side room: one footman - solo pull.

Main Hall:
Phase I -
In the back are two: councilor and one other. Hit the councilor while still in the side room and run outside - only two will come. You break line of sight and the councilor has to follow. Burn down councilor and then the add.

Clear any respawns outside and the one footman across the path up near the Farmers. You are going to need running room.

Phase II - 5 left in the main room: four in the lower area including one named guy, and the big boss up on the platform in back. Re-enter the main room and tag the closest guy and run out. Four lower mobs will aggro but not the big guy, Horace Whitestead. Pull them outside onto the stone path.

Concentrate all damage on the named guy and kill him. Then run. If you are on the walkway, you won't have to run far before they give up.

Then do it again. You should be able to get the remaining three.

Return and defeat big guy solo.

lol solo'ed this bit as a 26 hunter, all u need is a stubborn unwillingness to die, a white lion, and a whole lot of arrows. Pull your marks out from their friends, and save concussive shot for when they chicken out and try to scarper off!

Miner Hackett (correct, on upper ledge just east of Foreman Bonds 29,55) is a pain, but I did it solo with a lvl 26 rogue. Sapped the foreman next to him and got him easily. Pretty simple with stealth - I would go in a group if another class. A pretty tough quest for the xp :S

All I know is the mine and trying to find the miner is no joke. Really tough. Most importantly if/when you run into Foreman Bonds level 30 - watch out. He spawns two more guys when you kill him.
