In-game Community Assets were initially previewed during
BlizzCon 2017
, and there was even a sneak peek at a very incomplete version of the feature during
Battle for Azeroth alpha
. As of Build 26734, the Guild/Community UI has gone through a revamp! Although it still has incomplete features, most of it is available for testing on Battle for Azeroth Beta.
Below, you can see a preview of all the functions for the new In-game Guild/Community UIs.
Default UI
Guilds while Guildless
When you're Guildless, you will have a UI that explains what a Guild is, their benefits, and how to create a Guild if you so wish. If you click on Find a Guild, a menu similar to the Guild Finder currently on live will show up. There are no changes on the guild invite UI as of Build 26734.
Community when not in a Community
There is no direct UI that shows you're not in a Community. You can click on Join or Create a Community to create a new Community, or join an existing one. When creating a community, you have an option of creating a World of Warcraft Community, or a Blizzard Community.
You can only invite members of your own faction on the World of Warcraft Community. It also includes calendar events and quick-join supports (both functions currently disabled on Build 26734).
In Blizzard Communities, you can invite people via BattleTag, and they are able to speak across game via Battle.net. This is supposed to connect with the
Social Tab on the Battle.net application
, but this function is currently disabled on Beta.
You can invite members to your Community by either inviting them in game, or generating a link to input on your browser, much like how Discord works for inviting people into servers.
Guild and Community UIs
Chat Tab
Guild/Community chat, as well as a roster of people currently online, are into the
Chat
tab. New additions include Chat history and Voice Chat!
Chat history is automatically logged, even when you're not online in-game. You can also move guild chat to different chat windows!
Voice Chat is also available for members of your guild or community. Simply click on the headset icon in the upper right corner of the Guilds & Community tab and it will automatically connect you.
There are also keybinding options for Push to Talk, Toggle Deafen and Toggle Mute.
For Communities only, you can also create different chat channels, as well as set different notifications for each channel. You can also move those different community chat channels to your default chat window.
Roster Tab
On the
Roster
tab, you can see a list of members of your Guild or Community. The information has been expanded to fill the entirety of the window. For both Guilds and Communities, you can also see or add member notes. For guilds, you can also sort members by rank, zone, notes, and choose between displaying Achievement Points or Profession levels.
Guild-only UIs
Perks Tab
On the
Perks
tab, you can see what perks your guild has active, as well as what guild achievement rewards you can purchase. For recipes you cannot purchase, you can highlight them to see what achievement your guild needs to complete to unlock said purchase.
Info Tab
Guild Challenges, Message of the Day, Guild Information and Guild News have been merged together on the
Info
tab. You can also check the guild log for people who joined/left/etc. on this menu.
