EDIT: you can talk to the rogue trainer in Orgrimmar if you "misplace" it. He'll give you a whistle, which does the same thing.

Anyone know where to get this? The only place I know is from the lvl 24 Rogue Quest Mission:Probably but not Possible. However I've seen an alliance use one of these, or soemthing that looks like it, on me when I'm stealthed for me to appear. Just want to know where to get this thing.

you get it from rogue poison quest.. you prolly saw fireworks from scarlet monastery.

is it safe to throw trhis away whn you got the whistle? what is the qwhistle for?

hunters have a skill 'flare' which causes stealthed stuff to show up.

after finishing the quest you can pretty much get rid of this and the whistle, as it can't be used on anything but the one quest dude :(

go back to the trainer who gave you the quest and click the chat option saying 'I lost my flare gun and whistle' or somesuch.

What I don't get is why you can ask for another one once you have completed the quest... odd.

Once you complete the quests, you can trash the items.

They are for the lvl 20 rogue quests to get the recipe for Thistle Tea and the Poison skill.

I have this flare gun, but I can't get it to work. I can't equip it, when I right click it, "you have no target" pops up. So I'm standing in front of this tower trying everything to get it to work, but to no avail. Any tips?

This item is used to capture Matis the Cruel located @Bloodmyst Isle (24, 53)
Its a part of quest called "Matis the Cruel"

You walk towards Matis, when you start getting close fire the flare, then the tracker will apear and you have to fight matis with the tracker

The tower are located in the very north of The Barrens - the place called The Sludge Fen. It's on the left side of the small lake.

Did I miss something?

I'm a gnome mage doing Draenei quests on the Exodar island. I keep pretty close tabs on my bags being that im only lev 20 and have very little space.

Just found this in my bag and wanted to know how it got there or if I can use it more than once.

Obviously I've come to the wrong spot being since you all think it's for/from a rogue quest which being a MAGE I can assure you, you are wrong!

I will try looking a bit more :(

OK.. FOUND OUT.. it's for the quest Matis the Cruel on Bloodmist Isle. Or rather the one I have. Perhaps there is another flare gun usage for a different quest dealing with a rogue. However I also have a lev 40 rogue and I don't ever recall using a flare gun.

Look i acidently trashed my6 flare gun for the rogue quest nd i followed what ppl have put"go back to the trainer that u got the quest from and click 'i would like to have a new flare gun'" well something like that..well..there isnt a 'i would like to have a new flare gun' button i just abbandoned the quest hoping that it would fix it and it didnt so now im stuck i dont no how to get my flare back..help me..:<

I have the same problem , trashed flare gun and abandoned the Poison quest and now can't get either :(

Why are you talking about a rogue quest in an unrelated item? The flare for the other quest is here.

This flare gun is for the rogue quest Deep Cover. You use it to make Taskmaster Fizzule friendly so you can interact with him. You need to select (or be near) Taskmaster Fizzule, then right click on the flare gun in your bag. It has 10 charges. It is safe to discard the flare gun once the quest-line is completed. This is part of the Recipe: Thistle Tea rogue quest-line.

I noticed that the rogue trainer still offers you the flare gun in a speech bubble choice after the quest is over. You can still get it, and it will still make Taskmaster Fizzule friendly, although he has nothing to say to you now except for the usual dwarf NPC lines (ex. "Interest you in a pint?"). Again, you can safely discard the flare gun.

If you are NOT a rogue, and you have a flare gun, it is probably this one: Flare Gun.
