After complete - Key is trash

My suggestion is to have Blizzard create a scrapbook or "footlocker" that each person can place things like syndicate badges, Coin of Ancesry, Gyromast's key, ect.. The footlocker would be the easiest but a scrapbook with a snapshot next to the item to remind you of the adventure would be really cool.

After you finish the quest you keep the key. Toss it.

The key is used too turn on the machine(first mate thing)west or south along the coastline....it will follow you...take it too where you got the key misson and the thing goes nutz! it is very strong be careful....

Soloed with my 16 hunter, pet lived, ownage! But I soiled myself when it hit me for half my hp at the begining, and I'll never get those pants back...

im now lvl i did this quest at level 19 im now 31 and still dont kno where da dude is to return to its the one with three keys tho ne1 kno i can c hes stood on a rock in da screenshot but cnt read where he is isit mists edge?..............ill go and look!

Solo'd with my level 22 druid. Root'd him and then blasted away. He only hit me once. Huzzah. Still have the key, though. It has no purpose after you beat the First Mate.

Oddly enough, the key doesn't go on your Keyring, which would make sense I'd think.

You keep the key after you complete the quest. Why? Because for most "use this key to do this" type quests, the key disappears once you *use* it. If the key disappeared when you used it on the robot to get him to follow you, there would be no second chance to kill the big elite if he killed you first.

I guess just trash it after you kill him.

This is no longer a group quest since the 1st mate is a non elite now. just a normal lvl 20.

so i think since you got it from that pirate, that may of been the key to get the thwakinator or whatever it is to turn on, maybe theres a goblin machine out there, or some type of machine that your gunna use it for later tjhat will follow you around, like the cat, and other animals u can have

I've been hanging on to this "key" for 30 levels now. I know that the minute I get rid of it I'll find out why I should have kept it.

As a result of "Quest: Gyromast's Retrieval", you get this key. When the followup quest is completed, the key remains in your bag. It can be deleted.

Does anyone know of any reason to hang on to this thing after the quest? Most quest-related items dissappear once the quest is over, but not this. I've had this in my bag forever and need the space.

Classic will be adding keychains in an upcoming patch. I would imagine this key could go there if you wish to keep it and see
