The quests to obtain the 'Wild Leather' recipes can be obtained from Jangdor Swiftstrider (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/npc=7854) in Camp Mojache in Feralas for the Horde and Pratt McGrubben (https://www.cuckhead.com/wotlk/npc=7852) in Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas for the Alliance.

hehe you dont find it you go to feathermoon stronghold with a LW skill of 225 or over and the LW supplier there teaches tribal leatherworking he wants some quests done and he gives you the recipie for this and other things :) i only need wildvine...

My leather working skill is 289 since lvl 45 and i have lvl'd up to 52 now, the leatherworking supplier still has yet to give me the recipe..wats going on here? I've tried everything, i even rounded up the group and destroyed Camp Mojache or watever its name is..and Swiftthistle or watever his name is didnt even give me anything, as a matter of fact, i could not even talk to him...wats going on here? wat am i doing wrong or not doing? hehe got many dishonorable kills that day..hehe

What level requirements are there for Leatherworking?

Yes. Currently there is are a few quests for Leatherworkers

A low level quest for the Alliance side from Lotherias in Darnassus in which she wants you to help her make leather goods. She needs the following: 1 Embossed Leather Glove, 5 Embossed Leather Boots and 5 Embossed Leather Cloaks. The reward is a moonglow breastplate pattern.

The equivalent low level leatherworking quest for the Horde is given out by the leatherworking trainer in Thunderbluff. Its reward is a kodo leather bag pattern (6 slot container). There is a third quest for both sides. It is given out by Ebru in the Wailing Caverns. Its reward is the Deviate scale belt pattern.

There are also the wild leather quests. These are a series of quests that reward you with additional leatherworking patterns. They begin with: Pratt McGrubben, in Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas for the Alliance, and Jangdor Swiftstrider, in Camp Mojache, Feralas for the Horde. The patterns that you are rewarded with are shown below. These wild leather quests are required for Tribal Leatherworking, however are available for all other Leatherworkers, regardless of specialization.

What do I need for the specialization quests?
The specialization quests all require you to provide certain items. Knowing what they are, and having them already made before journeying to the trainer is far better than having to return later.

I made a wildvine helmet, and got a set of stats I wasn't particularly happy with (+12 STA, +12 SPI), so I made a second, and got the exact same stats. I thought this was odd, but just a coincidence, so I made a third, and got the same a third time.

Is this just how the "wild" recipes work? Or did I get really bad luck?

Just bad luck. It is completely random. I, like you and some others posters I have seen have mentioned getting runs of a particular enchant. I have made about 9 different wild leather items and have gotten owl on 4 of them. :( I have also gotten eagle, monkey, bear, whale, and Natures Wrath(Nature spell damage bonus). I have also seen agility, power, and defense on AH.

Edit: After posting this I saw on another site that not every wild leather item gets the exact same enchant list. It also posted the % chance of getting each and it was definitly weighted with the highest % any enchant getting about 17% down to about 4%. So it seems to be random just not equal for all items. If you think it looks bad there, you should see it on my NE female. The problem with hats on NEs is that it hides all of their hair. Her long white hair just vanishes and then you slap this "shower cap" on, and it just makes for a grotesque scene. Luckily, there is a "hide helm" feature!
