Private hendel has two bodyguards near him, if you start the quest with them being there they will attack you as well, so drag a mob to the guards before the quest and they will be focused on killing the monster. Then you start the quest and you'll only have to deal with 1 person. Otherwise you'll have to fight 3 level 35/36's and thats difficult for the lower level people

If you can kite him over to the nearby tower then the guards there will also help you kill him. I highly recommend you do this if your level is a little low for this quest. I have successfully completed this quest at around L32.

I got a very weird glitch as well, but useful! I lured a mob into the two guards who started killing it. Then I completed the quest line, got another quest, and only Hendel became hostile. I then began to attack him, but just as the guards finished off the mob, they ran over and began to aid me in attacking Hendel! I hardly had to lift a finger and the quest was complete. How funny. =)

i got the funniest bug, i kited the 3 to the nearby guard tower and the guards helped me to fight them, but before they were dead they started to run and dissapeared, after i noticed that the guys who show up after quest complete were there and i was able to dinish the quest and get the rewards without actually killing the missing diplomat :)

Not a difficult fight if you don't want to try kiting a mob to them or kiting them to the nearby guards, Just ignore the other two guards and concentrate on Hendel himself, once his health got to about 20-30% the fight is over (Lady Jania Proudmoore and a couple of others appear and teleport him away for punishment, and the two guards run off).

This quest gliched out on my lv 34, perhaps the guards and extra mob were too close to Hendel so he got in combat before I could accept the next quest.

As a lvl 36 rogue, when i started the fight, I immediatly threw blinding powder at one of his guards, turned on Evasion, and went straight for Hendle. Didn't even lose half of my health, and took him down before the other guard recovered.

for a hunter you should sick your pet on a guard when pet pulls aggro make him attack another guard until he pulls aggro then you attack hendle by yourself. i tryied it for him to take aggro on all but he died before i could defeat hendle

This is how I completed this as of May 8, 2008 on my level 30 Rogue.

Pull an elemental and let the two guards pick it up, might take an attempt or two because if you don't do it far enough away from Hendel he won't allow you to start the quest. Once the two guards are distracted start the quest by talking to Hendel and then run up to the tower right next to where they are all standing. The 2 guards at the tower will help you get him down to 20% ASAP. Once he gets to 20% he will run back to where you first spoke to him and Proudmore and her groupies will show up and take care of the rest; quest done. Hope this helps!

As of 5/19 at 10:50 PST, the quest is bugged.. My party kicked his butt three times and nothing happened. He was stunned.

The trio of people were there the whole time... but we couldn't finish the quest. Submitted a ticket, no response as of yet.

I found a funny trick was to pull the nearest mob near Private Hendel. Once the guards are focused on the monster start kiting Hendel around for a bit, once the monster has be killed run past the guards and since he is a hostile unit they will attack him, another guard was patrolling at the same time for me and attacked him too. Just make sure you have just enough hp left because when he runs back after giving up the guards will attack you for a few seconds.

i got a bug i ran to the gaurds they ran back i ran to them they were green so i abbonded q and he disappead

I tryed this quest a couple times and failed but the last time i attacked and got Hendal to stop attacking by beating him up and then i ran back to the road and frost novaed them in place and blink and ran around them for 40 seconds and they stopped and i completed the quest

I had a very weird glitch on this fight... I accepted the quest and the two guards started attacking me while Private Hendel stayed on the pier, i guess the Private was stuck on something, but after i killed both guards, hendel was still red, but i couldn't attack him. I waited a minute or two and then Hendel turned green again so i couldn't complete the quest. So i abandoned it, walked away and did some other quests, came back, accepted it again because the exclamation point was back over his head, and the fight was fine the second time.

Worth noting for those on a PvE server that attacking Hendel will flag you for PvP, so take care before you engage.

If Jaina is already there when you arrive then it is bugged. Go to a different layer and complete.

Yes it is still bugged! Do not start the quest when Jaina and Archmage Tervosh are present. Hendel will give up but you won't be able to complete the quest.
