With the WoW Classic beta capped at low levels, the beta is all about leveling and bag space is at a premium. Today we thought we'd highlight our Classic WoW Bags & Storage Guide, so you can familiarize yourself with the limited bag space woes of Classic and plan your upgrades.

Storage in Classic WoW
A bag is defined as a container item that a character can use to hold other items. By default, all characters start with a 16 slot Backpack bag that cannot be moved nor replaced.
Bags can be obtained from many sources, including quest rewards, crafting professions such as
Tailoring
, and world drops from mobs and chests. Many bags do not bind to the character and can be exchanged between players or purchased/sold on the Auction House. Bags that are not currently equipped can be stored in your inventory, but bags inside of other bags must be empty - they do not nest more than two deep.
Inventory space is an important resource, as more space will allow players to carry more items and make it easier to manage their inventory. This is especially critical for classes such as
Warlock
s and
Hunter
s that utilize
Soul Shard
s and ammunition respectively, and special bag types exist for these classes (such as
Felcloth Bag
and
Quickdraw Quiver
).
In addition to standard bags, there are also bags specifically for Enchanting materials, Herbs, Warlock Soul Shards, Hunter Ammo, and Quivers.
You can also purchase up to seven additional bag slots through the Bank.
About the Author
Ragorism has been playing World of Warcraft since December of 2004, with a majority of my time being from the Classic, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King expansions as an Orc Rogue on the US Gilneas realm. Over time he has become more attracted to the tanking role and PvE content, and now his focus has shifted to all aspects of World of Warcraft: Classic.
He previously worked at Blizzard Entertainment as a Game Master from April 2015 to December 2018, where he often found himself creating internal articles for coworkers to use (some of which became external articles for players to use). As a result, he figured this skillset would be useful for creating guides about the game that he grew up with and love.
