The Regrowth and Molten Front Quest Hubs Preview
In addition to the
epic Firelands raid
and
Legendary staff quest chain
, Patch 4.2 will also bring two new daily quests hubs to the World of Warcraft -
The Regrowth
and
Molten Front
! These new areas will feature over 60 new quests, four "unlockable" iLevel 365 gear vendors and will constantly phase the world around you based on personal progress!
Read on for extensive details on these new areas and learn how you can earn your very own awesome
Ippogrifo Guardiafuoco
mount!
Following the Cataclysm, Ragnaros's elemental minions assaulted Mount Hyjal in a bid to set the ancient World Tree of Nordrassil ablaze. Although the Guardians of Hyjal and their allies heroically repelled this invasion, their work on the sacred mount is far from over. In the newly healed Regrowth, Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage and his comrades have transformed the Sanctuary of Malorne into a staging ground for an assault on Ragnaros's domain: the Fi

Guild Challenges Implemented on Patch 4.1 PTR
The
previously mentioned
guild challenges
have just started showing up on the PTR! You can rest assured that we'll have them added to our
PTR website
but for now you can take a look at the updated interface and get an idea of what kind of "challenges" we'll be facing! These challenges will be an awesome way to earn tons of guild experience and appear to have weekly caps -- For example, the Heroic dungeon challenge can be completed 7 times, most likely in a row with the changes to the
Daily Heroic system
! Sounds awesome to me!

Cataclysm Leveling Flow Guide: 1-60
Cataclysm tore the world asunder and redefined Azeroth--Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will never be the same. However, as exciting as it's been to watch this all unfold, it also means that it's harder than it was before to get back into the groove of things if you have taken a break. Even starting a new alt can be a mystifying journey since all the zones have been returned and the landscape changed. Darkshore was hit with tragedy, the Barrens is split in two, and tensions have never been higher in Silverpine Forest. There’s too much to take in and it's hard to know where to start sometimes.
But don't worry--that's what we're here for, right? In addition to having
a lengthy guide to the Cataclysm changes
in our Cataclysm section of Wowhead, this post will get you up to speed on the general leveling progression of World of Warcraft for levels 1-60.
Find out where to go, what zones you shouldn't pass up, and more after the break! We've even included some fun items to hunt for to give you reasons to check out certain zones over others!

PTR Patch 4.1 Notes Updated (2/28)
The first batch of major updates to the PTR Patch 4.1 patch notes has been posted, including some
Stregone
changes (finally!) as well as some
Guerriero
. In addition, this update also brings adjustments to the battlegrounds flag-carrying debuffs and an obnoxious nerf to
Druido
's
Bocciolo di Vita
. Looks like more of those beloved PVP changes that end up screwing over players in PVE... oh well.
Update!
Apparently Blizzard snuck a few more changes in within the past half-hour, I've added these as well to the full update below so check 'em out! Also, I take back my complaining about the
Bocciolo di Vita
change because with this latest update, they've added a very strange restoration
Druido
change:
Druido
-
(passive) also reduces
Tranquillità
's cooldown by 2.5/5 minutes.
I'm not sure where they're getting the 2.5/5 minutes, since
is passive and has no ranks, but if we're really going to get 3 minute
Tranquillità
after all these years then sign me up!
Other notable changes include:
Flying mounts can now be used in
Terre Spettrali

Cataclysm Daily Quests: Therazane
The Cataclysm expansion added thousands of new quests, and among these were quite a few new daily quests with which players can raise various reputations and earn some gold. I'll admit, I'm not particularly impressed with the monetary gain from these quests, as most quests award around or so, but I can tell that these quests were added as an alternate means of raising reputations without having to grind dungeons with the appropriate tabard on. That being said, I thought I'd take a look at the daily quests added for various factions with this expansion, starting with the big momma herself,
Therazane
!
The
Therazane
faction (and its dailies) will not become available until a significant amount of questing in
Rocciafonda
has been completed. You will first start earning Therazane reputation from quests upon completion of
Relazioni rocciose
. By the time you complete all of the necessary quests in Deepholm to unlock the dailies, you will be Honored with
Therazane
. From there, you can do daily quests for a total of
1850 reputation
per day and you can use the

Ding: Realm First! Level 85 Rogue
For those of you who have not been following my escapades on
IRC
, a few months back I personally decided I was going to attempt the "impossible" and obtain
Primo del reame! Ladro livello 85 (Retaggio)
. Since I actually managed to achieve this amazing feat two weeks ago, I've had quite a few people ask how I did it and what was going through my head in the process. So here I am, fully rested after several days of recovering from little to no sleep during the launch.
First off I want to put a disclaimer here, doing a Realm First is not for the faint of the heart. It took a lot of hard-work, dedication, and the help of some awesome guildies. To name a few of the people who really helped out and encouraged me during the attempt:
PoeticDragon
,
Noxy
,
Karadactyl
and the rest of my
Halcyon
buddies. I couldn't have done it without you!
But now let's get back to how it actually worked.

