This is the Horde-has-the-base version. You apparently cannot turn this in while Alliance has the base. You need to wait for the Horde to take it back so she'll respawn back outside the fort.

The slow respawn rate for the elementals you need to kill (a single hunter can completely deplete them all such that you're waiting for respawns) plus the pretty bad drop rate (2 from a complete clear of the plateau) means expect to waste quite some time on this quest.

The lashers have a crappie drop rate of the bags, but after getting only 4 bags, I had gotten 2 Eternal Lifes which is nice for us non-herbalists.

I think though that this is suppose to take the full 2 1/2 hours till the next battle here though. lol

You can obtain the pouches via killing Horde (100%) and "looting" them and/or killing the Lashers (~1.5%-ish) in the Steppe of Life area.

This has got to be the worst quest in WOTLK.

Lousy drop rate, lousy respawn rate, lousy location.

In the time you can do 3-4 fun daily quest you can waste your time doing this boring one.

Clearly the quest should be rewarded with at least 20K honor points.

Since 3.1, A Rare Herb has been the only "gatherer" daily on my server. What the heck is this? I don't ever see the fire/shadow/etc one anymore, only this one. I never did it because the drop rate was absolutely terrible... though according to 3.0.9 posts, it's 100% now. Great.

i dont know if they fixed the drop rate in a patch but i got a 100% drop from the guys plus i submited a screenshot so the people that dont know where it is at it will show u

Quest giver can ALSO be found patrolling on the North Western part of the Wintergrasp Fortress, next to the Western Siege Vehicle Workshop!

Anchorite Tessa in Wintergrasp wants you to retrieve 10 Horde Herb Pouches from Horde players in the Steppe of Life.

My, it is quite chilly up here! Reminds me of the stormy peaks of Kaarinos on Argus. However, with all of this snow and ice, our soldiers can easily catch cold.

Head to the Steppe of Life in southwestern Wintergrasp, and bring me back 10 Horde Herb Pouches. I will grind the herbs into a medicine to protect against the cold.

The Horde have been seen collecting them from the plant life in the area. Do not hesitate to slay them and retrieve the herbs!

You may also find one on a lasher in the area.