More Cataclysm Hotfixes Live! (December 8th)
Blizzard has released yet another round of hotfixes (you can check out
yesterday's batch here
), most of which affect Cataclysm 80+ leveling zone quests. There are also a few profession-related changes, including some reduction of node density for gathering professions in specific zones, and apparently "Fishing skill gains were increasing too rapidly past 500 skill and have been adjusted." Yeah, cause there's always been a huge problem in the game with Fishing leveling being
soooo
fast. :P
Blizzard has stated that some changes may not be implemented until realms are restarted. You can check out the detailed list of fixes and changes after the break!

Things To Do Now That the World is Destroyed: Get New Companion Pets!
So, apparently Deathwing coming out of the ground and destroying everything turned out to be one of the
best things to ever happen
to the World of Warcraft. It's kind of a strange way to look at things, with the paths of destruction in many zones, and the mounting tensions between even our own faction leaders, but as a player I can't help but feel like most things got pretty damn awesome. The new zones look phenomenal, the new quests / zones are more involved and storyline driven than ever before - even though I can't help but feel weird, it's like sitting in my room waiting for the apocalypse because I think it's going to be as awesome as
Fallout 3
or something.
In the last week before the actual Cataclysm comes, there's already once again much to do that most players may not be able to make time for until after their actual Cataclysm plans (such as leveling to 85, leveling a goblin/worgen, etc.). It's okay - because the
time is now
! I've been playing World of Warcraft more this past week than I have in months, and I just wanted to let you guys in on some of the awesome things to do before Cataclysm hits and it's back to the gr

Experience Reduced for Dungeon Quests
Looks like Zarhym just jumped on to post that
Experience for 1-60 dungeon quests is being significantly reduced.
We are applying a hotfix today to all level 1-60 dungeon quests for Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms dungeons which will significantly reduce the amount of experience they award.
While dungeons should remain integral to our evolving storylines, and great places to collect gear in cooperative environments, we need to make sure each player’s questing progress remains relevant as dungeon quests are completed. In many cases we’re seeing players enter dungeons to complete quests, only to come out ahead of the leveling curve for the zones they’re in.
This change should allow players the opportunity to reap the benefits of running dungeons, while not outpacing the leveling flow from levels 1-60. At this time there are no plans for making any adjustments to dungeon quest experience for Outland, Northrend, and level 80+ Cataclysm dungeons.
You can find a list of all of the latest hotfixes here:

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really happy about this. I love

The BFF Report..er.. Reports from the Worgen Starting Zones!
I finally got into Cataclysm and with it, over 800gb of in game footage that I have to somehow squeeze into these tiny ten minute segments. The first piece of coverage I'm offering up is a walkthrough of the Worgen starting zone. Besides all the bareback riding, missed opportunities for good Twilight jokes (is there such thing?), and epic phasing abuse, Blizz seems to have taken a completely different approach to creating these zones than what we are used to.
Think Westfall... probably 80% of the quests are centered at Sentinel Hill, Gilneas is the complete opposite. I found myself doing 2-3 quests at each outpost/abandoned house/street corner before moving on to the next mini-hub. This was cool and all, but I found that (besides Grandma Wahl) in the end, I didn't really care about any of them. I mean, Ill never forget Mankrik, Jitters, the fat drunk in Westfall hills, but these guys? Who cares!
*OMG SPOILER ALART!11*
It's not like I'm going to see them again anyways...

Dalaran Children's Week Quests Issues
As you may already have noticed, if you have completed the Dalaran
Children's Week
quests that were released last year,
you currently cannot complete them again this year.
An update posted by Bornakk and further clarified by Bashiok states that at this time there is no plan to fix this issue with the quest in time for this Children's Week, and everyone who completed the quest last year will have to wait until the event rolls around again.
This is rather upsetting, I was hoping to complete the Dalaran collection by getting my

We are aware of the issue that is currently affecting the Children’s Week quest line in Dalaran which does not allow players who have completed the quest line last year to take part in it again this year. We do not currently have a fix planned to address this issue at this point in time.
To clarify, this issue won'

Operation: Gnomeregan Imminent
High Tinker Mekkatorque has made an Azeroth Bulletin stating that
Operation: Gnomeregan
is imminent. He goes on to state in this announcement, "After all, Thermaplugg has eluded death for years to keep his reign over Gnomeregan; and with the fall of the Lich King, the last great threat to the citizens of Azeroth, the chance of any cataclysmic event taking place in the foreseeable future is less than 12.7%."
What does this mean for us? I personally think we will be seeing the retaking of Echo Isles and Gnomeregan in the very near future and hopefully with it will come the release of the new
Santuario di Rubino
raid dungeon.

3.3 Speculations (Part 1)
So just a couple days back I brought you some juicy
Quel'Delar Speculations
(because we all know the blog wasn't actually about the PTR coming up). Well, I was talking to Corgan yesterday, and apparently he is really good at digging interesting stuff out of the game files and
other DBs
. So we just kind of sat
there
, he was throwing links at me, I was reading as quickly as possible, and then there were some promises and implications that my immediate descendants would suffer an... interesting fate, if I failed to post all that in a blog.
So here it is. The blog is going to be really spoiler heavy. I am only going to cover Quel'Delar in this part (exploring other interesting quest chains, and some interesting spells too in the later issues), so if you are fine with that - go ahead. If not... I just wrote a very long blog for you not to read :P
